  • this is how I upgraded my 88 4runner ac from the factory mediocre system to a more modern system from a 2001 Tacoma. all info in this video applies to the 84-88 Toyota pickup and the 84-89 Toyota 4Runner.

    Did you eliminate the factory drier?

      Yes. The new condenser has an integrated drier, so there is no reason to keep the original one.

      @@ethandevonshire9554 I asked a guy who has a business that only does automotive HVAC work and he told me there is no reason to have 2 driers.

      @@retro_88yota when i get my ac going again, im going to run a new condenser but also keep my factory aux condenser that the 4runners have and run a series of small electric fans to keep air going through
