When I watched Brian throw his RM 125 over the finish line in his first Supercross win and watch some of his party days of his past on some of his videos, I wouldn’t have pegged him as the great parent and human being that he is today. Proud of him and his families success! 👍🏻

I for one have loved watching this kid come through the ranks and can’t wait until he turns pro. Great interview. I don't know him other than watching him on tv but Brian seems like a genuinely good guy and more importantly a great father. He seems to really give thoughtful and honest answers to your questions. You could tell he's considered many of these things and maybe struggled with the best decisions in the path for his boy.
The more I listen to and watch this guy, the more I like him. Imagine if all dads treated their kids like this(not the financial support but the mental and emotional support). We’d have a lot less kids getting burned out by age 9.

The team, the support, the drive, the talent, the killer instinct. U need it all to be successful and win races. Eli was a top amateur with many amateur titles so it's not like Eli wasnt elite then. He may not have won a ton of Loretta's titles but he won all sorts of other amateur national titles at Ponca, Lake Whitney, World Mini, etc.

Haidens biggest advantage is having the mental strength given to him by his dad and riding with all of the talent at their compound. That will give him the confidence he needs to accomplish whatever he wants.
I think guys like AC were so driven to win and took it soo hard when he didn't win every time, it absolutely devastated him. I just think it took a long time to get past that mental block.

I've seen Deegan and his kids understand losing is part of the game. They don't run off, cry, kick stuff around and totally break down. There are a lot of kids who do and I think thats just how they are brought up. You have to have kids who are mentally stable and not afraid to lose because it is guaranteed that you will!

Perfect ping about building memories with your kids. We don’t race and don’t plan to but sometimes I get mad at the kids for being lazy or wanting to be on their phone more than riding. I remind myself make it fun and it’s fun for all. Best reward is when one of them tells me this is way better than screen time
How can anyone dislike the Deegans? Especially Brian. Anyone hating is just jealous because he’s got money. It’s inspiring to me to watch Brian because he could so easily be a douche bag and raise spoiled brats but he is a stand up dude. He won his first debut SX race at 17 winning 3 of the first 5 races and was looking like he was going to smoke everybody until he separated his shoulder. He was never mentally weak but he has made a lot of mental mistakes in his career.

My theory with Alessi is that he got hole shots and with amateur races being so short Villipoto just didn’t have time to catch up.

He won his first debut SX race at 17 winning 3 of the first 5 races and was looking like he was going to smoke everybody until he separated his shoulder. He was never mentally weak but he has made a lot of mental mistakes in his career.

@The Deegan's, I think through your family's whole span, one thing stands out, "family values", you always have your family first in your decisions, but they aren't spoiled, they work hard and you have passed your midwestern values on to your kids, from one Nebraskan to another, you should be very proud of those things!!
