The drummer Aaron Spears (shown at 4:00) sadly passed away not too long after this, almost a year ago now. He was an amazing drummer and part of Ariana's band for years. Also, she has many many tattoos on her body, not just her hands. The hand tattoos she's had for years and she gets a few new ones every year.

The “unnecessary” ending with the strings is a callback to the first song on the album “skinny.” Blue is the last song on the album. Both songs end with strings/violins. And both of those songs are callbacks to “the greatest.” Both skinny and blue’s orchestral sections are parts of “the greatest” which is why the strings were absolutely necessary

Billie’s voice mixed in with the violins and strings at the end is absolutely beautiful

This is why listening to a whole album from beginning to end is so important - at least for the first listen, anyway. The orchestral outro is the same that opens the album at the end of Skinny and comes from The Greatest, which is in the middle of the album. This song has callback lines to every other song on the album, except The Diner - because that’s from the perspective of someone else (Billie’s actual stalker). But it’s hard to pick up on those things when songs from the album are listened to one at a time and weeks apart.
