Possibly your best “overall” comparison so far, specifically for the smaller cans. I just picked up the Griffin Taper Mount Explorr 300 not because it was the best at any one factor, but specifically because it was such a good balance of everything/Jack of all trades-good sound and flash signature reduction, shorter length, definitely thinner diameter and light weight (two of my knocks against the Velos), and the price reasonable. Not the best back pressure reduction vs the Velos K and Huxwrx, but still reduced compared to most due to the Eco-baffles. Overall, I’m happy-and thankfully we have all these options to decide what’s best for our individual preferences!
Thank you so much for his video. The information you’ve compiled from this test is invaluable. I’ve been looking for a K can for a 10.3 and 11.5 and I’ve been leaning toward the Velos. Suggestion: although sound suppression is important, I think flash suppression is equally as important when evaluating all of the pros and cons of a can. For me, flash suppression is very important. It would be awesome if you ran a flash suppression test on these cans at night. I realize it would be more work, but it would be one of, if not the most comprehensive k can review out there. Keep up the great work!

Having that info in your other videos would really help me make my purchasing decisions. Love all your hard work sir !
I’m new to the channel , but it would be cool to see these tests done with either an adjustable gas block, or adjustable downward venting bcg like the bootleg. That way you can isolate if the sound is coming from the port pop or the can itself
Great video. Thanks for putting this together. Would have loved to see some hard use silencers like a SOCOM or Sandman, since I think those fit the utilitarian nature of a k-can, but this is good stuff!

@@fullm3taljacket universally seems like a bit of a stretch, there's QD systems out there like the griffin ones, a lot of 9mm pistols run subs great (sound wise.) whereas a lot of rifles run super sonic. The main con(s) to me is running a direct thread, or needing to run boosters on Browning tilting barrels...most of my guns run them fine, but I know some guns can be a bit finicky like Glocks with a suppressor. 22 pistols with subs are an absolute blast and serve to have some actual stealthy utilities or just plain fun. Love the content, would love to see a B&T SRBS compact, Cobalt Scrambler and CAT WB comparison to the Velos. I think you hit the nail on the head with K cans. You aren’t getting one just for how quite they are, what’s the weight to durability ratio, do you care about mounting system, and does flash matter to you? Side note, I’m a Hux fan but I’ve been more impressed with the Flow 762 vs the Flow 556k personally.
My buddy has the 556A1. In addition to it being an absolute flame thrower, it has had to be repaired twice. Mounting system was broke out of the box and then the blast baffle disintegrated
I got both the turbo k (for about $350 + $200 tax stamp before they raise the prices) and the fat cat and I love them both! Fat cat is great considering the price to performance ratio on my 10.5”
we have reached out cat and are needing your support on this. please email them, request a can be tested on this channel. your vote matters and its a team sport.
Great, informative video.just makes me want to run full size cans mostly. Also liked the adage of small gun, small can; big gun, big can. I was thinking of a k-can on a 16” and now I’m thinking there’s logic behind that statement. If it’s long already, what’s a bit longer?
It’s interesting how you seemed to think the velos K was quieter than the hux when “other data sources” show the 556k as performing better at the shooter’s ear then the full size 556 velos which sielncerco themselves say is a much quieter can than the k version. My experience with the hux is that in an open area it sounds great to the shooter but being that you’re shooting with a roof overhead I’m guessing you’re getting some “ bounce back” which I also observed shooting indoors with the hux. Curious if results would change in an open area.. another awesome video!
thanks, we have tested in a few environments with the same cans on the same days and have found the HUX SUX for sound but kills it for BP. on this day it was 112 out side so we stayed in the shade. you are right tho, all of em would sound better in the sun. also there is some other data like the thunder beast sound sum that put TONs of cans head to head with all the same gear over a 3 day span with all the right guys working the testing equip so you will find better data there about how the HUX measures up. then keep in mind that volume and not tone. that plays a huge roll.
@@SilencerSyndicate just got the email about 20 minutes ago. Took 11 months, turned in last August on a trust with another person, hopefully trusts go quicker in the future like the individual transfers.
U yes, video on muzzle devices... Flash hiders, breaks and comps..... Showing their back pressure and the best for sound, recoil and flash mitigation!! PLEASE plus the best as suppressor hosts.
The Q Cherry Bomb specifically increases back pressure on a semi auto platform on a bolt gun it doesn’t really matter. Also Rearden MFG makes Charlie compatible Atlas rear ends and Dead Air also makes Charlie compatible Keymo.
I got a YHM Fat Cat for 16" AR Dissipator build, and so far I love it. The increased backpressure tends to work with the undergased dissipator, not against it, and I love the deep tone from it as opposed to the high crack of other cans. I will admit, I wasn't aware of the Velos, so thank you for that. It's high on my list for a next can.
Have an old surefire mini. I agree with not quiet and high back pressure. It's actually better on a longer barrel. It is more pleasant on an 18" and 20" . I remember when I bought it, they had a micro. It marketed for 18" and longer barrels.
Also! Can you show Velos LBP vs the K version side by side? Would be neat to know what you get/lose for the size difference in terms of blowback and sound.
Would love to see a review of the YHM Turbo K-RB. Curious how reduced the back pressure is compared to other. I think I could be a great option since it comes in at a pretty nice price point.
would like to hear how the SiCo Scythe Ti stacks up against these.. i believe it's in the same size realm (i could be wrong) and weight of a K can.. and .30 cal.. so possibly less BP on 5.56? if one is available during the next showdown.. loving the channel, bud
Still waiting for approval on an AB suppressor A10 warthog 5.56. It'll probably end up living on my 12.5 inch rosco k9 barrel. The fat cat sounded the best to me on camera but could definitely see a lot of gas coming out the rear of the rifle. Great video as always
@@kirkwest6654 I filed a trust. I guess the wait times are longer on a trust. Some get through fast but not all. Next can I get will be filed as individual
I have a 10.5" upper that I use my Omega-36M in its short configuration on. It's my only rifle can so I would've been interested to see how it compares to "real" k cans.
I was surprised to see one of the more ubiquitous k cans (YHM Turbo K...any generation) not on this list. I know they're getting older, but so many got into the wild based on price alone that I think perhaps it should have been present, even though it isn't as cheap as it used to be. Anyway, I very much appreciate the testing Rob.
agreed, id like to have one. Ill ask em. they sent me 3 cans and that Turbo K was not one of em. thank you for supporting, the comments and shares really go a long way!
I remember reading about Velos's structure makes its performance heavily temperature-sensitive. It also has a very noticeable FRP, testing data showed that even a full-sized Velos will start to perform like FRP in the 5th round on MK18. So, in an array of fire, it actually performs more like an HXQD556 than a CAT. Now, I'm more interested in seeing your review on CAT WB since data shows it beats even the full-size Velos LBP 5.56, by a noticeable margin. If and when you do so, please do 10-15rds side by side between those two.
interesting, we have not found that at all. there is a FRP on most of these cans. some is minimal tho. we want CATS. we have reached out cat and are needing your support on this. please email them, request a can be tested on this channel. your vote matters and its a team sport.
Great video! I’ve narrowed what I want to the velos k, 556a1, and the kac mini cqb abc 123 or whatever they’re calling that. I’m curious if you put the dt mount on velos k and the flash hider endcap, how it would be with flash mitigation at night
Have you shot the fat cat with the muzzle brake it came with? I'm curious if I'm better off running the brake it comes with or just going with the ASR mount.
@@Ertactical I totally get that. I'm fairly invested into ASR too. I think when my can gets approved I'm gonna try the brake that comes with the can and just thread on an ASR brake and see if there's any noticeable difference. Either way I know I need an adjustable gas block. I have a DD4 RIIIS 11.5 upper that the can is gonna live on and it is crazy how over gassed it is already unsuppressed.
Gotta test the Cobalt Kinetics Scrambler and CAT WB. Also, how does shooting the Flow556k out in the open (not under the shelter) affect the high dB that you find while under the shelter?
Thank you, please write an email to them requesting they sent us a can. We have tried and they are not responding. It’s a team sport and we need to attack as a team and from different angles.😊

The Q Cherry Bomb specifically increases back pressure on a semi auto platform on a bolt gun it doesn’t really matter. Also Rearden MFG makes Charlie compatible Atlas rear ends and Dead Air also makes Charlie compatible Keymo.
Thanks for the info!
great info! Thanks for watching and supporting! =)
It's high on my list for a next can.
yea, a gas issue can be fixed with a can for sure. thanks for watching
Have an old surefire mini. I agree with not quiet and high back pressure. It's actually better on a longer barrel. It is more pleasant on an 18" and 20" . I remember when I bought it, they had a micro. It marketed for 18" and longer barrels.
You sir just got a new subscriber. Outstanding video
Thank you, we really appreciate it🍻

New subscriber, looking forward to learning from you. Thank you for this.
happy to help! thanks for joining us!
You may already have a video on it but could you do a video on what QD muzzle devices works best for suppressing on a bolt action
we did do that vid for AR15's.. on bolt guns you can do the same or DT. Thanks for watching and supporting! =)
I’ve heard the griffin m4sd-k is a great sounding k can that sounds full size. It’s a larger k can, but still smaller than a full can.
same, I want one also they look cool!
Thank you! Do you have this up for testing? Gemtech Abyss 5.56
I keep asking for one, please email them and request the get one on the channel for testing.. it does work
Great content, but please add a decibel meter. Velos 556k looks like a good option.
Would like to see how the CAT WB would stack up.
Thank you for the suggestion
Also! Can you show Velos LBP vs the K version side by side? Would be neat to know what you get/lose for the size difference in terms of blowback and sound.
we just did that on a 16". not sure how the vid came out yet ... lots of good stuff to come =)
Would love to see a review of the YHM Turbo K-RB. Curious how reduced the back pressure is compared to other. I think I could be a great option since it comes in at a pretty nice price point.
just got one, we are currently testing, stay tuned
Thank You for sharing the knowledge
thank you for supporting
would like to hear how the SiCo Scythe Ti stacks up against these.. i believe it's in the same size realm (i could be wrong) and weight of a K can.. and .30 cal.. so possibly less BP on 5.56? if one is available during the next showdown.. loving the channel, bud
thanks for supporting us! the Scyth is def a full size can.. but a great can!
Love what you’re doing! I’d love to compare modular things like the SilencerCo 36M in its short config. Also, thoughts on the A-10 suppressor?
thank you, we don't have an A10 but we have asked. please email them asking to get a can on our channel for testing, the team thing really does work
@@Ertactical email sent!
Awesome video love everything y’all do, could you center your guns on the wall tho?
hahaha man, i just toss a few up there from the test of the day. thanks for watching
Love a nice set of cans
haha I see what you did there
Amazing work again!
Thanks for watching and supporting! =)
Still waiting for approval on an AB suppressor A10 warthog 5.56. It'll probably end up living on my 12.5 inch rosco k9 barrel. The fat cat sounded the best to me on camera but could definitely see a lot of gas coming out the rear of the rifle. Great video as always
thank you =)
Post an update on that AB when you can
@@kirkwest6654 will do. Hoping for an approval in the next month or so 😥🤣
@ethan5.56 I hear it's about 2 weeks. I've been waiting for polonium k, but they are out of stock everywhere. The AB is available
@@kirkwest6654 I filed a trust. I guess the wait times are longer on a trust. Some get through fast but not all. Next can I get will be filed as individual
K / mini cans are not my thing but very good info none the less. I think you like the Velos 😊
hahah i do love that lil thing haha Thank you, and thank you for supporting us, your likes, comments, and shares go a long way! =)
Great intel! Thanks for the shove
Nicely done!
thank you =)
I have a 10.5" upper that I use my Omega-36M in its short configuration on. It's my only rifle can so I would've been interested to see how it compares to "real" k cans.
Thanks for the suggestion!
we can do that. good idea
What’s the wall rack system you’re using behind you? Thanks for all you are doing!
@@Ertactical You have their email?
@@Ertactical NVM, I just sent CAT an email. Keep up the good work!🐈
@@JohnZ556 thanks man!
Great video! I’ve narrowed what I want to the velos k, 556a1, and the kac mini cqb abc 123 or whatever they’re calling that. I’m curious if you put the dt mount on velos k and the flash hider endcap, how it would be with flash mitigation at night
good cans mentioned, we don't have any KAC cans but we want to test for sure. we will do another flash test soon
@@Ertactical awesome! Thanks again! Glad I found this channel. I’m very virgin to silencers but this helps a lot.
@@ZApe1102 we are happy to help
The comparison I wanna see is the velos vs LS5 vs srbs556 for sound and flow thru and flash
good call! the LS5 is on the way.
Have you shot the fat cat with the muzzle brake it came with? I'm curious if I'm better off running the brake it comes with or just going with the ASR mount.
I have not, I like the ASR. Allows me hop back and forth faster to have uniformity
20:10 I can't agree with this having heard them side by side on the range, the Velos-K is significantly louder.
what cans? the VELOS-k and who?
@@Ertactical Velos 556k and the Flow556k
Which is the quietest if you were to tune the gas? A high back pressure i would guess
there are low BP cans that are quiet, but the most quiet will be the Nomad L and PTR. the PTR is a low BP can
I like your take on this
thanks man! we love sharing! thank you for supporting us!
Are you using some high quality mic or something? The difference in tone really comes through in your videos
Thanks for noticing! Yeah, we made “investments” lol
glad you can hear the dif, its a hard thing to capture
Gotta test the Cobalt Kinetics Scrambler and CAT WB. Also, how does shooting the Flow556k out in the open (not under the shelter) affect the high dB that you find while under the shelter?
🤷♂️We’ll see if they send us one.
Thank you, please write an email to them requesting they sent us a can. We have tried and they are not responding. It’s a team sport and we need to attack as a team and from different angles.😊
I've noticed in the open shooting pits that the Flow 556K is still louder than the surefire mini on my MK18. Flow only excels at no gas to the face
@@UndertheTreesPNW the X-Ring just did a review on a few cans including the Flow556k and he found it to be better than the full size cans he tested, without earpro. X-Ring also took some dB measurements.
@@EmpTy-kf2rq just saying everyone who hears my Flow compared to my rc2 or rc mini think the Flow is louder

15:51 the answer is yes. They are pretty similar from what I've seen on forums.
good intel
Can you do a video on the top hunting profile cans? Light weight good sound reduction
good call we are all gearing up for our hunts =)
