Love the video! I've had a 2001 XT225, bought new and am probably going to make some videos of a few things needing repairs after all these years. I used to ride that bike pretty hard off road and have taken some pretty good hits to the stock skid plate with no issue. Definitely like the Clark tank. I might need to snag one of those!
0.42kg/mm with 15w oil. I believe that’s the only ones cogent makes for the xt225. Racetech has 0.48kg/mm but at my weight 165lbs I’m happy with my setup
Hey boss, I just bought a 99XT225 just something to put around on, but I'm 238 pounds you get any advice To stiffen shocks. I see people hinting about like cheap ones with PVC but I can't find any definite answers. I don't wanna put a lot of money into it. I honestly I don't know if I'm gonna keep it but I'd like to ride it for a while to get more custom bike because I haven't owned one in years, but the shock problem is a real issue because I feel like I just bounce around.
Thats what i keep seeing people talk about spacers but how what size what material i have googled for days and i cant find anything xt225 specific and like I said, I am new to motorcycles. I don't know much about them, but I do have mechanical knowledge. So my like big thing is what size to cut the spacers
@ if your wanting to add preload to the front then I would use washers, remove the fork tube cap and you can measure the tube to see what diameter washers you need then I would add 2 per fork at a time until it feels like you want it
I'm 6'1" and the short seat was annoying for sure. I ended up just building up some foam and putting what I planned to be a "temporary" cover over that. Well 15 years later the temporary cover and taller seat is still working good for me.

@@DirtRider22aThey do ! They ship to Portugal :) going to order one . Thank you !

I don’t know of any rear shock mods or any aftermarket shocks that fit that don’t cost $600. The front you could add some spacers to increase preload

@@DirtRider22a thank you for the advice
im 6'3" with a 31 inseam... considering one of these but seems like it may be a little short for me from what I have read, any suggestions?
Maybe something a little larger, klx230 or even klx300 depending on weight?

@@Buttons_fix_it I wanted one of these but ended up going with a Kawasaki KX250F for my first bike, already love it
@@sf4769 Nice! That 250F is a blast I'm sure.
