Q60 owner he..sorry M340i owner here 🥹 Car is a 2020 M340i with an M Performance Exhaust from the dealer. Completely stock otherwise. It’s got 76K KMs (45K miles), so I’m happy it’s still scooting. I did another roll with the Stinger off camera and it pulled 1-2 cars on me. I believe it got heat soaked in the filmed digs/rolls.
Dependable tech with the RaceBox measuring device! Dragy was a bit too spotty to be dependable at that location. I'm likely gonna get one with Sams discount

23 M340i here. Amazing machine. Torque is underrated by 50 ftlbs. The ZF8 is an incredible pairing with the b58 and its hard to match how hard it pulls in a similarly powered vehicle

Jb4 Stinger should not be losing to the stock M 340i.I ran 12.56 seconds with my stock 2023 Stinger Gt Elite at Napierville in Montreal. The jb4 Stingers were running between 11.75 and 11.9 .The jb4 tune and intakes as well as spark plugs raise the hp from 368 stock to 500.
My 2021 stinger gt awd with the torq motorsports tcu tune with matching ecu bolth for under 600 bucks did a dragy 0-60 in 3.5 sec that's with me burning the hell out of all tires and that was only stage 1

Stinger owner here : Thank you sam for a fun day. Gotta say That B58 is no joke. But on stinger community defense lol. My stinger was on winters one. 2nd my first and second gear change was very rough this time probably needs transmission service as its high mileage. Otherwise on roll you could see difference and we did another 60 roll off video and i was pulling by one or one and half car And when i also checked my logs for jb4 i was pulling a lots of timings everyone has their bad days lol. Otherwise my 1/4 mile is 12 flat and 12.1 on map 2. But that day i was running 12.5-12.4 max.
Ah new there was something to it. Did you reset your fuel trims before the runs? My car is faster on map2 vs map3 on 93 fuel. Poor fuel quality is likely the issue. Also do you shift it yourself?
@@boostedstinger i use 91 on regular days. I was on 93 on that day but i did draggy runs i was not getting anywhere close to the numbers i was getting before. And my gear shifts if u see on video was the only reason my car was slowing down bad. Im gonna get it checked as its not normal. It was all auto shifting. When we checked logs it was pulling alot of timings.
@TH-camr go out and unhook your battery for about 10 min or so to reset your fuel trims and run draggy again. Also shift it manually from 1 to 2 to avoid boost drop. I've put approximately 70,000 miles on my car and there are a lot of dragstrip or draggy runs lol. Do you still have factory plugs? I like to think I've learned a lot about the platform in that time so I have some decent info lol.
An M340i is just a beast, no way around it. The gearing and peak torque is just unmatched(on top of being underrated). But I was surprised to see this Kia Stinger hang with it as close as it did. It could probably beat it on E30 and Lap 3.
That stinger is definitely not on Map3 with a 12.9 1/4 mile. Please dont give BMS a bad name. If that car was really on a JB4 the BMW would stood no chance.
Really thinking about picking up a Kia Stinger gt2. Love the look, especially the white, or the grey color on them. Just not sure how much aftermarket support is offered for them.

@@latino914 stock stinger vs stock isf the ISF will take the win Also the ISF in Drive mode shifts like slow manual transmissions , you can hear it in the video it takes like a whole second between each gear In the M mode it will be completely different animal , it will shift so quick and you will notice a big improvement in performance
@Marc Mars I still don't think that in manual mode it's going to make up that gap I'm a fan of those isfs but the factor of the matter is that it's old technology and those 8spd transmissions have never been the greatest either I would have actually preferred it in a manual if they would have came in that option a short gear ratio manual would have done it justice especially from a roll with a good driver that drives it like he stole it lol

BMW not stock. On AutoTopNL channel a stock M340i had a best of 11.6 seconds from 100 to 200 km/h. And a Stock IS-F had 9.9 seconds from 100 to 200 km/h.

even on stage 1 i was pulling several car lengths on a Stinger GT in my 2016 340i... Now running MHD stage 2+ (e40 mix) with Supra TU pump and MHD flex fuel sensor (allows switch between ethanol and 93 without a reflash)

How do you put a decade old rwd car up against brand new awd cars?? The awd and technology are more important the the power. Obviously under 60 the isf will have the traction disadvantage. But the isf also has longer gears and most importantly its naturally aspirated. The two boosted cars are gonna hold stronger at the high end and hold a broader torque band. The lineup doesnt make sense too me..... Also the isf seemed to be shifting terribly. I know the isf didnt have a particularly good trans from the factory but it wasnt bad. Maybe it wasnt in the right mode? That kia stinger is way to underated tho. Kias are solid cars!
Why is the Isf not in sport manual mode, it's significantly slower in normal auto, it's like an eco mode. On purpose to make it look slower ? I'm sure the owner knew about shift speed and acceleration difference.
kinda frustrating because every F on this channel does this and its makes them look way slower than they really are. Only the IS500 was driven properly but that car wasn't even faster than this ISF if they were both driven properly.

In this case it's a known fact that M340i has more than 380hp. More like 400+. So it's not a surprise that a 400HP Stinger GT with more weight is slower.

Not surprised at all at the outcome of this race! Most people know that BMW puts out more Bhp than stated, while I'm starting to believe Lexus is more of a top end monster, because it almost never beats its rivals in the quarter mile! Kia has come a long way!!
I had a RWD and an AWD Stinger GT2. Both did 12.9 1/4 mile times 100% stock. I ran a 12.12 with the RWD GT2 in Map 2 with just the snorkels and no other mods. Something was seriously wrong with the Stinger in this video. He was running stock times.
@@SamCarLegion was it AWD or RWD? Only the RWD Stingers have traction issues. Plus, the 0-60 mph time of just over 4 seconds is fine. He isn’t spinning if he is getting that 0-60 mph time without a boosted launch. He was losing it on the top end which indicates he was running too much boost for the fuel he had in it. He probably would have been faster in Map 2. A 12.9 for a modified Stinger is pretty terrible. I ran a 12.62 with just the snorkels he had and no other mods. Stock intake box and stock exhaust. No JB4 and straight 93 Octane.

My bone stock IS-F ran a 12.7 @ 111 back in the day…. You didn’t do that car any justice by not running it in Manual Sport mode and shifting it yourself with the paddle shifters.

LAP3 tuned stinger here. 500whp. Look online for lap3 stinger quarter mile times. They run 11.2 easy fully loaded. Bolt ons, a tune, and water/meth or E30 to support the increase in power and required cooling properties is what’s needed to get there.
Tuned vs un tuned is always a stupid comparison, because everyone knows those m340i b58 motors get like 500hp on a stage one tune and would embarass both these cars
Pretty much what I expected. The Lexus V8 is smooth and reliable but it's has no balls at all. Even in the new IS500 its a huge disappointment. The BMW is just the class of this race period
Loved this format. I think throwing in the part from your earlier ones and where the would end up behind the winner will now work after seeing the races. Only need to show fastest time from each car. Adding a trap speed would also be nice if possible. I like this format the best so far

MY 2021 stock G70 Went 12.64 on dragy. These numbers and results seem off. The stinger should have pulled much harder on the top end.

ISF driver had it in drive/auto mode. That's why he got smoked. You HAVE to drive the ISF in manual mode as it increases shift speeds.

Also the ISF in Drive mode shifts like slow manual transmissions , you can hear it in the video it takes like a whole second between each gear
In the M mode it will be completely different animal , it will shift so quick and you will notice a big improvement in performance
@Marc Mars I still don't think that in manual mode it's going to make up that gap I'm a fan of those isfs but the factor of the matter is that it's old technology and those 8spd transmissions have never been the greatest either I would have actually preferred it in a manual if they would have came in that option a short gear ratio manual would have done it justice especially from a roll with a good driver that drives it like he stole it lol

BMW not stock.
On AutoTopNL channel a stock M340i had a best of 11.6 seconds from 100 to 200 km/h. And a Stock IS-F had 9.9 seconds from 100 to 200 km/h.
It definitely has an exhaust system. A stock m340i doesn't sound like that.

@@avis1978My 2022 M340 is just as loud but much less pops and bangs. It is surprisingly loud from factory. I even asked if it had a modified exhaust when I first started it.
even on stage 1 i was pulling several car lengths on a Stinger GT in my 2016 340i... Now running MHD stage 2+ (e40 mix) with Supra TU pump and MHD flex fuel sensor (allows switch between ethanol and 93 without a reflash)

How do you put a decade old rwd car up against brand new awd cars?? The awd and technology are more important the the power. Obviously under 60 the isf will have the traction disadvantage. But the isf also has longer gears and most importantly its naturally aspirated. The two boosted cars are gonna hold stronger at the high end and hold a broader torque band.
The lineup doesnt make sense too me.....
Also the isf seemed to be shifting terribly. I know the isf didnt have a particularly good trans from the factory but it wasnt bad. Maybe it wasnt in the right mode?

Why is the Isf not in sport manual mode, it's significantly slower in normal auto, it's like an eco mode. On purpose to make it look slower ? I'm sure the owner knew about shift speed and acceleration difference.
kinda frustrating because every F on this channel does this and its makes them look way slower than they really are. Only the IS500 was driven properly but that car wasn't even faster than this ISF if they were both driven properly.

I've seen other vids where the ISF does better against these cars. Would definitely like to see a re-run in optimal sport & manual settings and a roll race.

@@billnye5183 Nop! BMW likes to underrate their cars engine hp. I think they do this on purpose to make their cars look faster than their competitors with the "same" hp. In this case it's a known fact that M340i has more than 380hp. More like 400+. So it's not a surprise that a 400HP Stinger GT with more weight is slower.
IS F debuted back in 2007. 16 years ago and it's being compared to modern turbocharged cars. 😊

Not surprised at all at the outcome of this race! Most people know that BMW puts out more Bhp than stated, while I'm starting to believe Lexus is more of a top end monster, because it almost never beats its rivals in the quarter mile! Kia has come a long way!!
My buddies stinger with just a jb4 ran a 12.3 at 115.
Imagine a tuned M340i
I had a RWD and an AWD Stinger GT2. Both did 12.9 1/4 mile times 100% stock. I ran a 12.12 with the RWD GT2 in Map 2 with just the snorkels and no other mods. Something was seriously wrong with the Stinger in this video. He was running stock times.

@@SamCarLegion was it AWD or RWD? Only the RWD Stingers have traction issues. Plus, the 0-60 mph time of just over 4 seconds is fine. He isn’t spinning if he is getting that 0-60 mph time without a boosted launch. He was losing it on the top end which indicates he was running too much boost for the fuel he had in it. He probably would have been faster in Map 2. A 12.9 for a modified Stinger is pretty terrible. I ran a 12.62 with just the snorkels he had and no other mods. Stock intake box and stock exhaust. No JB4 and straight 93 Octane.

It was the weather. All 3 cars were running slower than they should.

The stinger needs to be on e30 and map 5, plus the brake boost mod to be on the same level as the stock B58 setup.
Is the Kia owner here? If so can you tell us what Map 3 is supposed to be? That sure seemed stock. Or the m340i wasn’t stock.

My bone stock IS-F ran a 12.7 @ 111 back in the day…. You didn’t do that car any justice by not running it in Manual Sport mode and shifting it yourself with the paddle shifters.

@L B I run 11.90's with just intakes jb4 and e30 in my stinger. Look at my channel. Of course the BMW will be faster. Way more aftermarket support.
LAP3 tuned stinger here. 500whp. Look online for lap3 stinger quarter mile times. They run 11.2 easy fully loaded. Bolt ons, a tune, and water/meth or E30 to support the increase in power and required cooling properties is what’s needed to get there.
Tuned vs un tuned is always a stupid comparison, because everyone knows those m340i b58 motors get like 500hp on a stage one tune and would embarass both these cars

Pretty much what I expected. The Lexus V8 is smooth and reliable but it's has no balls at all. Even in the new IS500 its a huge disappointment. The BMW is just the class of this race period
Loved this format. I think throwing in the part from your earlier ones and where the would end up behind the winner will now work after seeing the races. Only need to show fastest time from each car. Adding a trap speed would also be nice if possible.

Lexus couldn’t hook or something is not right because I can manage a 12.9 in my lightly modded is350 so I for sure know a F can do better than a 13.5
