The verbose and staid narration is basically saying that “wokeism” killed Benny Hill. His humour was in the British comic tradition of music hall and bawdy seaside postcards. But “wokeism” with its misplaced virtue signalling could not stand the “objectifying” of women. It was just like the entertainment industry to throw one of their most loyal and profitable talents under the bus like an empty packet of cigarettes. Shame on them!

The British were careful to not write 'out and out' smut. They would write a clean script, but in such a way, it had more than one meaning'. So the show could be as innocent or dirty as your mind !!! Obviously Mrs Slocum was talking about her cat.... but.... it could be taken another way!!! And they made hundreds of shows like that. There were very clever. Benny Hill was a one of, nobody has been able to replace him. Why don't they bring back his comedies. We all need a laugh.
His show was translated in 93 languages. How absurd. How could all those people know comedy?
Too long, jump to 21:00 when it gets to the point.
When you get there, no specific scene is mentioned!
Best show in English: Benny Hill ❤❤
Best show in Spanish: El Chavo del 8 ❤❤
But after this blog, the question must be what did Benny know about who that lead to him being closed down?
He was one of my favorites ending. The show was brought on by prejudice and idiots
Ben Elton could have asked the girls how they felt.!
And if you live in the UK, you can still see his shows on that TV that’s TV too and rewind. TV.
This could have been reduced to 5 minutes, we don't need a history lesson ... just The Scene That Took the Benny Hill Show off the Air for Good !!!
The GOD of fun and laughter
We loved the Benny Hill show.
Peter Sellers and Benny both died within a year or two of one another and...ENGLAND JOINING THE WRETCHED EU! Both poked gentle fun at foreigners, eccentrics and our own people, and that, I believe, "contributed" to their early death and disappearance from our screens. Put that down as a conspiracy theory if you must. It won't bring them back.RIP Benny and Peter - we're still chuckling away at the memory of your great characters!
Dissection is tedious
With Benny Hill you knew it was going to be openly naughty unlike some of the double meaning smut that some of the other comediens of the same era deliverd as panel game compares
his show was o k its the old bags that disturb the shit what goes on today on the internet is a lot worse than the benny hill show
My daughter loved this show which she called the Bee-hill Show. She was around 4 at the time, and loved it when Benny Hill and the old man appeared. Her favorite was the head slaps from Benny.
30 minutes of "keep watching to find out" . . .
Wow, Benny Hills understanding of many other languages meant he really was a funny linguist. (Yes, I am playing with words for your amusement) 😂🤣😂
Greatest slap stick ever. On arrival at Alexandria USA, from London, I turned on the TV. To my surprise it was showing The Benny Hill show. I almost felt at home.
Basically it had run it's course and fashion changed. However Benny Hill put many years of dedication and clever comedy into his shows and was an icon of his era. Taking the micky out of the female sex and indeed the male sex should never be seen as derogatory to either sex, but simply taken for what it is and that is to make people laugh. Benny Hill was no accident and all credit to this British man who bought years of laughter to the whole world. Thank you Benny Hill!
Hill's humor didn't change. But society became prudish.
