Part of today's problems stem from Madrox running down the AOL & scrapping the youth teams by selling off the youngsters. This left no succession of players coming through to the first team. The current owners aren't simply looking for players for todays first team, but players for the future. Not all will make the grade obviously, but part of the model is to improve them to become saleable assets in the future, which doesn't mean selling your best players.
