Dave I just watched your pouring medium video where you mix glue and floret roll. Then you used the word base. Is it a base (pillow )or pouring medium recipe.
Why is what I need to know? I’m new to this and trying to find info on why these things are done. I understand the need for an extender and vehicle for the paint but why the mix of the glue/floetrol/pouring medium (pm? And then water?
A medium is a solution that is added to paint to thin it so it can be managed on the canvas. The consistency needs to be fluid enough to slide across the canvas.
Can this medium mix be used for either thick or thin pour techniques in what ratios of paint to medium would you use for the thin or thick paint consistency
This medium can be used for most pour methods. I manipulate the recipe to be acceptable to the technique I am applying. I can add more glue to thicken or more floetrol to thin. Just make sure that all of your paints have the same or very similar consistencies. You can put one drop of each paint on a card and put the card straight up and down and let the paint Drip down the paper. Watch each color to make sure they Drip at the same pace. Hope this helps
Glue helps bind your paint to the canvas as it dries. Paint already has binders mixed in and the added glue is more beneficial in adhesion. Floetrol is a paint conditioner and helps make the paint smoother on the canvas. I use both and have had great results.
Hi, Thanks for video! I have no access to those stuff. I buy untinted base paint from hardware store and mix it with my acrylic paints and add water for consistency. Do I need to add glue still?.
If you want cells you can throw a little bit of silicone in it but if you're consistencies are good and your paintings are coming out nice and not cracking I would say stick to what works. I use glue I tried using house paint recently and it was latex boy was that a mess LOL
Flood Floetrol is a paint conditioner that when used in paint makes the paint level much easier. It will virtually eliminate brush strokesand will help your fluid paint flow consistently. Floetrol is in the US. Europe has Owatrol and Australia has Australian Floetrol which is a different Floetrol from the US version. You can find these online or at your local hardware store. As far as using only pva glue, yes! Absolutely. Mix 1 to 1 ratio paint to glue and add water to consistency. Floetrol will help you get better cells tho.
But you never say at the end which ones work you just say glue and the flood so are those the ones because floetrol is monstrously expensive and so is liquitex and all that stuff it's ridiculously expensive I use glue but they say that it can break if it's hit hard so which one is the one that holds up the best and is the cheapest in the end? You threw a lot of prices and products at us all at once and in the end I am still confused about which one is the best and the cheapest thanks in advance
Hey... if you are looking for a good, reliable cheap medium... I recommend a 50/50 mix of Elmer's Glue-All to Flood Floetrol. Glue-All is like 20 dollars a gallon on Amazon and Flood Floetrol is 14 dollars a gallon. That two gallons will last you quite a while. This mix is plus a small squirter of paint make the perfect consistency for most pour methods.
You're very welcome. I post these to help people pass over some of my early mistakes. Acrylic Pouring can be costly, so anything that can help save money and product is worth sharing! Keep it up. Pour on!
Floetrol is just a paint conditioner that helps level your paint. Glue All has binding agents that help bind everything together in one big cohesive family!
This medium was a waste of good floetrol. I used exactly what was shown to use. Measured it the same... everything the same. It's a weird chunky texture which is not allowing me success. I have found that floetrol and water is working just fine.
I ALWAYS strain everything before it hits cancas. I cannot stress this enough. Floetrol is notorious for having clumps or "booger" that look like snot. Male sure you mix thoroughly and then strain that mixture. I am sorry you had trouble with this recipe. Hope this helps.
I thought glue and water were a substitute for Floetrol. If you have Floetrol why would you need the glue? I can't buy Floetrol in my town so I use glue and water. That makes sense. Using floetrol AND glue doesn't.
This is very informative and budget friendly tips. Thank you so much for making this video. Breaking it down for everyone to use and do. 😊
This will save me a lot of money. I've been using straight Floetrol. Thanks!
Great idea. Thanks.
Thank you for sharing🇨🇦
thank you for this info i am a newbie also 9 pours done...
Good for you..... We all start somewhere. The important thing is where you go from here. Find your niche and let it blossom! Pour on!!
Merci pour votre tutoriel. ❤

Do you you the same amount of Australia floetrol, as I live in australia

@@davesacrylicpouringart1197 yes, this was very helpful, thank you
What is the purpose of mixing two different mediums together
Glue helps bind your paint to the canvas as it dries. Paint already has binders mixed in and the added glue is more beneficial in adhesion. Floetrol is a paint conditioner and helps make the paint smoother on the canvas. I use both and have had great results.
What is the result of mixing glue and floetrol, I thought you could use one or the other for a medium not both mixed together
I am assuming it's a way to cut down on the cost of using straight floetrol?

Was that paint that you put in with the glue or was that something else you didn't say what it was
'Corn medium' he said with the 'glue' and 'floetrol'
@@dawnwright2063he said pouring medium not "corn medium", look at the transcript that will even say "pouring medium"
hi what is Floetrol? is that in the US? can you just mix water & glue 1:1 then 1:1 paint? thank you

I've never seen anyone mix glue all and floetrol together for pouring. Interesting

Clear glue ok?
Dave water is cheaper still!

Great tutorial I'm in Canada 🇨🇦
And our prices are extremely higher
$36.00 for glue.and $48.00 for the floetrol. Ouch hey.
Oh foe sure. Not sure what it would cost if you knew someone to ship some to you through the mail.
That's crazy I get glue for 10 to $11 a gallon what a rip off in Canada wow I feel bad for you

Dude made tacky glue
Agreed! Epic fail!
This video didn't explain anything. Waist of my time
