    I have this exact washer and I couldn't figure out how to get the agitator off. I know this video wasn't really about that but it was still very helpful, now I can finally clean my washer, thanks!

    Great video. What causes that failure? Overloading the washer?

    • @HarperandKnowles
      @HarperandKnowles  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That certainly can contribute to the problem, however in this case it was probably just the advanced age of the unit and the untold number of cycles it has done during its lifetime. Thanks for watching!

    YAY! Another informative video. My Kitchenaide top load washer is still outside. Haven't fixed the bottom leak from the ou~ter tub. Due to it being outside for so many months due to the leak while using it, I am sure it's dirty and may have critters in the cab. Anyway, I have a question that has me confused for sometime. The machine works well sans the leak, agitates the way it is suppose to. My question is, why does my queen size sheet twist into a rope? In each cycle I have to untangle it and seperate what was caught up in the rope. I do distribute the items evenly in the tub.
    Has the Mrs. opened up shop yet?

      I have no idea why your sheet does that. Perhaps another viewer can give you a better answer. The Missus is in the process of pricing and setting up her shop. She has some small construction tasks to finish and then she'll have a grand opening.

    Hello, Ihow much play should be in the drive shaft coming out of the transmission. I got a new transmission and I have a 1/4 inch wiggle. Thanks

    • @HarperandKnowles
      @HarperandKnowles  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s normal on these transmissions. Once it is installed into the spin tube that wiggle will no longer be apparent. Thanks for watching!

    Can a broken neutral drain kit cause the washer to agitate in one direction somehow?

    • @HarperandKnowles
      @HarperandKnowles  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, the parts at the bottom of the agitator shaft are bad. Replacing the whole agitator shaft is the best fix for this. Thanks for watching!

    You took apart the transmission to show how the gears were wearing. If I follow those steps to take mine apart and see how it looks, will I be able to put it back together, or will it be destroyed? It's going to be tough to afford a transmission, and I'd like to make sure that this is the problem before I buy one to try it.

      @HarperandKnowles  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If your mechanical abilities are such that you question whether or not you'll be able to reassemble the transmission without destroying it, I strongly advise you not to attempt the repair. Hire an appliance technician that knows what they are doing to work on your machine. If you would like to see how a transmission is constructed look at this video: th-cam.com/video/UbybdNrfYvg/w-d-xo.html. Thanks for watching!

      @@HarperandKnowles 🤣Stupid question in other words, I guess! Good to know, really. I've paid people to "work" on my appliances etc only to have them break them sooo many times that I try to teach myself how to fix things, first. I'll watch your other video and see if I think I can handle it or not. Your videos are great. Thanks!

      There's really nothing to it once you get started. In this video th-cam.com/video/IhtvntbiGOU/w-d-xo.html I go through replacing a clutch and other things too. Thanks for watching!
