      I’m so happy to help. Just remember that this technique is for “blooms “ and not acrylic pouring . Since you use such little amounts of paint with this method, it’s not terribly costly to make the pouring medium. If you tried to use this for pouring , which requires a lot of paint , you could go broke . I’m here for any questions you might have and thank you for stopping by my channel !

    I was going to purchase her class - Shelee. idk if you saw the old videos I guess there was a big to do over the secrecy of this recipe so then Tammy Anderson put it out. I don’t think that would stop anyone from purchasing the class. They said it’s really in depth so I thank you because I can buy the stuff and follow along. I don’t have to wait until I watch it all - I knew the Aussie floetrol was a part of it so that’s on its way idk how long it’s going to take... but anyway thank you for sharing. I think you will do great... oh another great artist is Veronica Mii - Mii Paintings is her channel- she is so so inspirational. I was thinking giving this a go and making videos. Just space and time is tough. I have a 3yo girl she makes things difficult- then there is work and being tired etc. well maybe I’ll give it a try

I am confused as to how much cell activator I would actually add to my paint when I begin to to mix paints for my painting. Do I add the cell activator to the paints and if so how much and to each color??? I just don't know where and how much of it adds into the whole mix. Good vid! It's nice to see there are other Arizonans dealing with the heat issues and how it minimizes the time one can work in the garage. People from other countries are always addressing issues that stem from the cold...which as you know is not really an issue here. LOL Thanks for speaking clearly and for not having any background distractions like music, kids or animals...makes a huge difference especially when trying to learn something! Did you say the name of your Facebook group? I think I missed it. Also, what do you think makes the UK Floetrol a better cell activator? Thank you for this informative and very helpful video. I ordered 2 liters of Floetrol (not Australian) and have been using that and water as my pouring medium (as some artists suggest) and I'm not getting cells. Also the Floetrol has orangey-tan clumps of dried something in it, which has to be picked out... the big bits are easy, but the smaller bits are super hard to find until it's too late. I will have to strain it all before using it again. So, what is different about the Australian Floetrol? Does anyone know?

    • @user-pz6rl1ob6g

    Hey Jode! My name is Ashley and I live in Mesa. I’ve been attempting various paint pouring techniques for about 6 months now and I’m having the same repeated issues. I heard you say you are from Phoenix… I thought I’d take the chance to reach out to see if you would be available at all to meet in person? Maybe I could pour for you and you can kind of help me and show me what I’m doing wrong? I don’t know if you offered any classes in person I’m happy to pay, I just need some help🥰👌🏽 I look forward to hearing back from you and I love your work!! Thx so much!!

      Hi Sandra . Unfortunately it will not . It’s the cell activator slid over the paint that produces that effect . I started with silicone in my original fluid art painting so I understand the concept . They are just two different things .

    Hi, great video, thx. I am also in Phoenix area, and concerned about the heat. I am limited to using the garage only to paint. I think I will be fine if I move my paints inside the house after im done with them. what do you think? I will probably be painting in middle of night also. My question is this. Can I use my regular medium, which is usually regular floetrol, mixed with minwax wood conditioner to simulate Australian floetrol to mix my paint, then add the cell activator to that?

    • @user-pz6rl1ob6g
      @user-pz6rl1ob6g  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I painted inside for a while but boy did I make a mess. My husband is installing a splitter ac unit in the garage for me because he hates the mess. If you are trying to do a bloom you can try to use the regular floetrol but to be honest with you it’s well worth spending the $50 on the Aussie because since you are only using a little it lasts a very long time. The results with the Aussie floetrol is soooo much better. The Fluid Art company sells it and you can get it on eBay as well!

    So is it fine to substitute the Behr ultra deep base 8300 instead of the sherwin williams? Also is the colorplace a satin enamel paint w/o primer and what is the equivalent paint if I buy it at lowes? I recently bought the behr quart of white enamel but found out it had primer in it which was very hard to get off my hands so I tried to return it for one w/o primer and found out they only sell gallons of that.I would love a definitive answer as to using a base paint that has primer in it or not.Do you know the exact name of the product at Lowes and Home Depot if I can't get to Walmart? Next question,lol,I had lots of liquitex Heavy Body gorgeous colors and metallics but tried to get them to the right consistency but since I didnt know how and probably didnt mix them correctly,it didnt come out well. So can these heavy body paints be used and if so what do I mix them with to make them work prior to mixing with the PM? Next question,which BTW I wouldnt be asking you all this if I didnt want to use exactly what your using and if I didnt invest in all these products.But I am kinda wondering why I bought the jo sonja and the Gac and if that isnt necessary.Ok so that was a question also. Ok so yeah,then I went to Michals who told me to get the premixed thinner art deco and folk art paints in bottles and since the colors were beautiful and a vast selection,I bought many. But then I was told they dont have enough pigment and are too thin. But I think you used one and I have seen others use then so when they are mixed with pm and are too thin what do I use to thicken them or are they not really the best paint choice for blooms because they are lacking in pigment saturation which another youtube video claims? One thing I found in the 3 pours I have done is that I panic when the paint mixtures are too thin and idk what is supposed to be my go-to additive to thicken them.Can you please tell me what to use? Ok so next I did some research and read that artiza is highly rated as one of the best paints for acrylic pouring so I ordered a set of those. Is it or should I have chosen liquitex or something else as an over set of colors to start my pour painting journey with? You mentioned flow aid which I never heard of but I just read its description and it seems similar to floetrol so can I use the american floetrol instead or should I get that product or would it affect the overall reaction?Well you did say to ask if we have questions and since I have been trying to understand what to buy ,how to mix,why to mix what with what,and finally get to the point where I can focus on creating instead of just getting frustrated because I was confused or didnt have the patients or products to make the correct mixes from the start,I am so ready to get this right and move past this vital yet complicated phase of paint pouring.I hope I didnt overwhelm you with so many questions.If you prefer to message me I can remove this post but I thought maybe others might have some of the same questions and it might help for them to also read your response.Again thanks so much.I feel that I can once and for all learn how to do these mixes because your a great teacher and I like your way of measuring and explaining each step in a very precise manner which is what I need.

      @@user-pz6rl1ob6g so you use the Valspar in place of the shermin williams now. The rest of the recipe is the same?

      No. The valspar is much thinner. I start with 2/3 of valspar and one third polycrylic . Then if I want to thin it I add just a little polycrylic at a time .

    Thanks for sharing... was just wondering though, is this unhealthy? I've read that it's pretty toxic and should be used with a mask and ventilation. Says it may cause organ damage through prolonged or repeated exposure. I know there are issues with paint in general but this seems to be more dangerous.
    I think I was looking at the right item but everyone should do their own checking. Nothing worse than finding out doing something you did caused you or someone in your household an illness.

      Hi Beth. I am sure any chemical base used at long exposure and prolonged use could possible be unhealthy . With that being said, they have discontinued this Sherwin Williams product. We are now using the Sherwin Williams infinity base. I mix that with about 25% to 50% josonja or minwax polycrylic depending on the thickness I want the paint . We are using such little amount of paint in this particular technique that I wouldn’t be too worried as I only mix it and then use an ounce or two as needed to mix the paint . I have a huge respirator for resin and I would probably use that if I was spending a lot of time with the paint . Hope that helps!

    Oh no. Sherman Williams no longer has that untainted paint.

      You are so right !!! We can however use Sherwin Williams infinity is the deep base . It’s a gold can. It’s thinner so using less polycrylic is advised .
