It's raw ... it's bad a$$ as is ... it's perfect! Well other than making it run perfect and maybe some carpet and sound deadening on the inside and rear nerf bars and license plate frame and fiber optic lights on the inside and ... and ... well you get the picture. But ... since Wesley has a lot invested in it, I let him take it home and play with it while I clean my shop and get ready for the next project. www.youtube.com/@KeyesKustoms/videos
I have to agree Bob it sounds better screaming, I mean the baffle build was great and not a not a buzz killer but it sounded a little too restricted imo...I think this machine deserves to have full lung capacity, this is one of my favorite builds Bob I sure do appreciate you sharing it.
Bob __ Always enjoy your builds. You never cut corners on the most important part of Hot Rodding, the power plant, suspension, and drivetrain. If you can't go out on a trip and make it back, all you have is an art piece. You killed it.
Bad ass build Bob. You've done it again! From a pile of nothing, you build a masterpiece. You could wrap some fiberglass around your baffles. Old school. Might help.
as someone who learned to play guitar in the 80s by ear and has done a bit of builds , raced and has more builds going on .......No baffles sound deeper and ballsey . How are all the other you tubers getting away with it ? best wishes ,Like your style !!!!!!!
I'm Baffled Bob. I seen you build them baffles. They work on motorcycles too. But That Bad Mamo Jama Yeller Rat Rod does sound better without them ole baffles. That took awhile to build. Impressive as all get out. Thing of beauty coming down the road. Backed up and watched it again.
You built one nice little hot rod out of that scap metal you started with Bob. I'm very impressed with the outcome. WELL DONE!!! 👍👍 Keep some ear plugs in the car and if the sound gets to bothering you on a long trip you can use them to make it tolerable. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK
Mister Bob that ole coup screams just sitting still.. let her scream going down the highway!!!! Even tho it failed your sound test your technic on building That baffle was GENIUS !!!
Still grumpy but better for sure , Friend of mine had a 27 Model A, I believe he used a blown out Cherry bomb filled it full of Lathe turnings it was stealth bud but when he talked to the engine it woke up one of those holy shxt look at the pistons pouring out of this thing a VERY COOL looking dramatic effect but it lasted about 3 months then he`d re pack them .Sweet ride BOB .
Bob no time wasted. You showed a great way to make Baffles. I did like it loud though. the more I see this machine the more I like it. I'm sure you will have no problems tooling down the road with a great big country smile. I know I wouldn't! 👍👍👍
I wrapped fiberglass matt around what passed for my baffles. Quieted it right down. My wife got used to the sound as the glass got blown out untill it was gone. Good way to get away with loud pipes. She didn't notice the change right away.
RR Bob, the problem is you created a powerfully loud beast that don't want to be denied his voice! You'll never going to get a whisper out of that one! Install a hook to hang your earmuffs on so they'll be handy when you fire it up! Maybe Red's got some ideas?
Hey Bob. Another great video. I like the fact that you upload the videos that show the fails. Do you have a secret admirer? I see a pretty pink flower on your work table. Or is those RED's. Thanks for sharing.
From my experience, those terrible outrageous sounding baffles need support internally. They will bounce and break at the welds. So glad you took those out.
Hi Bob, try cutting off most of the closed over cone, to allow a some straight through action. The turbulence from all the fins should still quieten it down significantly, and it’ll still have good flow. A lot more like baffles for motorcycle drag pipes. I’ve loved watching this build, it’s turned out great!
Wow Bob you simply amazing me wit ur never ending knowledge of craftsmanship! Also inspiring for us DIY’ers to get’er done wit simple tools! Much appreciated for you and Ron on sharing all this! Taking a saying from another great TH-cam’ers “I NEED TO GET OFF MY AZZ AND START MY PROJECT “. Again thx
I'd say that its yours and ya build for you. I would of done some side pipes coming out of those headers and done the right sneaky quite sound and trolled the old folks home looking for a date. Sure enjoying this twenty degree heat wave... another month and spring is in the air!
I really thought about pipes like that. I even have a set of side pipes to build with but IMHO, I feel it would take away from the look of the car. You probably know by now that I like simple ... no creature comforts. So I sacrificed a lot of comfort in the name of cool looks. So in this case ... ear plugs ... here I come.
Old Patches sounds fantastic. Love the 'chunk-ka-chunk' cam. Looks great. Maybe there are some baffles that will work. Am sure you can figure something out. Look forward to more. Be safe and stay well.
We were on the same wave length building the baffles Bawb. My motorcycle has a fibre wrap around the baffles that keeps them from rattling and gives it a better tone. Anyway you go I'm diggin it.
Hahahaha yup I agree Bob that sounds like a Pinto with.laryngitis! 😅 I laughed so hard when you got out and shook your head. We were both doing the same thing.
Well, this is a piece of art,Bob. Well done! As far as loud or bad, im on the less noise side,as i want to keep my hearing as its still pretty good. As suggested,a couple pairs of earmuffs for them long rides. Keep up the good work, cant wait to see what’s next!
Bob i watched you build it all the way to one great machine not much to add because you nailed it to really enjoy ridding in it is leg pipes under the door to the rear tire more money but better sound one great toy
Yes sir...sounds good. Ok for going bar to bar on a Saturday night but on a long trip loud like that makes me sleepy. Definitely needs baffling for the longer voyage. That's why i like those electric cutouts. Push a button it's loud push again it's quiet. My dads 55 mercury had cutouts on push pull cables. Cool stuff them cutouts
what all you gonna do to this car yet?
It's raw ... it's bad a$$ as is ... it's perfect! Well other than making it run perfect and maybe some carpet and sound deadening on the inside and rear nerf bars and license plate frame and fiber optic lights on the inside and ... and ... well you get the picture.
But ... since Wesley has a lot invested in it, I let him take it home and play with it while I clean my shop and get ready for the next project. www.youtube.com/@KeyesKustoms/videos
in other words its a long was from being done
It's done enough we started tuning it and test driving. For me .. they are never done completely, I'm always tinkering with my stuff.
Thanks for watching guys. I really appreciate it!
I have to agree Bob it sounds better screaming, I mean the baffle build was great and not a not a buzz killer but it sounded a little too restricted imo...I think this machine deserves to have full lung capacity, this is one of my favorite builds Bob I sure do appreciate you sharing it.

as someone who learned to play guitar in the 80s by ear and has done a bit of builds , raced and has more builds going on .......No baffles sound deeper and ballsey . How are all the other you tubers getting away with it ? best wishes ,Like your style !!!!!!!
All the other tubers NOT running baffles are now deaf. 😂😂😂

That was awesome to watch this entire build.
You are a true craftsman and I like how you take efforts to do things right!
Love loud pipes loud pipes save lives I'm running a 61 Chevy with 650 hp with open headers
You built one nice little hot rod out of that scap metal you started with Bob. I'm very impressed with the outcome.

I LUV those 60s era mag wheels. You don't ever see those any more.
I’ve missed a lot of this build. It looks great.
Mister Bob that ole coup screams just sitting still.. let her scream going down the highway!!!! Even tho it failed your sound test your technic on building That baffle was GENIUS !!!
Sounds better outside.

Your the best . Love you Bob .
RR Bob, the problem is you created a powerfully loud beast that don't want to be denied his voice! You'll never going to get a whisper out of that one! Install a hook to hang your earmuffs on so they'll be handy when you fire it up! Maybe Red's got some ideas?

Love that coop ...MILNER eat ur heart out
From my experience, those terrible outrageous sounding baffles need support internally. They will bounce and break at the welds. So glad you took those out.
Yes they will break. Like you said ... need support for the long haul, but they are a good start to build on.
Bob is like a Dentist. But for Rat Rods
Love this build, Bob !!!
Nice work Bob and it SOUNDS GREAT WITH NO BAFFLES
Hi Bob, try cutting off most of the closed over cone, to allow a some straight through action. Love this rod, the stain; (after you wipe it off) makes the details shine.
Looks and sounds sweet to me on the road, Bob. I love what you teach and the way you teach it. High school shop class was never near this good.
I read once a wad of steel wool will take the edge off...dunno,but ya might try it.
love,love,love the build!
We were on the same wave length building the baffles Bawb. My motorcycle has a fibre wrap around the baffles that keeps them from rattling and gives it a better tone. Anyway you go I'm diggin it.
WOW can't believe the difference!!!
I like way the baffles made it sound
I always enjoy your videos
This is awesome , great build Bob , too cool .
100 0/0 better sound.
Thanks for sharing with us.
Hahahaha yup I agree Bob that sounds like a Pinto with.laryngitis! 😅 I laughed so hard when you got out and shook your head. We were both doing the same thing.
Hey Bob super trap used to make baffles in a disc- stack to adjust the tone of the pipes.
Congratulations 😊
i wasn't too sure about the yellow, but it grew on me over the months. i tellya what, id drive it. beautiful work Bob.
I shoved some shorty motorcycle mufflers in mine. Made a flange and bolted then in. Made it fairly quite cruising but aggressive when you step on it.
This is a breath of fresh air!!! Please keep it up! Watching your videos kinda reminds me of listening and hanging out with my Pawpaw!!
Well, this is a piece of art,Bob. Well done! As far as loud or bad, im on the less noise side,as i want to keep my hearing as its still pretty good. As suggested,a couple pairs of earmuffs for them long rides. Keep up the good work, cant wait to see what’s next!

Rat Rod Bob man i can just picture Red & Elvira strolling along with that fine Rat Rod. Great Job !!!!!!!
Trial and error and learning on the way, great show
Just like you said Bob, it's GREAT!

Looks and sounds great without the baffles....Haha...first glance at the baffle I thought you might have pulled up a sandpoint out of the well!
always great work
