absolutely LOVED the cinematography in this video!!! and the outfits are SO on point ! love it 😍😍 edit: OMG she commented AAAAAA!!! and ty for all the likes 💗
Who doesnt LOVE Anne of GG. I dressed up as Anne at my job at school for our favorite story book character. Only one person knew who I was but she was so so excited to see me. Kindred spirits are far a few between but they are out the. Your video....exquisite!
Honestly, now I wish to publish my Edwardian novel in hope to see how you would do the characters lookbook. Btw, the heroine is redheaded just like you 😅😅😅
Holy cow i feel like you've read my mind. i just watched the 1985 movie last night and then obsessively looked for clothes on etsy to become anne and now you've posted this video!!
I cannot express enough how amazing this is! I so love the spirit of Anne and her community that I named my daughter Avonlea 19 years ago and you absolutely captured the feel and beauty of everything that Avonlea is (the story & my girl!) Thank you for sharing your gift!
RACHEL this is so beautiful I couldn't even finish the video before coming down here to tell you so. Your filmmaking skills have always been impressive but they are front & center stage in this video. The composition of every shot and the lighting are captivating! And do you have a new camera? Everything is so crisp! I've loved your content for years but this is a major step up. Absolutely gorgeous! Now to finish up and watch this.... 1,000 more times...
Kate Parker i wrote a similar comment! I think part of it too is since Rachel went full time youtubes, she can put way more time and thought into them... which definitely shows!
For the Marilla look I spotted some locations from Old Sturbridge Village. It's a living history museum in New England centered around the 1830s. If you ever get a chance I would highly recommend checking it out!
I've been watching Anne with an E on Netflix ! (They FINALLY added season 2 to Canadian Netflix) The music is perfect and so is the styling of course ! I think my favourite was Dianas. Overall it was beautiful!
Hey, I just wanted to tell you that this video made me cry in the most wonderful way. You channel is one of the most comforting things I've watched during quarantine, and I wanted to thank you for making me feel things. Happiness and joy, and even sadness in questioning always seem to be missing in the numbness, but then you're here; even when it's just me coming across an old video. Thank you for creating such beautiful things. I haven't allowed myself to cry and feel in awhile. Thank you for waking me up
This is so beautiful! I just discovered your channel this week and you’ve inspired me so much. Like you I’ve never felt at home in modern fashion, but my dad sells classic menswear for a living and has always dressed handsomely (he looks like Gregory Peck on a given day) and I’ve always loved the timelessness of it but never had the courage to try it myself until I found you! Thank you ❤️
Rachel, Anne of Green Gables holds such a special, nostalgic place in my heart and while watching this video I was completely moved to tears, you captured it perfectly! Im so emotional right now oh myyy gooodddd, you made me feel right at home. From the cinematography, to the looks, it was so romantic :,)
My teenage girl self would have loved these outfits when I used to go to Green Gables. I'd have my Anne of green gables book with me the woods around the house were my favourite.! It's such a magical place, seeing Anne's room and her things. Aw, memberberries!
I grew up watching all the Anne of Green Gables films and books and this video just made me really happy! The cinematography is beautiful~~ and I loved how you did other characters apart from Anne ♡♡♡
I absolutely cherish Anne of Green Gables. Who wouldn't want to be her or to be her friend? Such a sweet soul! This video reminded me of time spent with my mom sharing Anne's adventures. Thank you, Rachel!
I've just finished watching the series Anne with an E. And am about to watch the film version too. I just remembered this video exists. And it's even lovelier than I remembered! Very awesomely done!
Everything about this is just perfect and I wanna cry. ♥ Back in the day when I read Anne for the first time, I had decided that I want to be ginger. I was like 9, and it has stuck with me ever since. Now (sort of thanks to you and henna) I am living my redhead dreams. Thank you, Rachel. ♥
I just wanted to say I truly appreciate you and your channel, and Anne with an E as well. You have completely captured the feeling that show shoots for. Thank you for brightening my days with your humor, and inspiring me with all that you do.
Your lookbooks NEVER disappoint! The close ups of the dandelion flying was beautiful. Love Anne of Green gables so much!!!! We are kindred spirits and bosom friends!!!!
@@sarahturner4148 Yes there is. Anne is portrayed beautifully there but Gilbert and Matthew's characterisation just didn't fit well with me in the PBS one. I love everything about Anne with an E. It's a great series, quite underrated too. Stories are a bit mature and feel more real and heavy in comparison to the books. But it's a perfect adaptation. I love Awae! Gilbert, he has his own storyline not always revolving around Anne's. He's written more real and far more complex, I mean he's quite complex in the books too just with more context and depth if u know what I mean. He has his flaws that are sometimes frustrating, but his goodness trumps them IMO. How did you like Awae! Gilbert, assuming you've watched the show too.😊
@@blorbofy yes I love Awae too! I do still find it kind of weird that Anne and Gilbert already have a good relationship when I seem to remember them being mean to each other for a long longer, but I kind of ignore it because they're so cute together. And I love pretty much everything about Awae too. Each character has their own unique characterizations which is really nice.
OMG! Just about every vignette brought tears to my eyes. I discovered Anne when the CBC version played on PBS. I totally fell in love with her and then devoured the books which I loved even more. I gave my second daughter the middle name Anne for her. Thank you! I loved this!
I grew up spending every summer and every Christmas on PEI, and it honestly confounds and delights me that people worldwide can understand and *put into a video* the exact essence of what it feels to be there, visiting the real sites. Much love from Canada, Rachel!
I'm kinda sad you didnt do Mathew but holy shit this is amazing! So much! And everything was so beautiful, the music, the outfits, the landscapes, the cinematography, just from one end to the other it was practically perfect in every way.
I just re-watched the 1985 Anne of Green Gables, and discovered they had continuing series with the same actors!! Perfect timing on the lookbook video!!
Your intro is so beautiful. Your Marilla outfit with the belt and broach is beautiful. The locations. The music. I'M IN AWE. TALENT OVERLOAD. I could re watch this 10 times and find new detail, like that monarch butterfly shot! YES. YAY YES GO YOU.
Yeah the show tries to make the story darker and veers from the books. I like Anne of Green Gables because of how pure the whole story is.. feel-good but with some real life events... we don't need to make it a dark story
I cried through this whole video. Anne is my favorite book of all time and the kindred spirit is the most important concept for me. Thank you for being a kindred spirit!!! This was an incredible beautiful movie!!!
Anne of Green Gables is one of my FAVORITES. I absolutely adored this video and all the looks -- I love that you did multiple characters. The cinematography was stunning.

The effort put into the cinematography, thematic locations, and just general aesthetic is franky jaw dropping.
Ok I 100% agree with this comment but "franky jaw dropping" made me laugh out loud lol

The 1985 movie and its sequels are my favourite version of anne of green gables (besides the books, lol)
Best movie depiction in my opinion *chefs kiss*
Megan Follows will always be the only Anne!

How you manage to do these lookbooks with an authentic aesthetic and modern cinematography is brilliant. Nicely done! Plus all the bloopers are gold!
