About a year ago, I had accidentally activated the "Discordo" one. I had no idea why the sound clip was playing every time I started Discord/woke my PC from sleep mode. I finally have an answer.

I think I found another Easter egg. If you search for a GIF and scroll down to the very bottom of the list, it will say, “Your perfect GIF is in another castle.” This is an obvious play on the “Our princess is in another castle” from the original Super Mario Bros game.

It was october 31, I was using my pc when suddenly someone called me. I didn't know that discord changed the ringtone for that day so it really fucking scared me. I literally almost jumped off my chair because I didn't expect that.

yeah so a while ago it was at night and someone told me about the android darker theme thing and i did it and thought "wait does it work with light mode" and proceeded to open the gates of heaven on my phone as all the light in the universe shined on my tired eyes and my flashlight turned on on full fucking throttle and I recoiled in fear as the brightness overlord instantly took over my phone screen.
6/10 would try again, but only during day time.
This was exactly how I discovered The Gates of Discord Light. Painful I must say.

I would like to clarify. 0:48 means sky in Chinese apparently, but in Japanese it means both sky and heaven, and in this case is more as in a symbollic place than the actual sky we see each day. Street Fighter was made in Japan, and I personally think that the meaning of the character at the end of his attack was to show that his strength was godly, or of the sky.

Me: my several years of experience can confirm that this is a rick roll.
Even better, threads are actually an upcoming feature in Discord.
Right now it is only available for specific people and servers.
Basically, it allows users to create temporary text channels without moderator involvement that are meant for specific topic discussions without clogging up #general.
And bot authors need to modify some code so that they work, that is why the rollout will only happen in 1 to 2 months.

As Discord is getting less gamer nerdy, and more acceptable for work-from-home and business scenarios, I was sad that the funny loading messages, and welcome messages, went away.
But I'm happy Discord hasn't lost their spirit entirely, and some fun easter eggs still remain :)

A lot of people use custom clients like BetterDiscord or Powercord (I'm personally using Powercord due to superior features there) because main discord client lacks A LOT of functionality, one of them is lack of custom themes, but plugins also give more functions and add up to what initial clients had. And also, emojis are constantly denying their existence and it just sends as a regular message. VERY often.
