At 45 this song resonates with me in a big way. Louis is young but has experienced so much pain and upheaval in his life and yet remains so positive and focused on what’s possible. I admire him so much.
this song gives me the visceral feeling of going back to your childhood home and seeing it from the outside and thinking about how a whole different family is there where you grew up and had your core memories, and you realize just how much everything's changed
Thank you for the reaction. Louis has been through so much more than he really should have. At 32, he is still young I agree, but he has had to grow up so much quicker than most lads his age. But I think this song is him talking about his grief and going back 'home' but it's different faces, different places because some people are no longer there but his responsibilities are still the same. I dunno if that makes full sense, but that has always been my interpretation on this song.
I’m close to your age so I know what you mean about looking back but I do want to point out that Louis is 32. Still young sure but old enough to have that feeling of time speeding up and life looking so very different than it did in your twenties.

Louis is such a great song writer. Every song hits you
