My family has owned a muffler shop for 30 years and I have done so many duels and a lot of straight piped trucks. When I did mine (04 Sierra 5.3) I went with single exhaust. No muffler, and 3" pipe into a 4" Dodge diesel tailpipe that I made custom hangers for. Its low toned, and sounds good. Wife still hates it.
I had a corsa sport exhaust on before I got cammed, afterwards it sounded like a track car, was ridiculous. I'm currently running a 5x11 maganflow muffler with a bullet maganflow in front of it acting as a resonator. I may go to a 5x8 magnaflow muffler, but regardless with LTH, catless Y and the BTR stage 3 cam there's no stopping the loud...
Take it from an old guy who's played with exhaust systems for 40 years, you're leaving power and torque on the table staying true dual. I would suggest an "H" pipe at the minimum. A "Y" is better, within around 70" of the header. A cheap, excellent flowing, and great sounding muffler is a DynaMax Ultra Flow, at 22" long. I would suggest 3" in and out.
As a pure gearhead I think engines sound better in their more natural state like this than with emissions and sound suppressing equipment added on. Ive driven fully straight piped vehicles on a long term basis. But I dont live in an urban area though
@@tragedytm6975 my tuner asked if I wanted to lower the temp that the fans come on at. Factory setting is 226 and that’s extremely high I think. I said no and regret it and am having home lower it
Please please please do a borla xr1 or magnaflow dual in dual out around 18” body or like 2 14” mufflers. I’m so curious how a moderately large body muffler would tone it down and eliminate drone. It’s gonna be a bit before my heads cam 6.0 will be done so I need to do my exhaust science through you 🤣
Start with two 18" dynomax race bullets, still too loud? Add two 12". They're straight through, won't hurt power. But wll tone it down without making it boring. An X will help tune the sound as well. Or, put a really quiet exhaust system on it and sone electric exhaust cut outs. Best of both worlds.
Loud pipes save lives!✌️
Wow that is loud though.

I wish I would’ve stayed with one pipe and not the true duals. I bet that looks good too!

Appreciate the help sir. It currently has an H pipe right where the cats were….i completely left that out. I’ll look into that muffler
Any proof of that
@@YoungerPrice, research David Vizard, NASCAR, or any racing sanctioning bodies who ban the use of it
Have you heard of a glass pack? They sound something like your truck.

Is this here in Canada 😳 I see a Cobra Chicken decal on the back 😎👍🏽
Nope Illinois! We wait for them to fly down here😂

I saw you’ve got a bronco II in there!! Very cool, and the truck it rowdy 🤣🤣🇺🇸🇺🇸 let them bald eagles fly!
Good eye😂
@@harleystillwell7519 I gotta check it out sometime
Whats the full setup an motor
5.3 with Texas speed chopacabra cam, shorty headers, and 2.5” true dual straight pipes
I have the Carven R on my truck. It's not as loud as a Borla or Corsa but still sounds amazing.
Awesome. I’m pretty set on going with the carven
Sounds good! I’m doing a stage 2 cam and shorty headers on my 2500HD 6.0 and I don’t have cats
That’ll sound so good😎
looks like your truck is overheating there bud lmao 9:16
Lol yeah I didn’t lower the fans with the tune then let it sit and idle like a dumbass. Gonna lower them down 226 is too freaking high
@@harleystillwell7519 wdym lower them?

No problem man😂 I was looking into the xr1. I’m still doing research too!
If you had put longtubes on it instead of shorty headers that ugly clap sound would go away.

I have 2 bullet style carven TR series on the way and an X pipe. Gonna try that out!
sounds nasty lol, throw some longtubes on and lets see how obnoxious it can get 🤣
Absolutely ridiculous but I love it lmao
