  • Houston was my first stop on my adventure through Texas. Thanks to Pam and Danny, I got to experience incredible local Mexican cuisine, and the second highlight was the NASA Space Center - an absolute must-see sight while you're traveling through Texas.

In April 2017 I left Australia for a solo trip around the world on a BMW F800GS. I named it “Are We There Yet” because I don't know my final destination or the duration of this journey.
Throughout my journey, I'm raising money for a young disabled child in Poland named Franek. Franek was diagnosed with cerebral palsy (weakness of the entire right side of the body) and he will require constant rehabilitation for the rest of his life. All the money raised will go directly to helping Franek and his family lead as normal a life as possible so please donate generously: gogetfunding.com/arewethereyet/
None of that would be possible without my official sponsors:

I didn't know you were so close to my home, I would have love to have met you. I would have called in sick. Which would have been the first time I've called in sick for work in 35 years. But it would have been worth it. I ride past space center frequently, its amazing to see your journey take you across the world, only to see you pretty much at my door step. I don't have the ability to travel the world, so I'm only able to see it through your eyes. I'd love to be able to plan road trip one day. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Please ride safely, Houston is a dangerous city with lots of bad drivers.

We have a saying here in Houston, “Houston is one hour away from Houston.” People can underestimate how big it is. That food looked delicious, I’ll have to try that Mexican restaurant soon.

I'm surprised you didn't visit Kennedy Space Center when you were in Florida, Kinga. There's a bunch of cool stuff there as well, including one of the surviving shuttles (Atlantis)... but... the thing that KSC lacks is the Saturn V. There's a mock up, and if I remember correctly a Saturn IB. Seeing the real Saturn V at Houston must have been incredible. Most powerful Non-nuclear, non-war-oriented machine ever constructed.

Hey there. The food looked awfully appealing . I'm wondering how spicy it was , which is the only thing that holds me back. At the Johnson Center, the Saturn V is always amazing to behold
The IV and V's were something to witness at launch. But too , space travel is still always only a trip, not a journey, you must always come home. And in the future I hope that can change, and become a journey. Thank you for posting this video. Much appreciated. The contrast of the wonderfully shot restaurant scenes with your friends and the tour of the Center was nice.

Hi, Kinga, very interesting video. The Americans were capabele of a lot. Do you allow me to show you how capabele? I am not a knowitall. When Apollo 11 started to the moon I was 23 yo. So I read: the 5 F1 engines you passed at 15.35, with the huge exhaust pipes, consumed 2035 Ton of kerosene in 180 seconds. Therefore each of them had it's own pump to pump the kerosene from the tank to the rocket engine. This pump was driven by a gasturbine of 55000 !! HP. The exhaust gas of this gasturbine cooled!! the huge exhaust pipe..
The pilot had a ,space proven, windscreen wiper driven by a BMW motorcycle engine 😂

All I can help keep thinking about is the astronomical amount of money spent on the space effort. They say numerous space inventions do in fact trickle down into everyday life so does serve a useful purpose. Of course all the visitors must pay, I am sure it is not free.
