One of the cars we grew up with that I've always wanted to build a copy of is the GMC Yukon Denali from Rob & Big. It looked amazing in every episode and the black on black on black had a ton of presence in the early days of that style. We're doing a quick transmission swap on this Denali, but let me know in the comments below if I should buy it and paint it black.

I'm guessing from the fact that you're putting $9,000 with a caulking underneath that still plate that you've never heard of backer Rod the the round foam Rod you push in there and then you caulk to it,
You should get one of those FLIR cameras that connects to your smart phone and show that air coming in from under the sill plate. It’s also super helpful for finding leaks in your house. Best $200 thermal camera I ever bought. Keep up the improvements on the shop and house. Love following along.

backer rod could have saved a ton of money on the caulk/sealant but that works too - the battery caulk gun is pretty nice though for sure...
Today I learned who Rob & Big are, and battery powered caulk guns are the way to go to keep Eric out of the sil plates.
I can get how to keep Eric out of the sill plate, but, how to you 100% block 100% Jake????

I've got the M12 caulk gun too, and it's the best way to blow $100 in caulk in less than 30 minutes. That sucker will empty a tube faster than you can walk and your hands don't feel like you're an 80 year old with severe arthritis afterwards.
The way he threw that last transmission bolt in there like it wasn't a problem (and it wasn't, for him) had me shook. XD
I have used Gumout for years and always provides great driveability. LON from Ohio...
My buddy and I rebuilt the transmission in my Dart on the driveway with a exploded picture in the tech manual of 727 I put in it. It worked fine till I broke it beating on it and downshifting it to first from 45 or so many times, took about a year. It would up shift at 5500 rpm and punch the car sideways on dry pavement, stage 2 shift kit 😉

Premiered fall of 2006 and ended spring of 2008, all of 3 seasons. So if you weren’t a young kid into skateboarding during that 18 month period, you probably missed it. I’m so old even my kid is too old to have caught that show.

As I have recommended many times, it may be time for a satellite store of O'Reilly's to establish itself at chez JRGo. The battery version of the caulk gun is sweet, I certainly love my air-powered one.

Is this the actual "UAV" from the show or just one that looks the same? I kind of wondered what happened to the original after Rob gave it away in a game of "skate" and "roshambo".
No way this is the actual one… the one rob gave away was gloss black. Unless that was just a wrap which I doubt it.. considering wraps weren’t really a thing in the early-mid 2000s.. only way to really know is run the carfax or go to the DMV

The only time ive ever done a transmission on the ground was when I replaced a clutch in a mustang as high as we could get it on jack stands. Id say the Denali would be much easier but still nice to do on a lift.
did a clutch on a Miata which is transmission out job. Fun part was the exhaust bolts that were frozen. Other than that it wasn't too bad. Transmission is lightweight on those cars too.

fix the window fix all the dings dents scratches then wrap it in a popping crisp metallic pearl green...and put a lift kit on it 2-4 inches then put a borla stainless exhaust on it to give it a good gutteral sounding deep bass sound...

Thanks JR. Buildings are typically build to have a natural draft. Caulking sill plate during construction probably was not even considered. Manual labor generates good circulation. Wool socks and good work boots during the winter will keep your feet warm. Old school legit like your Dad! 😊
