Another subject you should cover is non-motorcycle clothing and laundry. I use to backpack a lot and that was one subject I find no one covers. My first time I over packed clothing and 3 months later realized I was carrying stuff I still hadn't worn. People should know how little you really need to carry.

I'm a fellow TH-camr, recently subscribed. I've really enjoyed following yours and ItchyBoots travels, taking me places I'll never visit. I have a serious heart condition and came back to the bike a couple of years ago. I now ride a Monster 1200R. Keep up the great work Kinga andi hope to see you riding again soon once Corona has passed.

Hey 👋 not sure if your going to see this lol but I recently just found your channel and I love it, it's awesome to see all the country side and ppl from all walks of life that you run into. My question is how long did you save up to travel and stay traveling for undetermined amounts of time?. I noticed you camp alot rather than staying in hotels or cabins so you are on a budget or you seem to be, anyway love the channel and your doing awesome 👌 you just need 1 more thing a cooler full of beer 🍺 for finishing those long rides. cheers!!!

Why is that in such an important topic you haven't mentioned your camera gears? Those along with the camera accessories are equally critical for such vlogs. You had covered all the important areas for making the journeys but left out the ones that too are crucial for making such amazing videos.

Have you ever read "One Man Caravan " about someone going around the world on his bike in the 1920's? It's a very good read. One of those books you can read over again.

tim johnson .....thanks for this. My favourite so far is “Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance”.
In the 1920’s....omg...what the world was like then, you were really on your own ......check out the movie “The Sheltering Sky” ....Debora Winger, Jon Malkovich.
filmed early 90’s......Ca 1930, two couples off the beaten track, Middle East, one woman ends up alone early on.....

Surprised that you didn't mention anything about carrying a first aid kit. Hi Kinga,
you asked for questions - I would like to know about your communications.
As you know in Australia there are lots of places with no mobile phone coverage.
I expect the same would be true elsewhere in the world too.
If you were to have a mechanical or medical problem where there is no-one around for days, that could become serious very quickly.
Do you carry a satellite phone?
    PLB device?
    Something else?

    • @onherbike

Hi Kinga! Well, first of all - You're an absolute Star, with cojones larger than my fist (and I have big hands)!! ;)
I hear you're in Poland at the mo, so I was wondering if you'd find some time to swing (pun unintended) by my neck of the woods, and come visit me on your way at some point.
I'm a biker myself ( I've owned, among others - CB500, BMW650GS, Kawasaki Versys, BMW1200GS, and now 1988 Honda Africa Twin), and it would be absolutely lovely to pick your brains on your travels, and other bits and bobs related to your lifestyle.
I've lived half of my life abroad (incl. a year down under), and always aspired to do exactly what you're doing. I am now getting the bike ready, so it's just a matter of time (and the current situation, of course...).
Give us a shout if you'd be interested in that; I'm located near Nowy Sącz, and have a house near Jezioro Rożnowskie, where I live with my cat.
Either way, safe riding, and, again - ALL MY RESPECT !!!
    Darek

Well done Kinga! I run the C Bow- Hepco Becker system, which I've used on 3 bikes now. Obviously the brackets are unique. I love them for the same reason's as yourself plus you're not overloading the bike & less weight the hard panniers. Mine probably not big enough for your type of travelling though. There were quite a few upgrades to the BMW. I had not upgrades but accessories I needed to add to my Ducati Scrambler to bring it up to spec for any sort of comfortable touring. Previously I had a Himalayan which although a bit heavy for a 411 cc and not overly powerful, in terms of a complete set up which is very useable as is without spending a lot of money on it, they are brilliant. Highly highly underrated. Thanks for sharing your video-

@21:30 totally agree! An good off-road training on your bike ( the one you are riding ) gives you idea what you and your bike can really do. And what you can't ;). You will be amazed! This will give you knowledge and confidence. You will be less stressed => less tense => you will fall less often. :) Many major motorist associations offer trainings - check in your area.

Hi Kinga! Happy Easter! I hope this note finds you both happy and healthy. I am just getting back into motorbikes. I love your videos. I liked the walk around and the tips. I also noticed the zip ties easily accessible. And the hammer! I s’pose that’s dual purpose - tires and self defense? I think the clothing issue is confusing me the most. Boots are pretty straight forward. The jackets, pants, gloves, and layering? The prices vary greatly. Do you wear a waterproof jacket and pants or do you carry a rain shell for rain? What would recommend for layering? Best!

A suggestion for you, and anyone else riding the the third world, and your bike does NOT have a catalytic converter, if you get a chance to get some aviation gas [100LL] at an airport, carry a few liters in a spare can as if end up somewhere where you can only get say 80 octane (or lower) fuel, as say from a farmer who has some for his 60 year old 6:1 compression ratio farm tractor, mixing it with 1/3 Avgas will make a fuel that your bike can safely burn. The manufacture's recommended minimum octane requirement is for sea level, you can generally drop it about a point for each 750 meters (2500 ft) in elevation you are riding.

You should add the smallest pair of micro grip mini vise grips and a safety link for your chain. Rubber boots for front forks. I did a bit of traveling in the late 1970's, JB Weld epoxy and cable ends with set screw comes in handy too. Never clean sheilds with paper towels....they scratch them. Always replaced my headlight bulbs with off road higher wattage ones. They always state not for highway use, but never had anyone check them.

I'd recommend adding a pair of ViseGrips to your tool kit. They have many uses. Clamp, wire cutter, shift lever, ... If you ever run over the wire left from a burnt tire it will wrap around the axle so tight it will stall the bike. Very difficult to remove. I also carry a metal cutting and wood cutting Sawzall blade and you can use the ViseGrips for a handle.

First and foremost, I have to thank you for all your hard work in producing such great content. My question for you has to do with your navigation. You mentioned previously that you broke your phone, and that your Garmin(?) wasn't working. How many redundant systems do you carry? Second question, if it is not too personal. You quite often say you have long legs, etc.. How tall are you? I am 1.95m and almost 110 kg, and I find it a lot of work to handle my KTM 1290, so I was just looking for some perspective.

Thank you for the great tips, you have an awesome channel! I'm planning for one in the near future. I've done a couple of local adventures and prefer the soft luggage as you mentioned, I can't agree more. Perhaps you can add another tip to answer this question: Where do you pack your electronics with the soft luggage?

I think she packs it in the tank bag. That`s what i would do, its the safer place in my opinion and most of times you kind of use electronic stuff a lot so it is easy to reach in font of you :)

Good Job Bridgestone for sponsoring Kinga! Bridgestone tires really are a great tire in all weather conditions! I highly recommend the Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S20 tire for a sportbike!

Ciekawy jestem Twojego zdania w jednej kwestii- stabilizator karku, co myślisz o jego używaniu przy jeździe szosowej? :) Pozdrawiam ;)

Did not see a single First Aid Kit in Part 1 and Part 2 of all that you carry on your bike, I assume and hope you do carry them and if so, what are the items of First Aid Kit that you take with you on your bike?

What do you do with all the expensive gear you buy when you are done the trip? Would you know any motorbike second hand online store or what not...? :)
