Thanks for making the video. I had the same sound and issue with clothes wrapping. I've changed everything but the gear box and was pretty sure it was that. I could tell the forward agitation worked, but not the back, which is why clothes wrap around it. At this point since I've already put the new motor in might as well spend another $200 to fix this. Which is easier then trying to figure out what new washer to get.
Mine is making more of a creaking sound, like plastic gear teeth worn and skipping. It sounds just like your ratchet in the video. Thanks for giving me some tips.
I literally had to search, CLOTHES WRAPPED AROUND AGITATOR to pull up the right diagnosis. My washer doesn't have those 2 spindle retaining clips, which gives me a red flag
I know this is an old video. I have the grinding sound too on my Kenmore Series 500. Any idea what part number I need and what the part is that you changed?
@@aaronkennedy204 Thanks. I found the transmission for mine. I changed my dogs also, but still get the grinding and it only agitates in one direction causes the laundry to wrap around the agitator. I'm praying the transmission cures my problem too. Thanks for the video.
NOOOO i don't like this video i like the other videos where that little plastic was busted between the rubber not where i need to tear the trans out of it. just kidding. i guess i will find out in the morning. when i tear mine down. the old lady washed 2 heavy queen size blankets i bet the weighed 40 pounds each when wet. at the same time. but you cant tell my old lady anything.
well I was hoping you would show what was wrong with the old transmission. I have same problem but I'm not buying a new one, I'll just rebuild it. I'll figure it out.

Camron Call thanks for watching
Thanks for this detailed video!
Thanks for watching.
So the problem ended up doing inside of the transmisión/gear casing ?
I would have to assume it was the casing, I changed the whole thing and the problem went away. I didn’t open up the casing after replacement.
Would you know what specifically in the transmission is causing the issue.
Sorry I didn’t look into it any further than what was in the videos.

Alkyl Dimethyl Benzyl Ammonium Chloride Start with the Agitator Dogs, they’re cheap enough and easy to change. I hope this video helps you out.
@@aaronkennedy204 Thanks I haven't even pulled up the IPL yet to see what parts it has. I'll let you know how it goes

Sorry I don’t remember the part numbers. I changed the agitator dogs, agitator, and motor for the video.

okrafoot Sorry about that.

Did you figure it out? Same position also want to rebuild but my transmission looks really good any suggestions? 🙏
