Lipiflow triggered a huge inflammation in my case, confirmed by the best doctor in my country. I've had 8 IPL and experience change in skin color and fat loss, although it can be anxiety related, because anxiety can cause collagen loss.

I read a few testimonies like yours : doctors don't recognize fat loss following IPL but it does happen.

I am 32 and have had 26 IPL treatments with the Lumenis M22 over the past 4 years, most at high intensity (at 17 tragus to tragus with the large applicator, 14 with the small applicator on the upper and lower eyelids, always using metal corneal eyeshields). Personally I have only noticed positive effects on my skin, but I have a very good diet and also supplement collagen.
My glands do not clog that quickly but I find I need IPL ~every two months to control my ocular rosacea. Stopped warm compresses because they seem to make the rosacea worse.
IMO biggest thing providers can do to limit IPL energy exposure (well, not the IPL itself, but dumping the waste heat) is lift the applicator off the skin immediately after the pulse. Providers seem to forget this sometimes.
Thanks for this video and very interested to know if any reports of long term adverse effects crop up! IPL saved my life and I still depend on it.

Can you speak to the use of IPL in conjunction with the LLLT mask? Could this not reduce the need for as many IPL treatments?

Thank you, thank you, for your thoroughness and clarity. You explained the at-home eye treatment better than I've ever heard it.

Hi Dr! What are your thought on meibomian gland probing? Is it safe for the glands? Also what is better.. Expression vs probing or both together?
