Oh my gosh, super amateur mistake with the link in the subject, I have corrected it and thanks to those who pointed it out. The correct link if you want to find more info on Free Camping in Florida is: www.gonewiththewynns.com/fabulous-free-camping-florida
For those asking about restrictions, number of days allowed to stay, and more links to the free camping sites just click the link, there is loads more info within the article on our site.
And thanks to all those wonderful comments, it means a lot to have a community on TH-cam that is 99% happy people and not the online "trolls" that some video comments are plagued with.

The video looks much better in this episode! Exposure looks great, must have been great diffused light in the canopy.

Ok Jason, you're a pro so I wouldn't expect less, but just because you are doesn't mean you shouldn't get praise. This video was gorgeous. Nikki was in perfect focus and the color was spot on. Depth of field I think was what made this video. So anyway, congratulations. Oh yeah, I did watch for content but it was info. Took it in and all, but I don't normally comment. Two thumbs up.

Just a correction, your information caused us all kinds of problems. "Equestrian" does not mean for RV's and "Primitive" does not mean for tents. Primitive simply means DRY camping, but certainly ok for RV's. At Potts Preserve, the Equestrian sites were 8 miles inland away from the river and any actual campsites, it was just a field. We switched to the Primitive area where the other campers were along the river. Heads up for anyone who might make this mistake!! We lost one day of camping, plus by the time we figured it out the good sites were booked.

It is actually called the Florida water management districts. There are five of them. Most have primitive free camping. However, most camping is done at the state forests( very cheap), WMA's , national forests, COE areas, and county lands. There are no BLM lands in Florida. Those are mainly west of the Mississippi.

I think it would be a cool idea and it would also show future RVers (and me ;) )some challenges/obstacles or just sort of everyday life in an RV. But anyways love the channel and the content! :)

We are new to RVing and last year stayed at State Parks which we loved a lot. We have a small travel trailer and would like to try the free camping. We will be going to Fla the first week in April. I went to your site and did not understand how to find free camping in south florida. Can you give me some pointers and maybe some detailed advice?

  • @K7CARadio
    @K7CARadio 9 ปีที่แล้ว

Excellent! I was thinking about doing the southern route across the country to Florida a couple months ago, but was disenchanted with all the negative reports on little boondock type camping. I suppose you'll have all the Floridians banging on your door now that you spilled the beans. :) That looks like a beautiful spot to camp and only see one other person. I'll have to bookmark your free spots, there's always next year. Thanks for the video. PS, I get a 404 error, so did too many complain about your info or is your website down?

When you pull your vehicle like that is there a tow mode on it or are you actually putting miles on its odometer, if so would a small car trailer be an option, Im sure backing in that configuration is not suggested.
    Thanks for your videos!

One of your more basic (and endearing) videos.
As an engineer, and a professional that manages our law office, and someone that plans an extended trip around the U.S., I really enjoy the places you manage to find are more remote and primitive. We much-prefer those sites where we can boondock and not have to worry about law enforcement and government types looking into our every movement.
If you can come up with some more remote destinations, then we would love to continue to watch. However, your "foofoo" destinations of your past videos leave us wanting.

+Gone with the Wynns Good topic, and always helpful to correct misconceptions, such as there is no wild camping in Florida. On that note, I'd like to correct a mistake in your presentation.
You said that the organization that owns the land is called "Florida Water Management". Not so. Water Management is a career field or an academic area. The property that you stayed on belongs to one of Florida's Water Management _Districts_. They are state agencies and each one's name begins with a word to indicate location, such as "Southwest Florida Water Management District".
I know people are posting videos on TH-cam that they make on the fly, to help each other, etc., but you've crossed over into another category in which you're presenting yourselves as authoritative, and likely doing this commercially. So, a higher standard of accuracy is appropriate.
Otherwise, thanks for the good information.
