not really, a Yamaha yz250F weighs 234 lb, compared to ktm's sxf 250 217,8 Ib, I mean without a doubt ktm, have the best bikes, but you have to take the whole package, when you sign a contract, and at Star Yamaha Haiden has got a really good team around then, and they have proven they can win on the blue bikes 💪
That's a high-class move for both you guys and Brian/The Deegans as a whole removing this until the news was out. I had my own thoughts about this and my thoughts were basically word-for-word what Brian said around the 1:26 mark. I really like his attitude. I bet for sure hundreds, if not thousands of families now own KTM dirtbikes because little Johnny wanted to BE Haiden Deegan. Some people who just don't get it might see it as a betrayal to KTM, and had you guys released this back when the original podcast aired, that woulda been kinda shitty. I really like Brian's attitude, cuz it's that age-old thing where, even after you've moved on from somewhere you don't shit on the organization that gave you a chance. Whether that's KTM or the local grocery, when you move on it's not cool to shit on them even if you didn't like it, which it seems the Deegans had a great relationship with KTM.

I had a 92 yz125 for a couple months in 2012, & then sold it to get a 00' yz426f & had the bike for maybe 3 months before it got stolen... A few months ago in August I just picked up a 94 cr250r, but in the interest of wanting to get a new bike, I just watched your(Mr.Deegan) video you just posted of Haiden seeing his factory bike for the first time, & DAMN that bike looks good! My point is!... Yes, he has an influence on what bikes we want to get. I've never been a KTM fan, I'm a true4 guy(Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki), but I will definitely consider Yamaha(over Honda), if I was ever lucky enough to be able to get a newer bike. Star yamaha was the right move. They have most the same sponsors and star yamaha is run with an open mind. He will be riding with cooper, martin, tomac, ferrandis, and on and on. He will learn soo much when he gets chances to ride with them.
Tbh looking at the recent history of the factory teams it only makes sense to go with Yamaha. Sad how suzuki isn’t even in the chat, bet if they had a great rider and a committed factory team they could change that image of theirs

1000% KTM sold 1000s of dirtbikes because of this channel. It would have been awsome for him to race pro on a KTM but it's also what is in his best interest and MONSTER is obviously a huge backing that has made it easier for the entire family to push towards all of their dreams.
The last people to successfully come through KTMs 250 program were Roczen and Musquin and that was a while ago, think of the success of Yams 250 program in the last 5 years.

He was always going to Star Yamaha no question about it. Brian had been a part of Hansens Energy (now Monster Energy) from day dot. The yzf250 best 250 4t on the market isnt close they lack so much power.

There's only two bikes ive ever regretted selling. A 2011 ktm 350 sx-f that I got for $1500, the bike was perfect, pro circuit suspension and titanium pipe, all the goodies, the dude just didn't know what he had. And a 2020 yz450f that was legitimately the fastest stock bike I've ever riden. The suspension was the easiest to setup. The phone app for custom maps was dope. Crazy powerful, handled like it weighed nothing. I became a better rider on that bike. Kept it 2 years and sold it for $1000 less than I got it for so I couldn't turn it down. We lost all our local tracks so I found a $750 2007 rmz250 with pro action suspension, yoshi pipe, hinson clutch, just needed a carb clean and chain and sprockets to have a play bike. But hey can't beat star Yamaha. That 2022 Kawasaki kx450sr is looking awful sweet tho.
I would not go that far. Their pro-line-up is off the wall impressive. US, Europe, Offroad, Hard Enduro, you name it and they are always in the championship hunt.

No doubt the Deegans sold some bikes for KTM but claiming they have done more than the pro riders is just plain incorrect.

Some of this appeared in the original. The YZ250F has been the standard for years. My dad got back into motorcycles with a 426F, has since had 2 250Fs.

There's only two bikes ive ever regretted selling. A 2011 ktm 350 sx-f that I got for $1500, the bike was perfect, pro circuit suspension and titanium pipe, all the goodies, the dude just didn't know what he had. And a 2020 yz450f that was legitimately the fastest stock bike I've ever riden. The suspension was the easiest to setup. The phone app for custom maps was dope. Crazy powerful, handled like it weighed nothing. I became a better rider on that bike. Kept it 2 years and sold it for $1000 less than I got it for so I couldn't turn it down. We lost all our local tracks so I found a $750 2007 rmz250 with pro action suspension, yoshi pipe, hinson clutch, just needed a carb clean and chain and sprockets to have a play bike. But hey can't beat star Yamaha. That 2022 Kawasaki kx450sr is looking awful sweet tho.

I would not go that far. Their pro-line-up is off the wall impressive. US, Europe, Offroad, Hard Enduro, you name it and they are always in the championship hunt.
@@kx454 oh y’a? how many 30 year olds say “I’m gonna buy a KTM because of Herlings, Webb or ….” Compared to how many kids want a KTM now and will get one? They have represented that brand extremely well and attracted a lot of long term riders
@@SosopChabot Can you prove those sales figures? Or is it just a theory based on TH-cam views? Honestly, how can you quantify your argument? KTM has exploded in the last 10 years because of its massive push in professional racing. Consequently, the bike has drastically improved as well. Do you think any of the vet riders spending big bucks on bikes every year care what a kid is riding? No doubt the Deegans sold some bikes for KTM but claiming they have done more than the pro riders is just plain incorrect.
@@kx454 of course I have proof, ktm sends me all the info ever quarter…. No but seriously, you must not have kids that ride at race tracks and have friends that ride. That would tell you how much pull these people have and it’s marketing 101, get the kids! That’s why there is laws against advertising to kids… never said anything about vets, yes KTM has exploded in the last 10-15 years and it is because of them not the Deegans (duh) and I said they have done more in terms of sale than MOST pro riders, never said ALL…
