I can’t begin to tell you how many “Mutha Thumpers” there are for SBC’s. My son loves the rhythm of this cam, we want to find a cam for my vortec 5.7 that we’re throwing a Brawler on…. Hope we can pick the right cam
Try Isky or Crower they wil get it right the first time. Wouldnt recommend buying based on any video Any performance cam will sound good. Lots of it is in tuning.
@@vj4789 True stainless exh sytems to the bumpers have a distinct sound .Not cheap but sound killer and can be show polished too .Nice looking box you got there! Too tall to fit in those things .

@strokerIROC I've got 2 sbcs with thumprs, a 305 that sounds like Satan bc fixed low vacuum caused by the cam by cranking up idle speed, so it sounds like a full tilt track car, and a 350. I know for a fact that 350 has more low end spirit than it used to and I'm pretty certain it's because although the cam isn't as tuned for low end it's not horrible and breaths significantly better than the emissions suffocating cam that it came with. Can't say for the 305 bc I put 410s in the rear so it's not a fair assessment.
@@strokerIROC Correct..cant tell some guys anything they havent been dusted by a mild combo thats geared right and makes killer torque. My first lesson was being blown away bad by a well built 70s 3/4 ton BB truck .Wasnt even a race lol
It might have a nice mean LICK to it,, but how's the torque and the power and the MILAGE? KINDA CURIOUS,, THOUGHT ABOUT PUTTING ONE IN A 283, BUT IF IT'S GOING TO NOT HAVE TORQUE ETC, I DON'T KNOW,, IT SOUNDS AWESOME THOUGH....
It’s honestly not bad. Truck makes pretty decent power. As far as fuel mileage I’ve never really checked it but a tank of gas doesn’t last very long lol
Usually when guys don’t tell their setup is cause they sometimes didn’t build the setup their self .. but I’m not judging them at all I just don’t have the funds like they do and I could be wrong also
I 100% built the setup. Engine is a 355 with edalbrock heads and intake, comp gold rockers, mutha thumper cam and Holley sniper fuel injection. Truck has a 350 trans with a 3200 stall. Exhaust is headman stainless headers, 2 1/2 exhaust with venom 250 mufflers. No x or h pipe.

3200 stall and 273 gear. Putting a 373 in soon.

@@FinnellRacing mutha thumper is a line, not a part number. Cam specs change ALOT with flat tappet, hydraulic roller, hydraulic flat tappet, solid…..

@SectionEightLife what makes you sat that? If you don't have a decent stall converter and rear gears, a big cam can kill low-end torque.

For a sbc there are 3 : Thumpr, Mutha Thumpr, and Big Mutha Thumpr

Timing is 20 base and 800 rpm
