wow, that cat had a lucky escape at 7:15! ...great compilation but the Deltics win it.....that drone is just like nothing else. Unlike most diesels the Deltics have a distinctive sound. The modern diesels sound quieter and more refined. Would have liked to have seen a 'Thumper' included here!
Lucky cat , cat probably cat thinking not to worry its only a tractor they go slow, ohh wait a minute this tractor is fast better hurry lol. Amazing video
That cat had it well under control: 1. Evaluate oncoming speed and distance of train. 2. Determine optimum paw rotation to freak driver whilst still ensuring safe passage across tracks. 3. Once committed to the sprint do not swish tail or think about mouse or other felines, just get to other side. 4. After crossing complete forget about it and look to secure dinner. 5. Say nothing to owner once home. 6. At home purr loudly and dream that winding up train drivers is cat sport. Hey Dude, nothing happened :)
Thanks for sharing that, nice locations and good sound, after a lifetime of only liking steam, I'm just starting to appreciate the great British engineering that went into our older diesels
Great sounds and visual effects. Brought back memories of travelling on BR in the sixties and seventies, when we used to call 47s 'Brush Type 4s' Spotted the cat using up one of its lives. Would have liked to have known the names of all the stations and other locations. Thanks.
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed. Location information is usually incorporated within my videos or their associated descriptions; however, I understand this video did not include this information.
the train hauled by a little 20 class at each end, what is thst doing? weed spraying perhaps or steam cleaning in and around the sleepers and rail connection? We had similar looking units to the 20s in South Australia. The 800 class built by English Electric in Brisbane in the mid fifties. One out of the ten has been preserved.
I think this one is a rail head treatment/sandite train, it cleans the rail head and sprays a traction improving compound on the rail head. Much needed in autumn, when leafs on the rail make it slippery and impair the traction of the fast accelerating but relative light electric/diesel multiple units. In the past with heavier and slower steam and diesel locomotives this was less of an issue, they would run the rail clean by themselves after a couple of trains had passed.
The deltics always sounded freat, probably the best sounding ever The sulzers though had a magical sound The humble class 24 to 27 sounded magical on idle.
You guys would all love the sound of The 48 class alco's they haul coal and grain with here in Australia they have a big throaty burble to them and they usually are made up of quad loco's and 70 carriages ( bins) . Absolutely love the sound of them working hard
Many of these older locomotives are on heritage railways. Seeing some of these locomotives on the main line can be somewhat more difficult. Class 20's can often be seen out of York, during October and November, as they operate on what are called "Rail Head Treatment Trains". Class 37's can often be seen operating out of Derby, on "test trains". These test trains have various destinations around the country. Many class 47's are based at Carnforth with West Coast Railways, whilst class 56's are often seen at Leicester and Washwood Heath.
Great compilation, missing just the tat Whistler class 40. I think also class 20 was underestimated for their thrash even though pretty under powered compare to the rest. Brings back fantastic carefree years as a keen spotter in the 70s
Outstanding thrash compilation Kyle, great work! Thought 55007 at 2.20 was a moped before she appeared!! Until the 334 drags up here I never knew how noisy the Deltics could be! Understand the Napier engines are actually two stroke - found that hard to believe, but true. The sound quality on the video was excellent, do you use an external mic and if so, what make is it? I use a Panasonic to match my cam. Thanks. Ken
Thank you, Ken. It's surprising how loud the Deltics can be - 55007 (55022) certainly being no exception. All footage recorded here utilised the internal microphone with my camcorder, but an external microphone is something I'm looking to upgrade to in the near future.
Great video and thanks for the upload Is the one at 6.00 min a 2 stroke diesel ? Just started a fascination with old diesel trains especially the awesome class 37
While they're still not as impressive as older, unsilenced locos, a few clips in this show that modern traction (even sheds!) can sound good when you catch them at their best! Fantastic video!
Richard Woodward, I don't know, the CLYDE built GM EMD567 with a roots blower that were installed in our N.S.W 42 and 421, VICTORIAN B, S and X class loco's sound pretty awsome, as does EMD 645 with a blower as in our N.S.W 422 and 3rd series VICTORIAN X class. (these are australian locos). They always send a shiver down my spine and make the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
Thank you for watching. 37025 & 37254 stopped for around 5 minutes, but not in the most suitable place for photographs. I was on my way to York for 37669 & 56087 on the "Scarborough Spa Express" - meaning these 37's were only a bonus.
The sound of that class 37 , you can hear the beast but don't see him . Absolute gem and beautiful to see roaring
Thanks for watching.
Finally, someone who knows how to operate a camera without unnecessary and annoying pan & zoom!!! 😍
Sound of Torque and Power never gets old. Thanks for the HD footage(specially the audio).
Thank you for watching and your comment. Much appreciated.

Cat with nine lives at 7:13
Omg
Henk Tittel Maybe 8 now?
Lucky cat , cat probably cat thinking not to worry its only a tractor they go slow, ohh wait a minute this tractor is fast better hurry lol. Amazing video
I don't think that was a cat
@Benjyman.Cats are not dumb, just imagine they can reach the biggest speed in the world (probably faster than the "c", the speed of light :) ).
Wow, the sound and visual effects are stunning. Great job on connecting all those videos into one big piece of awesome footage! Cheers from Poland!
Thank you very much.
That cat had it well under control: 1. Evaluate oncoming speed and distance of train. 2. Determine optimum paw rotation to freak driver whilst still ensuring safe passage across tracks. 3. Perfect catting.👌👏
I see you both have met my cat 😅
Came here to say something much less complex than this. Perfect :)
Pleasure to watch.Nice, steady, well edited.I've been photographing trackside for 60 years, so appreciate really good stuff, which this is..
Thank you.
Thanks KL, great compo. That 66 pulling the minerals waggons through the station was extremely LOUD!!! Love it!
Thanks for watching.
Fabulous stuff. I love how every engine has it own sound. Great work
Thank you.
Thanks for sharing that, nice locations and good sound, after a lifetime of only liking steam, I'm just starting to appreciate the great British engineering that went into our older diesels
Thank you for watching.
I enjoyed every second of that. Thanks so much! You're a legend!
Thanks for watching.
What's really good to see is how immaculate these old diesels are kept even though they are hauling wagons or traffic.
7:13 Lucky cat!!! Another wonderful video Kyle - keep up the good work.
It certainly was lucky! Thanks for watching.
thrashtastic :) some of our great diesel traction, some nice horns, great vid, thanks Kyle
Thank you for watching. I'm glad you enjoyed.
Fantastic trash compilation featuring classes that normally are left forgotten on this selection. Very good and just subscribed to your channel.
Thank you.
Excellent! A good mix as well, from Deltics to 68's! Nice work.
Thank you for watching.
ah yes, the sound of a pair of "Choppers" in the night! Brilliant... thumping good selection Kyle.
Thanks very much, Tony. The "Choppers" are one of my personal favourites, when it comes to locomotives.
Awesome video! Great camera work and "diesel loco compilation". Greetings from Italy. Ciao, Stefano
Thank you.
Excellent, thanks for posting.
One of the best diesel videos I've seen, well done and thanks.
Thank you. Much appreciated.
Very good quality video recordings + amazing sound! That's an excellent job!
Thank you.
Phew! That cat was well lucky at 7:15. Nice video with the different diesel locos.
Thank you for watching.
Great compilation, nice clear steady shots and great sound. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you.
Excellent compilation Kyle, and a great variety of loco's, thanks for sharing, cheers...Bill
Thanks, Bill. Greatly appreciated.

Another absolutely great diesel video Kyle Law
Thank you.
Great video. That cat at 7:15 was lucky.
Yes, indeed it was. Thank you for watching.
37's sound like a dream!
Fantastic video and audio quality - your skill and your camcorder serve you well! Thanks for sharing this excellent video
Thank you very much.
This is an epic compilation, no other words for it.
Thank you. Much appreciated.
Fantastic video, great mix of old & new locos, thoroughly enjoyed.
Thank you.
What is the station featured around 2:50, please?
Thanks for watching. The station at 02:50 is Mexborough, South Yorkshire.
Absulutely... Impresive diesel stereo sound!! I enjoyed a Lot with headphones. Great quality vídeo, thankyou!
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
A very nice compilation. Lots of traction and locations just the way I like it. Thanks.
Thank you for watching, Richard.
Don't know if this is a silly question, but at 2:05 with the NMT cars, why were there 2 locos?
easy turn around if it ends up into a terminus station
A super compilation of video clips Kyle. Very good viewing.
Cheers - Allan. :-)
Thank you, Allan.
So is a shift on the Extra Board at Bromsgrove thought of as "Banker's Hours"?

4:43 Nice Intercity on the back of the Network Rail Train!
near miss cat at 7:00
The deltics always sounded freat, probably the best sounding ever

The freight train with the 2 class 50's, what working was that?
6M08 Boston Docks to Washwood Heath.
Can someone explain to me how they configure an engine pushing and one pulling?
Excellent shot. Like
Class 66 showing it's superiority for heavy haulage.
great vid. thanks for posting.
Where would I go to see all of those old locomotives? I know the Deltics are on heritage railways but where can I see the other old ones working?
Many of these older locomotives are on heritage railways. Seeing some of these locomotives on the main line can be somewhat more difficult. Oh the sound of a Deltic......Fantastic vid as always Kyle, I am a new subscriber to your channel and I love it. First class mate.
Thank you for your kind comment. Greatly appreciated.
Music to my ears - those Napier Deltic engines had a really great sound like nothing else. Thanks Kyle.
Lots of nice locomotives, awesome compilation
Thank you.
That cat had a lucky escape! Great video.
fantastic shot of the Deltic at 3:10! That was on the S&C wasn't it, before it closed.
Thank you. Yes, this particular clip was filmed at Blea Moor, on the S&C.
Jim Daniel, is that you driving the Colas 37?
Wonderful stuff as usual Kyle. You are the Stanley Kubrick of train videos, for sure.
Thank you.
Awesome video but I love the roar of the Deltic. What a machine
great audio quality!
Thank you.
Great variety of Location, & content :) New Subscriber

Thank you very much.
Which station is at 10:00? Looks like leamington.
Doncaster station.
Kyle Law ah ok, cheers.
Great compilation, missing just the tat Whistler class 40. I think also class 20 was underestimated for their thrash even though pretty under powered compare to the rest. Brings back fantastic carefree years as a keen spotter in the 70s
Thank you for watching.
@7:13 best action film ever
Thanks for watching.
A very good film, you've made , some excellent locations, Thanks Kyle
Thank you, Ernie.
An excellent video. You can almost smell the exhaust! What a racket that Deltic made I don't recall them being that noisy!
Thank you for watching. I'm glad you liked the video.
I do love a good thrash and those were some of the best I have seen. I especially liked 37025 on camera! Dave
Thank you. Much appreciated.
The first loco shown I had a hornby version of as a young lad nice to see an original 45 years later lol
ah, can almost smell them :) thanks for the upload
Thanks for watching.
amazing loved every minute of it
Thank you.
Diesel locomotives are just wonderful.
Outstanding thrash compilation Kyle, great work! Thought 55007 at 2.20 was a moped before she appeared!! Until the 334 drags up here I never knew how noisy the Deltics could be! Thank you for watching!
Great video and thanks for the upload
Is the one at 6.00 min a 2 stroke diesel ?
Just started a fascination with old diesel trains especially the awesome class 37
Class 55,Deltic, yes it is, 18 cylinder twin engine. That’s why it’s smoky!
Hi ya an Aussie here ...is the Deltic & class 37 the same type of Loco. Great video also.
While they're still not as impressive as older, unsilenced locos, a few clips in this show that modern traction (even sheds!) can sound good when you catch them at their best! Fantastic video!
Thank you. Much appreciated.
great compilation. Tnx
4:48 is that rail need to change or something?
Wow youre a damn good cameraman!
Thank you.

Wow :-). Very good :-). Have ever seen a BR class 04 before? :-).
Thank you. I have seen a BR Class 04 before, but never had one on film.
Kyle Law Nice :-). Where did you see the BR class 04? :-).
Nothing, and mean nothing, beats the sound of the class 37's.
Except a Deltic... :-)
MegaConan45 and a screaming grid on haa...
Class 40 at on par
Valenta class 43 does...or did.
A great compilation, very enjoyable !
Thank you.
Great video 😊
beautifully filmed good time of year with the leaves on the tree with marvellous scenery. I am so glad the black cat made it across the rains
Thank you for watching.
Can anyone guess who the diesels are? Like Diesel 10 or BoCo?
Enjoyed muchly!!! Many thanks!!!!
Thank you.
Very well filmed - concentrating on the locos. Nice selection - I'll take a 37 every time.
Thank you.
8:55; And this is why i like to call 70s 'howlers'. Easily some of the most underrated diesels in the country, in my opinion.
Very nice, was RSG/Pinza clips on the NYMR Kyle?
Thank you, Ian. Yes, the clips of 55007 (55022) were recorded on the NYMR - during their "Scottish Branch Line Gala" in May 2016.
3.07; wow, what a shot. Atmosphere and weather perfect, almost nothing modern screwing up the shot, crazy horn with screaming Deltic. Epic!
Thank you very much.
Love the deltic giving it the “ on likely moor bar tat”! Toot!!
Nice work mate
Thank you.
Nice channel."thumbs up". diesel dave's .
Thanks!
The end clip, not seen those engines before
Great compilation Kyle....keep them video`s coming...claggggggggggggg????
Thanks for watching.
The wail of a deltic reminds me of the ending scene in Jurassic park with the Trex fighting the raptors in the main hall.
That pair of 50s at 8.40....awesome.
Thanks to the usual Leeds traffic gridlock,I'm glad I didn't go for 37025/254 t'other night since they looked to have gone RA through the station..
Thank you for watching. 37025 & 37254 stopped for around 5 minutes, but not in the most suitable place for photographs. I was on my way to York for 37669 & 56087 on the "Scarborough Spa Express" - meaning these 37's were only a bonus.
I love the 37 really great sound keep up great work
the black cat running across the line at 7.17 used up one of its nine lives !
Did I just see a pair of BR Blue 50's on a freight!
