Oh my goodness...you are like THE FIRST of probably a hundred videos that I have watched that actually gives a comprehensive lesson on EXACTLY how your paints are supposed to look when you finish mixing them, depending on what time of pour you're doing. I have just watched your paint mix video for the first time, I wish I had seen it prior to the other 50 or so paint mixing tutorials on Utube that I have watched because you have made it quite clear to me how I can proceed to mix my acrylic paint in future with various types of paint. The other videos have done nothing for me except to confuse me. I almost gave up altogether because I have failed several times with my pouring due to the consistency of my paint. Hi Meta can you premix large amounts of paint to put in 32 oz squirt bottles ? I see artists using these large squeeze bottles and wondered if you could premix paint with Floetrol, Liquitex PM, and water, and if this affects the PM and Floetrol being stored ahead of time ? how long can the premix be stored ❤️
You can definitely mix up paint and save it for later. Water and Pouring medium last quite a wile, but I wouldn't recommend storing paints with any other additives added for long periods of timer. (meaning silicone or minwax)

No I mixed this without any miniwax. Though if it was in it I would mix the exact same way.

Not sure where I got the tip from but you can put pantyhose over the opening of the floetrol to strain it straight from the bottle. I just opened a bottle that I haven’t used in over a year and it poured out nicely with no lumps.
Good tip! Thank you!

Sorry the video didn't help you more. Unfortunately there are no exact measurements. The amount of water added to achieve consistency is going to vary depending on temperature, humidity, paint brand. I gauge consistency on how the paint from the stirring stick hits the cup. Why use Floetrol rather than Elmer's?
What happens if you don't have some of these supplies because you don't have the money to get them is it ok to not use some of these items?
There are many ways to mix paint. Some people just use water. I know others have success with glue.
One of the joys of this medium is there is so many possibilities!
