  • V6 vs V8 engine - What’s the Difference? In this video, we will discuss the difference between V6 vs V8 engines and which one is better.
The main difference between these V6 and V8 engines is the number of cylinders.
A V8 has more cylinders (eight) compared to a V6 (six). The extra cylinders in a V8 engine provide more power, which is useful for heavy-duty tasks such as towing or hauling.
Another difference between V6 and V8 engines is the power output
V8 engines typically produce more power than V6 engines. The additional cylinders in a V8 engine allow more fuel to be burned, resulting in more power. On the other hand, V6 engines have fewer cylinders and hence output less power. This makes V8 engines ideal for high-performance cars like sports cars and muscle cars.
These two engines also differ in fuel efficiency.
V6 engines offer a better fuel economy compared to V8 engines. The smaller number of cylinders means less fuel is burned, which leads to better gas mileage. This makes V6 engines ideal for everyday driving, such as commuting to work or running errands. On the other hand, V8 engines are powerful and consume more fuel.
Are there any similarities between V6 and V8 Engine?
Both V6 and V8 engines typically use fuel injection systems to deliver fuel to the cylinders. This helps to improve fuel efficiency and reduces emissions. They both also have a similar lubrication system, which uses oil to lubricate the moving parts of the engine.
To sum up, which is better - V6 or V8 Engine?
The choice between a V6 and V8 engine ultimately depends on the intended use and personal preference of the driver. V6 engines are generally more fuel-efficient and offer better acceleration and performance than smaller engines but may not have the same level of power as V8 engines. V8 engines, on the other hand, offer more power and better towing capacity than V6 engines.

This basically just said that V8s have more power, for 3 minutes, with no real details

The one vehicle shown had a v12 then they show an inline 4 while talking about v8s and v6s then while proceeding to talk about v engines they show an inline 6 bad dogs

I dont know much about these engines to begin with but at one point she made a statement that v8 has better acceleration than v6 and at the outro she said v 6 has better acceleration than v 8. I think the script was overlooked and never checked for logical errors.

I expected a fair comparison between a v6 and a v8 with the same engine volume.
However this presentation only focuses on the same cylinder volume.

In a Formula 1 car engine, about 940 horsepower is produced by the internal combustion engine. The turbocharger in the engine produces an additional ~140 horsepower. Not all engines are built the same. From 2006 to 2013, F1 cars used V8 engines that produced about 750 horsepower. As a result, their top speed was often limited to about 322 kilometers (200 miles) per hour, but they had slightly quicker average acceleration at lower speeds than the current cars due largely to the fact that they had 8 cylinders rather than 6, allowing for a much higher engine RPM (18,000 compared to today's 15,000 maximum RPM). This unfortunately also meant that the cars were burning fuel a lot quicker, meaning they were much less fuel efficient.

0:27 provide more power than what?!
If there are 2 extra cylinders those cylinders gotta be smaller than those a V-6?
For a comparison with the same displacement.
