    I installed a Hewitt Tech gen 1 kit on my 05 Tundra over a 1-1/2 years ago because my truck went into limp mode. The truck runs great and I just passed smog in CA.

    There are lots of these bypass systems this is the most simple there are ones that need Modules added and variable Resistors added and they can get complicated i like how simple thks bypass is

      Hi John!
      You are most welcome. It can be a little intimidating at first, but it’s relatively simple once you put it all together. I’m so glad it helped!

    Is the purple relay , the secondary air injection relay?

    Will this work if you automatically know that all your system is messed up. according to the codes, I’ve been getting in the way it’s running. Can I put this on and will be back to the way it ran before which was real good?

    I got 240 thousand trouble free miles on my 4.7. What problem is this so posed to fix. I am going to get Doug Thorley headers in future but interested in what potential issues I might have in future.

    • @looseaxles
      @looseaxles  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Alan! Nice idea with the DT headers - I know a lot of people swear by the updated version.
      This mod works to eliminate the secondary air system procedure to ensure the pump doesn’t fail and leave your valves stuck open. It’s a decently common problem in these 4.7s and a costly repair if you don’t catch it early!

    • @looseaxles
      @looseaxles  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It certainly can come with block off plates! I did not need them as I’m currently not throwing any codes or having any issues. I used the relay to disable the system to avert myself of any future trouble.

      Block off plates ensure that the Valve remain shut. If not installed you run the risk of them opening in the future and exposing the pressure sensor to exhaust. This can damage the pressure sensor and put the truck into limp mode.

    • @looseaxles

  • @adventure_by_proxy
    @adventure_by_proxy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So black/red doesn't matter at all? I'm confused which wire to put on which terminal and then which one to put on which splice side.

    • @looseaxles
      @looseaxles  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It does not matter which way you splice in as the circuit is multi directional! It’s a little counter intuitive for sure.

  • @taliesinangling3564
    @taliesinangling3564 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So all it’s doing is disconnecting the activating wire for the pump while the vehicles running?

    • @looseaxles
      @looseaxles  ปีที่แล้ว

      It bypasses the pump from opening the valves and keeping them closed. For people that have them stuck open there are block off plates as well.
