Please never worry what others say about the look of your meals!! You’re feeding nine people from scratch, nursing a baby, homeschooling five kids full time, washing clothes, washing dishes, keeping your home clean, meal planning, dehydrating food, grinding oats, grinding different wheats, making sure chores are done, making sure all the animals survive the day, and I’m sure much more. Plus everything required to run a TH-cam channel!
I don’t know of many other 42 year olds capable of completing nearly as much as you do every day!

My theory, if folks have a holyer than thou attitude about the way a house other than their own is ran they can either man up and shut up and pitch in doing the doing or shut up and run away 'cause if they are going to kvitch they are of no good use just tasteless salt and clanging cymbals completely worthless. If they see doing not being done and pitch in they are a friend.

Jessica: I woke up 20 minutes early today bc the dog needed to go outside. The deal I made with myself is that if you had uploaded your video already, I would go ahead and get up for the day. (And make coffee and watch your video.) If not, I would go back to sleep 😂 You had uploaded, so here I am! All that to say, I look forward to your Sunday uploads - a little “me time” and inspiration before church!

Me Too!! Truly enjoy them. I do feel bad when you have to address the naysayers. I don't care what something looks like if it's yummy and you and your family enjoy it. Who cares. I've made some ugly rustic dinners and loved the end product. Sorry you have to apologize to some viewer beforehand. You rock mama..

I know people make negative comments about the appearance of some of your food. It used to drive me crazy you felt you needed to explain. Then i realised most people really dont know what real food is. You are educating them. If they only knew what they were missing... My mouth waters when i watch you cook. It's REAL food!! Not plastic processed pretty little pieces of nothingness! Don't even get me started on how much better real food taste!!!
I applaud you for sticking to your high standards! I was raised eating homemade and my kids were raised the same way! We are much healthier because of it. God bless😁

You might try making your pancakes or johnny cakes by pouring the batter into cookie sheets and baking instead of cooking on the stovetop. Just cut into squares to serve. They bake in a short time so even if you have to do a couple of rounds in the oven it's still faster than flipping that many pancakes on the stovetop. I find using parchment paper or foil and a little cooking spray or oil makes them release from the pan easier.

I am single and you are still such an inspiration for me 🥰 I make my own overnight oats/chia pudding, it’s a combination of chia seeds, oats, soy protein powder, and soy milk. I am allergic to cows milk. I have been so so careful with my berries from the summer, but now I am thinking about you and that it is actually January and I have plenty so I can just enjoy them while they are still good. I found a box of both blueberries and raspberries that was a little freezer burned, and a bit gowey. Totally find to eat, but I should just eat them, not portion out 3 at a time 😅 Lord willing there will come more, and I have a lot more, and other berries too. We can’t just preserve and don’t enjoy it, and trusting the Lord with that there will come more, and we should eat up while it’s good is a good lesson.
I love seeing how you feed your family and make do of what you have.
    Thank you for sharing!

If your lemons and other citrus items are organic then you can make some powerful anti-virals with the peels. Sliced lemon peels and raw honey makes an excellent healing tea. Also I've really enjoyed making my own homemade bio-enzyme cleaner with citrus peels and some yeast. It's excellent for laundry, plumbing and even minor fungal control in your garden! Could make some fun science projects and would give you options while supply chain issues last. All the best to you and your family 😁🙏🏽

Cooking dairy free is tough! I got bite by a tick last year so I have Alpha gal syndrome now and am deathly allergic to all red meats and pork along with all dairy, cheese, gelatine, some medications and vaccines and I cannot be around any fumes while those meats are cooking. My husband has been so sweet and supportive. We had to switch to all birds and seasfoods. Lots of veggies and fruits. All wholefoods.
Alpha gal is a carb that mammals produce... so while we can eat mammals and be OK, if it gets into our blood stream we react... I had anaphylaxis... my throat, mouth, tongue, cheeks, and even the top of my head swelled up, all different times, but 6 times in just 1wk... my stomach was so swelled up with in a 4mo period that my OB Dr. checked for a baby and then cancer... but then we found out what I had at the allergist and it all made sense... but after so many reaction so close together I decided that benadryl wasn't cutting it and went to Urgent care... from there I was put on a heavy dose of ceterizine, benadryl, monalucast, and prednisone... got into a allergist and he did the skin prick test and blood work and it was found in my blood. But it's OK :-) I am alive and enjoying learning how to cook differently! :-)

Jessica as always it's a pleasure watching what you create and I thought of you as I put away boxes and boxes of canning jars that I need to do some serious canning up. We had our waterline replaced 3 weeks ago ( outside) then our inside waterlines got messed up ( corrosion worked loose during the outside work) so I've been waiting on insurance to pay for the plumbers to come back out so in the meantime I am not trusting of canning anything with corroded water we've been filtering what we drink. Wednesday they'll be here to replace the lines so definitely will be doing a lot of canning to fill those jars back up. We were home all last week with the big C and so thankful for my pantries and freezers we bought absolutely nothing from the stores except a bottle of Nyquil and Kleenex. Praise the Lord I am now Negative. Its taught me a lot about what being prepared means thankful I listened to God over the years and stocked up on a lot of blankets, towels and sheets since I don't have a washing machine because of the low pressure.. we did fine. Hannah is looking so healthy and happy thank you for sharing her and the kids. Anna In Ohio

Hats off to you! I am an empty nester and during the shut downs while my husband was working from home I decided to cook 3 meals a day. It lasted maybe a week! 🙂 Part of the problem was just timing "lunch" vs his meetings but the main problem was that it was HARD work! We quickly went back to our routine of - he is on his own for breakfast, lunch was last nights leftovers then I cook a good meal for dinner plus extra for lunch the next day. You are a super mom! Now go sit down for a minute with your feet up and a cup of tea because you earned it.

I liked the organization of your meals. The food looked delicious-even the rustic biscuits! Adam did well in bringing you the flowers. His words and deeds teach the girls how they should be treated by a male and the boys how they should treat a female in the future, in my opinion. (Far, far off in the future.) Sweet Hannah is growing fast!
Thank you for your inspiration Jessica. ❤

I am doing the pantry challenge for the first time this year. I've been able to clear out all those odds and ends that find themselves lost in my pantry and freezer. I appreciate your videos so much to get meal plan ideas. I tried your carrot souffle this week, it was delicious!

Always love seeing a new video from you -- also I'm glad it hasn't happened for you but I have had Pyrex explode when put under the broiler, I looked it up after it happened and it said they aren't guaranteed for anything over 425, maybe your pans are different but just thought I should comment in case! :) Probably because you have baked it awhile before raising the temp it isn't a problem, but in case there is the possibility just wanted to mention it.

On busy mornings I baked my pancake mix in a sheet pan then all I had to do is cut squares which made breakfast go faster. Also a sheet pan with a rack and I’d load it with sausages so a pan of each was ready quickly……I’d always do extra to have for another Sunday breakfast …..
Can you freeze fresh ground flour to keep it longer….?

I don't even own a muffin tin so I have always just made a muffin "cake" too. But if we make cupcakes I just set cupcake liners in a pan kinda squeezed together and fill them up and bake.

HicJessica. A trick to cutting brownies is to use a plastic knife. It doesn’t stick and slices right through without shredding.

Truly enjoyed this format you used to share your meals for the week. I've been following the challenge (single, retiree) this month and finding that it worked well! i've only purchased fresh fruits and vegetables, and almond milk (I don;t eat much dairy these days). The challenge broadened my perspectives on how I should be putting up food. I don't have a working garden, but the spring and summer brings a farmer's market within walking distance which I gladly support. I used up the last of the produce from my November purchases around Christmastime and I'm thinking that I need to invest time in canning so I'll have a store of those veggies all winter long. This challenge has been an eye opener for me. Thank you for coming up with the concept!

I enjoyed your video very much! Such a nice thing to look forward to every Sunday! My grandmother had 13 children, all home births from the early 1900suntil 1935. I loved her stories of the farm, and the old days. She had 37 grandchildren, and I was towards the end of that line, but I got so much knowledge and attention from her, I felt like I could have been the first one. she canned into her eighties. She always wore a sunbonnet outdoors in the summer. I get the same feeling watching your videos, as when grandma told us about her younger days! love your gluten free ideas, (I am trying it for psoriasis) and it's is helping. Also dicing up the pork chops for the younger kids, and having Adam clean off the bones👍
