Hey love the video! Install looks great! I just put a mutha thumpr in my 350 for my '76 Chevy C10 Custom Deluxe. I'm a noob at engine rebuilds though. Could you make a video showing how you adjust the valves to the specs on the spec sheet? I'd really appreciate it if you did. That's the only thing from keeping me cranking the motor and seeing how good of a job I did.
Thank you very much, I'm kinda like you just learning the engine part, ill link below the video I learned from hope it helps!!!! th-cam.com/video/XR4W-MWjEyI/w-d-xo.html
What stall converter are you using with them cams going to install one on a c3 with a 350 and now that i got everything off want to now what stall to use thanks
@@ACDesignsGarage Thanks appreciate your help I checked and it even recommended stock converter just don’t want to risk it since it’s already of the car lol
I saw on comp that as long as you dont run the heavy double springs you should be good, fingers crossed lol, my dads 32 ford we put the same cam in with no problems so far.
Never thought about it till now that's where hand tight 1/4 turn came from I bet. Tighten the rocker nut till you just can spin the push rod then quarter turn.
The short comings of the thumpr cams is the lift. They really come alive with 1.6 and 1.7 roller rockers and back up the sound with seat of the pants performance.
Yes its hydraulic flat tappet and stock gm crate 350 push rods, we rotated the enging and looked to make sure the valve springs were not fully collapsed when all the way open.
Stock springs, they said if your running stiffer springs you need to use ther break in springs then swap after break in. I checked while turing over to make sure they were not binding at max lift. I think they will be fine.

Hi.good video
Thank you for watching
So in summary of reading through the comments, the thumpr cam your using (I assume it's the 279/297) will work with factory 350 heads?
The comp guys told us they are made for stock crate engines. I love the sound of them.
Dod you have to change the springs?
No were just running the stock crate heads and springs, they worked fin on my dads hot rod motor so fingers crossed lol
Hey I’m looking to do the same cam to my motor I’m doing it on a budget can I do the cam only or is there more needed
I would put new lifters in for sure and break in the cam per the manufacturer specs. So it will last longer and not wipe out the cam.
@@ACDesignsGarage thanks so much I just order that cam and lifter 🙏🏽🙏🏽

I think its a 2000, just a hair over ztock due to the car being pretty light weight. I think comp has some i fo on there website on choosing a stall.

When installing thumper cam is it necessary to advance the gear on the crank shaft retarding it or advancing it
No we just put it straight up
That was a waist of time no information involved .
Hi AC, I noticed you did not change out the valve springs with the new cam. Not needed for the new cam?
I saw on comp that as long as you dont run the heavy double springs you should be good, fingers crossed lol, my dads 32 ford we put the same cam in with no problems so far.
@@ACDesignsGarage Thanks. I heard a sound clip of that cam. NICE!!
Factory pushrods looking into this cam for my 84 squrebody

Probably is, thanks for watching!!!

Thanks for the tip!!!!!
This is a flat Tappet correct? And also did you use the stock pushrods ?
Yes its hydraulic flat tappet and stock gm crate 350 push rods, we rotated the enging and looked to make sure the valve springs were not fully collapsed when all the way open.
What valve springs do you run ? I’m About to order the cam for my 78 nova with a sbc 350, but they do not include springs
What springs are you running with that cam? Stock? Preload?

@@ACDesignsGarage thanks sir
