You are absolute legends for posting this Joann Fletcher series, in its entirety. I've been obsessed with Ancient Egypt since I did a school project on it when I was 10. Something about Honorary Professor Fletcher makes this subject accessible and exciting, especially to people that may feel weighed down, or talked down to, by other presenters. I saw this series some time ago, it's being repeated on PBS right now - finding this series here, has meant I can watch it again whenever I like, AND watch a film before it expires! Thank you 😊
Love her commentary, nice to see a presenter with a Northern accent. Make us feel at home, plus she is so engaging. She really makes it exciting and intriguing watch.
It's funny how despite how far away the time is from us, it still remains pleasing and satisfying to see. It's held up extremely well, not goofed around with, and the architecture is something I want my my own house. I can read stuff and see pictures, but hearing her voice echo and draw atention to the little things the common people left. Makes it more present and real if that makes sense?
It’s lovely watching this , I love they way she does this and I’ve learnt a lot more about Egypt than I did as a kid at school, this would be awesome if it was played to the kids in school when learning about Egypt.
I love this professor...I had watched all these videos before but her presentations are so captivating and full of passion...just the way someone pf her profession should be. She adds emotions and depth and continues to ignite my passion for simply gaining knowledge. I could listen and watch her all day

I’m sure that I would not have been alone as a lot more people would go back to watch the splender of the Egyptian people. Thanks to Joann Fletcher for the brilliant documentary about the history of the people. Thank you….Phil
I'm only 30 minutes into this story of Egypt and I just HAVE to say, that I was lucky enough to go to the great exhibition of Egyptian artifacts in San Francisco. This was when exhibitions went all over the world so we, who couldn't get to Egypt, could gaze in wonder at that which is Egypt. I stood in front of the iconic golden mask of King Tutankhamun, no further away than one foot! I witnessed mummies. I was close enough to see their eyelashes and fingernails. I saw their jewelry, pottery, statues that were so highly polished that you could see your reflection as clearly as if it were glass. One of the most breathtaking things I saw were the hieroglyphics beautifully displayed for viewing. I could go on and on, but I want to get back to this video.
Beautiful to read your experience, I felt your words and wonder. I also had the pleasure of experiencing Egyptian artifacts in the Museum of Natural History in New York City , I was much younger than but you brought it all back as well as this magical woman . 👏🙏♥️

I wonder why she bo bothered calling what was called "Canaan" with the much much newer name "Palestine". To me this faults her entire presentation. It's either she's keeping it historically correct or something else
I am absolutely in LOVE with this series! In college, I did my art appreciation thesis on, "The Art of Mummification," and painted literal giant scrolls I unwound, pinned to the wall, explained how it was an Artform unto itself! Us students were grading each other, so you know that they all gave me Fs. She marked them all out, gave me an A+ And what do I paint with today? Yes - what they Egyptians used! NOTHING beats Lapis Lazuli, as it twinkles, I add on the earth pigments from there. I've been enjoying buying or hand grinding my own pigments, from watercolours to oils! Yes, cautious about what works, doesn't work together, but I must always go back to my love of ancient egypt. Helped me to spot a forgery in the Louvre, that all the experts insisted was real. Anatomical goof is blatant, if you take off your rose colored glasses. When people make up excuses, they are wrong.
I love watching Prof.Joanne Fletcher and listening to het talk about the lives of the ancient egypts is amazing, i could just imagine how they lived their lives. Their work their home lives the games they played the food they ate, you can just picture it in your mind, she is amazing i would have loved to have her as one of my professors when i was in university.
I think if you can work on uncovering history with a person like Dr. Fletcher, work will never ever feel like work. It'll be a passion project from the beginning to the end.
A good documentary that let us down at the end. Joann and the producers did such a good job describing the characteristics of each era of ancient Egyptian politics and faith, and then just left it at "well, here come the Romans, so let's just skip to how the British Empire rediscovered ancient Egypt and did a service to everyone." When were the last hieroglyphs carved? Did the Romans not assimilate into Egyptian culture? How similar is the ancient Egyptian spoken language to Egyptian Arabic?
What an amazing documentary! Much gratitude to all who made this, all of the sound and visuals were lovely, and of course Dr.Fletcher for an engaging presentation of one of the greatest cultures.

I am not even 2 min into this "documentary" by a so called "PhD of archeology" and everything she opens with is a lie, because I assume that she is educated well enough to know that everything she just said has been discredited for over a decade already.

"Flippin' 'eck" :D
I could listen and watch her all day
The people unwrapping the past and trying to understand our history are the true heroes of modern humanity explaining our stories and why we came to be . Truly amazing we have no idea how the pyramids where built and just how smart our forefathers actually where !
Professor Joann Fletcher is one of The Best Egyptologists around, her inspiration for this fascinating subject. If I could go back in time and just watch without being seen by the locals then I would have gone back to the time of the Egyptians and pharaohs. I’m sure that I would not have been alone as a lot more people would go back to watch the splender of the Egyptian people. Thanks to Joann Fletcher for the brilliant documentary about the history of the people. Thank you….Phil

Dr. Fletcher's enthusiasm and passion make this great documentary greater still. What an engaging host!
I saw that exhibition too in Memphis, TN. Astounding!!
Saw it in Chicago, Illinois.

The one where Mr Ballen explains that he had used loads of David Paulides' material to create his own stories.

I Love Prof. Fletcher's dedication. Such a remarkable Spirit!
I love watching Prof.Joanne Fletcher and listening to het talk about the lives of the ancient egypts is amazing, i could just imagine how they lived their lives.
Love Joann she's just fascinating to watch. Her passion for this subject keeps me captivated. X
