Nice to know that "maybe they won't kill my corner if I pretend it's not killable" is about as effective a tactic for a pro as it is for me.

I get that this is a recording of a twitch stream, but it's always funny to open a video like "Ueno Asami's a Beast" and hear Dwyrin say "and I will not tell you who won."
    *looks suspiciously at video title*

Your real board games are my favourite. 2 questions:
1: If I'm not mistaken this one is not in your real board lectures playlist?
2: Any chance you can put a link to the SGF file in the show notes for this series? I like to go through the game before watching your videos.

    "weirdest re-approach I've ever seen"
This is actually played commonly in pro games now. Recent video from US Go with Michael Redmond's review of his game against Shiraishi Yuichi explains this new joseki.

So much respect for the corner attacks by Ueno Asami. I certainly would never have seen those, and I would have fallen to the attacks. But hey, I'm #DDK4LIFE, so I'm just enjoy the moyo.

Fun thing is at 29:00 you would think the game is over for black, but you need to count it first.
White has 44-46 pts on right side, and 48pts on the left side. And white has 2 -4 pts on the bottom poke group. Black's moyo is only like 70pts , and black only has 34pts on the rest of the board for sure (corner aji in lower right too).
So If black holds everything she has - 104pts. If white holds what she has 101-106pts with kome. The game is basically even. It just looks good for black because all her territory is in one moyo.

Every one makes fun of Suzuki Ayumi... yet she beats Ueno Asami 2-1 and took from her the Kisei title pretty convincingly. Asami still is a beast and have a bright future (+ I love her game), but let's appreciate her opponent too ;)

    Excerpt of a script.
    28:55
    White is coming in.
White: "I'M COMING IN! HI! IT'S ME!"
B: "Hi! How was your day, darling? =)"

Your real board lectures/reviews are easily my favorite content you create as far as just sheer enjoyment goes. It makes me happy to see a goban and stones get use. Also, this was a great game to watch played out and reviewed. Great choice.

I feel a bit sad for B here... I love those moyos!
Is there a way to unplug the AI's ? ;-)

After 6. wE4, there are only two continuations in AlphaGo Teach's database. Both variations in an OGS review: online-go.com/demo/view/546911

Some day, in the bright future, that lies ahead, people are going to finally get used to the 3-3 invasions and stop bitching about it...
Btw., the attach at E14 (3:44) is a standard AI-joseki now...

would black have a fighting chance if she defended the corner instead of playing the D9 atari?

Suzuki's probably use to people playing the 3-3 early, so studies building, defending miyos. Giving up a corner is fine as long as you are surrounding and they live small,, right?
From other games I've seen, Asami isn't the early 3-3 type, she looks for kills not living small.

it's really not that obvious if the colours of the players correspond to the colours of their names or their background. maybe backgrounds which are not white or black would helo or sth like W:, B: next to their names

Ueno Asami is not a beast, she is a beauty. I see great beauty in peeling off someone's face in a go game!
I respect players like Asami. You can tell by just looking at her that she did not have to make a career out of Go. She is so hot, that she could easily have made a career as a model in Tokyo or as a Fashion Designer.
When Super pretty women chose a bland , seemingly non-glamorous career as playing Go, they must be doing it for the pure love of the sport. I like watching top players who are doing it for the love of the game. That's why watched Kobe Bryant Play basketball weekly. It's why I like watching Brett Favre and Warren Sapp, play football.
How about it Dwyrin? Do you think Shibano Toramaru plays primarily for the sheer love of it too? I do. Shibano wouldn't be going influence style ---counter meta -- if he wasn't having a ton of fun doing it.
