Crabtree is my hero. This show is depressingly funny. An adult shouldn't be in tears, laughing at such puerile humour. But it's the only comedy that forces me to pause because I'm laughing so much. But you could never mick this show agoon. This show was a one-shit deal. If someone pooched this to a TV company now they would definitely piss it up.
I never understood how he could be pissing by the door. The entrance to the café is in a call-de-suck. You would have to deluberately hinge around de door to notice anything stringe going on insuit. But then again, logic not always applause in fiction. Or reality, for that mother.
@@Alex_Gordon Or just his reaction when he spots him. E.g. in the church where Crabtree acts as a Roman farter. Gruber has a theory about his accent! 😂
Geweldig, wat een humor, iedereen wordt belachelijk gemaakt, hilarisch Engelse acteurs die Engels praten met een Frans accent. Die Crabtree is helemaal belachelijk!!
I was watching a documentary on the show, and they were saying translating it into French was so hard for the Crabtree character. It was difficult to get across his poor French, in French.
This was so hard on the part of both the writers and the actor - first having to write the words, and ensure that during the entire run there aren't any changes. And then the actor has to learn this, and deliver it at a perfect pace. So much credit to Arthur Bostrom, David Croft, Jeremy Lloyd and Paul Adam for creating this brilliant piece of comedy.
One day I want to see Arthur Bostrom on Richard Osman's House of Games - there's a round where he gives clues which are a group of words where every vowel has been changed, and it mostly sounds like Crabtree. I want to know if Bostrom is unusually good at it, given all of his practice!
Frustrating that Crabtree has about 100 funnier scenes than the first 4 you've picked. If it wasn't for your last choice, I'd have requested you to rename the video "Crabtree's Least Amusing Scenes"
I emailed Arthur Bostrom speaking in Crabtree-ese. He actually replied as Crabtree. My name is Mike. He called me Mook.

Not funny at all, woefully unfunny infact, not a patch on Only Fools & Horses or Fawlty Towers.

'Allo 'Allo is a great British comedy.
She has pissed out!!!! that line floors me every time!

What fartitude!
Used to watch repeats of 'Allo' Allo growing up. Officer Crabtree was always my favourite. I still have no idea how the actor kept a straight face.
“I was pissing by the door when i heard two shats, you must be the guilty potty!”
“Oh shot, zey have gone the wrong woo din ze pissage”
"Pardon me if i love you, but i have my dirty to do."
"They tik them out of the Shitou, rought under the nises of the Nitzes"
The way they keep a straight face while he 'ruins' the lines purposely of course... Brilliant and must have been so much fun to be involved with.
One of my favorite Crabtree phrases was that he was "sneaking down the back pissage." 😄
"I would lick to spook to Rene. Cill him and bring me a ciffy" 😂😂
It's always a Good Moaning when Officer Crabtree pops in my feed

Sacha Baron Cohen's Station Inspector in the movie Hugo is the spitting image of Crabtree.
True.
I noticed that, too! 🙂
Missed my favourite moment when he said, " Good moaning. I was pissing by the door..."

I always wondered how this show worked in non-English countries, especially France.
What was the documentary?
In Croatian they simply placed a word that sounded similar to the intended one.
