World of Wonder is proud to announce the return of FOR THE LOVE OF...an entirely different kind of talk show hosted by best selling author JON RONSON (Them, The Psychopath Test).
Jon is doing this so well by staying neutral and allowing them to share their stories. While I completely disagree with what scientology "preaches", this was a good interview as he is giving them the space and time.
You're right. When I started watching this programme I was concerned about the lack of discordant voices as the guests always share similar views but as I watched more episodes I realised that there not being oppositional voices made everyone more relaxed and they were less reticent to show their true selves.
The old guy's story about how he died then his wife yelled at him then he came back to life has convinced me that Scientology is entirely real. Hallelujah!
So interesting, if not telling, that at least two of the people here went into Scientology in an attempt to repress sexual urges. (Not to mention the swathe of 'totally-not-gay' celebrities.)
$cientology was created by L. Ron Hubbard, a _science fiction writer._ Why didn't Jon Ronson ask these $cilons about Xenu, the 75 million year old intergallactic warrior?
They would have shut down and cut the interview. He was smart enough to sort of ask them what they wanted to hear, and let the crazy come out organically.
+nicelittlerunner A Founder member of the Royal College of General Practitioners too! He died 8 years after this in 2007, I wonder if it was a heart attack? I thought he said he was getting healthier?
I wish religious people could be shown this and have a moment of clarity; realising that all religions are delusional, profiteering man-forged mind manacal.
Lizzie gives me the Heebie Jeebies with that "glare "and over enthusiastic smile. Its obvious she ain't happy. No one trys that hard to show it , do they?
am I the only person who thinks a religion whose prophet was a science fiction writer is a bit, well, completely fucked?I have no doubt there are aspects,as there are to any religion, that have positive applications, but the mythology is outrageous
Very interesting watch, but I think it's a bit of a shame Jon maybe didn't know as much about it as we all do nowadays. You can see they try their best to divert conversation away from the OT levels, no doubt in case OT3 came up and Jon mentioned Xenu (which I am assuming he did not know about back when this was made) or the whole "there is no Christ" speech from L. Ron and the whole concept of religion being an implant. To be fair, Jon was way too nice in this episode!
Ron Jonson, you're very nice man but unfortunately have no clue what you are entertaining here! He never seems to do any (decent) research for any of the topics in this series. . No doubt Mr Hubbard threw in some nuggets of truth to his religion, (as all do), but its the lies, hierarchy, quakery and 'godlikeness' that i see and ask people to avoid.
I was searching and read his book can't remember the name and wanted to find out..but yeah it's a money scheme some of it is useful but these people are lunatics I know that look anywhere.
Please define "Spiritual Awareness". This term is meaningless to me. I am mentally and physically aware, yet I have no awareness of this thing you call spirit. Please elaborate.
Scientologists started getting the crap beaten out of them in the Media when they suggested being Gay and taking powerful mind altering psychiatric drugs may not be a helpful way to go. If people take a stand on principle, they often pay for their good works. Scientologists paid a high price, probably still do. Maybe Scientologists should just go alligator wrestling or Big Game hunting instead of speaking out against abuse, it would be a lot safer for them.
It literally is a joke. The point was to let people with strange beliefs talk, just to see how their minds work. It's a niche program from the late 90s. For Jon's more serious work, take a look at his podcast or books.
'I doubt anyone is gonna put anything over on me, in a sales patter sense' said the man taken in by the cult
Yep , he has no sense of irony ,lol.

Juan Lopez good point.
I would like to see an update, where are they now? And who is now a SP (suppressive person, scientologys outcasts)
The old guy's story about how he died then his wife yelled at him then he came back to life has convinced me that Scientology is entirely real. Hallelujah!
One of the funniest things I've read in a while haha. That is one powerful wife!!

"Start a religion thats where the money is " L. Ron Hubbard .
Just think you could be this happy if you believed in a load of nonsense.
+John Mirra look at all the happy christians. islam though, IDK why people partake in a religion that just seems to make them angry.

@jaleel appleseed wait wait, yes would like to see that interview... but where you saying Jon Ronson was a shill?
@jaleel appleseed plz give the link i want to see
Xenu probably hadn't been leaked by 1997
14:00 A doctor who gives advice to not have surgery after a massive coronary thrombosis? sounds like a religion to me!
+nicelittlerunner A Founder member of the Royal College of General Practitioners too!
He died 8 years after this in 2007, I wonder if it was a heart attack?
I thought he said he was getting healthier?
I bet they all voted Leave
Georgina Roberts. 25 years old when this was recorded? I don't think so!
I think she actually has to stop herself from laughing when she says 25 lol.
LOL @ the old man in the beginning saying that the "Supermarket" wont pull the wool over his eyes....$cientology already did that bud!...LOL
That's a worry that a doctor didn't call an ambulance
I wish religious people could be shown this and have a moment of clarity; realising that all religions are delusional, profiteering man-forged mind manacal.

What a load of bollocks.
No way that woman is 25
The first women to speak, Lizzie, looks and acts like one of the 'cult' from family guy.
So he drops dead, and that's funny? Scientologists get weirder and weirder
am I the only person who thinks a religion whose prophet was a science fiction writer is a bit, well, completely fucked?I have no doubt there are aspects,as there are to any religion, that have positive applications, but the mythology is outrageous
Georgina Roberts "Actress" : not according to google
She is: geckotheatre.com/cast-and-creatives/georgina-roberts/
They are on a different planet ! Seriously odd bods.

Scientology is insane but to say we have a soul well what a wrong foot to start on trying to be rational
Your not challenging them. It's more of a talking forum for them. They do well but are never confronted about anything!
They're all so normal 😏
Sheila is obviously lying about her sons "assist" also. I dont actually think any of the younger guests seem genuine at all.
Ron Jonson, you're very nice man but unfortunately have no clue what you are entertaining here! He never seems to do any (decent) research for any of the topics in this series.

If you start at 44:00 its much better, they look more crazy.
I was searching and read his book can't remember the name and wanted to find out..but yeah it's a money scheme some of it is useful but these people are lunatics I know that look anywhere.
Anyone experiment with simply placing their kid's hand on a watermelon at Sainsburys?
As a middle aged man, I imagine the mother might have reacted differently than to an old woman! 😆 Fortunately I wouldn’t dream of doing such a thing.
@@kevine7414 that was my thought too. There is a certain level of leniency when it comes to elderly ladies.
47:39 "Scientology has never been fully revealed"
Yes, in many ways, they're the victims. If only they had some influential people or well-known public figures to speak on their behalf.
all my lulz
Please define "Spiritual Awareness".
This term is meaningless to me.
I am mentally and physically aware, yet I have no awareness of this thing you call spirit.
Please elaborate.
They really don't talk much about the dark side of Scientology at all.
it wasnt widespread knowledge then
They are clearly all plants
Hubbard was a complete known fake, wish he had just gave them the facts, instead of pandering to them.
Go and google ' Human touch may have some healing properties '
these people seem like they did not know what they are talking
Scientologists started getting the crap beaten out of them in the Media when they suggested being Gay and taking powerful mind altering psychiatric drugs may not be a helpful way to go. XENU SAVES
This is an absolute joke. Some hard nose interviewing skills you have Jon..ugh
