It’s literally not even a year old 😂 you’re making out it’s ancient and technology has evolved so much since. So it’s such a shock it competes. Although in my eyes it’s not even close to the iPhone.

Something the Pixel does very well is keep colors true making it much easier to edit the pictures in post without losing detail.
I think that's the downfall of it, sometimes the post processing does make the colors good, but it loses detail.
Even editing the raw. It seems like it's doing something between the sensor and the raw file.
Try taking a picture of the moon when it shows during the day. If you are patient you can get it incredibly sharp with the 30 times zoom.
After you take the picture though, it gets much more blurry.

You can save pictures as RAW files if you want to keep the true colours
@@stevenswall 100%. The pixels camera lives and dies by its AI post processing which can be great or terrible depending on your use case.
i had the pixel and it is decent but theres so many bugs and issues with the phone, the processor gets really hot and drops internet and the camera app is glitchy

What will I say?
1st. The best camera comparison I've ever seen. Extremely detailed and made with great care and attention... words are not enough to describe the quality of the material produced here in this comparison.
2nd. Hard to choose a better one... in terms of versatility maybe I'll go with the Samsung, but all are excellent devices, maybe the 12s Ultra is a little behind, mainly because of the front and the lack of software optimization.

@@marksouthwell4490 Not at all; I have the Pixel 7 Pro while my brother has an iPhone 14 and an S22 Ultra. Every shot that come out of my P7 Pro are objectively better than his phones'. Granted, the sensors in 14 and 14 Pro are different, the post processing is the same though.

Nick man you blew me away with this video. It was the best camera comparison I've ever seen. The hard work and dedication you put into it. Also not heavily pushing for one phone in a biased way was really amazing. I think we all can agree if you pick up one of these phones. You are getting a great camera. I still love my S22 ultra over all the others. I love the over saturation on a lot of photos. I like my photos to look better than what I am seeing. Some people don't but I don't like dull pictures. Vibrant life for me lol Now if I want to have a life like photo I'll use Expert Raw. They usually come out exactly like what I am looking at. The versatility of this camera is just amazing.

S22 ultra is a practical phone with great camera capabilities. Not to forget it's an year old phone.

@@808.sfx_ a game changer… it’s gonna be another small incremental jump like every year with phones. You lot are so gullible and easily fooled. Samsung just put big numbers in their specs and you all wet yourself. 200mp… what a gimmick. Don’t see top level pro DSLR cameras with 200mp, so it is no more than just a gimmick.
@@ESKATEUK You seem like a pure hater... 200mpx is so that they can dim it down to 12 even more and get better low light aswell as crazy detailed photos if wanted to. Sure its nothing groundbreaking but since the S22U is already at least matching the others, its just gonna overleap all of them.
@@froznfire9531 I'm using on my Xiaomi 12T Pro 12GB/256GB the 200 to 50 MP mode when I have decent lighting and it handles even slightly darker areas just fine. On bright days I toggle it back to 200MP when I really want a photo of something. Binning mode is mostly used during the evening but the 50 MP mode worked better than I initially thought and I've kept using it for example taking photos of cars and motorcycles (which is my passion and I work as a secretary, acting as a sub photographer in my car club which the 50MP mode really takes good shots!).
Long story short, 200 MP has it uses on this large sensor but for me the hidden gem is 50 MP, I'm actually amazed. Seems to take better pictures than my old iPhone 12 Pro, only being worse in night shots. And video ofc is pretty much always the iPhone's strong point.
But given the price... 12T Pro is really something to take a second look at.
The included 120W charger, optional 67W charger when not in a rush, Xiaomi car charger is rated 100W so I'm pretty much ALWAYS in my sweetspot 20-85% in less than 15 minutes when I charge.

Actually the S22 Ultra has a ToF camera (Time of Flight) which is basically just recording 3d Images / depth if objects. You can make 3d models because of that. It also provides data to the AI that enhance the pictures and videos.
The iPhone has a similar sensor in the lidar sensor, but the lidar sensor on the iPhone is only used for AF in Night Portrait Mode and Cinematic Mode

Any source about this? I've tried to search info about the S22 ultra having ToF sensor and pretty much nothing comes out. I have it and the 3D scanner app from Samsung is not supported.

iPhone 14 Pro Max is better than S22 Ultra because:
1. It has a better camera system

@@stevenmejia2632 I cannot say that iphone here has significantly better camera ;) battery on s22u is good enough. Powerful for what ? Open app 00000.1 sec faster lol ? And sound is also ok on s22u.
Also s22u has better zoom, better os and it's fully customizable. Oh and we can play ps2 , GameCube, Wii games on emulator.

I have a Samsung while my wife has an iPhone.
Honestly, I like how the iPhone's camera is so reliable, just point and shoot and the picture will probably be great. On the Samsung I kind of use to take several pictures and then choosing which one was the best.
However, for absolutely everything else I prefer my Galaxy.. 😂👍

I was expecting a nice comparison but there you have reached heights !!! Everything is there, you just have to pause on each capture and have all the information you want on each toy. Very clever and informative, we immediately recognize the faults and qualities of each in their respective fields. Did you use the 12S Ultra in authentic or vivid? I am a proud owner of the xiaomi 12s ultra.
But i think, all of this phones perform great in One of the category's.
God I love the results from the Pixel 7 Pro. Makes me happier I chose it over the iPhone and the S22 Ultra.
I think this is the best phone camera review i have ever seen... great work.. also what version of the s22 ultra are you using the exynox or the snapdragon, because i have seen a great difference mine has the snapdragon and the picture it takes looks like reflex pictures if the light is right, and 108 pictures are something else.. the front camera on mine for some reason takes better photos than your examples ... I also have the iphone 13 pro max just in case a fan comment comes along, samsung is on another level with the camera.. 4k video still is a little bit better in some situations with the iphone... but not all..

We don't have Xiaomi in the States but always thought their camera system was good but after watching this, I personally don't like it. I own a iPhone 13 Pro Max and Samsung S20 Ultra. Use the iPhone for Video and portrait while the Samsung for extreme zoom and 108 MP normal shooter. We have an iPhone 14 Pro Max in the house, the 48MP is fantastic with really crisp photos but takes up way too much space. I can't get rid of my S20 because I have a 256G card in the memory slot. Great video!

Just got a iPhone 14 pro max, testing out the camera and it’s quite nice.
It’s not as good as my DSLR setup but that’s to be expected.
Although using a gimbal with the iPhone 14 is a game changer.

Nice video. I'd have been more interested in several examples and situations of the same lenses for regular daylight usage, as opposed to how much time you spent on very specific and rarely used night mode situations - although I can appreciate how comprehensive the test is because of that.

It seems, it depends on your own usecase to decide which is the best for you. In this test I'd go with the iphone, even if I've the 7 pro. For me Google has the most natural camera, but sometimes it's toooo natural. Close to dreary.
But I could work with each of them I guess.

Probably one of the most detailed and best camera comparisons I have seen in a while. Every phone here outperformed the other at some aspect eg:- iphone had better video, pixel had better photos, xiaomi had a good night mode, samsung had good zoom etc. What phone people buy depend on what they want to use the camera for. I'd pick the iphone 14 pro max if I had to choose only 1 camera. Excited to see what the next samsung flagship brings to the table though.

12s ultra looks worse in daylight not because it's bad, but the other phones are pushing HDR heavily making the photos look "pleasant" and "well exposed" all throughout. 12s ultra works like a real camera in this regard

the point is when we compare nightmode photos ,we should not only look at the quality.
The time it takes to take photo is also of paramount importance.
For instance ,the xiaomi only have to take a second almost instant to take one night photo

Damn, Pixel and Xiomi are in the race now. Outperformed with the cameras... I use Samsung Ultra but Pixel looks like it will be competing with Samsung if they keep updating their specs every year... Grt job Google
Indefinitely agree with your assessment. The iPhone was best for videos, but was very surprise to see it lose out in some video scenarios, like night time portrait front facing video. When it comes to photos, they all did well. But that Xiaomi lens thought... I think it will be the best for videos and photos in manual mode.

DxO doesnt seem to make realistic reviews since the last years, I wouldnt rely on that. But would be interesting to see nonetheless, although I would doubt many people plan on buying it
I think considering absolutely everything, the iPhone and Pixel are the best in my opinion. The only time I really saw the Pixel fail was portrait video at night, which is a niche scenario.
Finally someone who says it, I don't get how so many prefer the s22 looking like a pixar movie in every scenario

I'm the most impressed by iphone actually, such a consistent camera, looks similar at every mode and condition...
Also, did you turn off the "ai or auto night mode" on android's because samsung looks weirdly good at 13:26 for example and barely changed with night mode, doesn't seem fair to me.

Not really, in my experience it lags constantly and technology really doesnt change all that much in a year so I don't see how that's a flex and every photo looks like a cartoon
