    I used to wear Halston designs in the 70s. They are still my favorite clothes. Just a genius he was. Exciting and interesting.

    That is so important to emphasize............Halston clothes can be worn today.

    Great video! So many people only remember Halston as a jet-setting regular at Studio 54 and aren't aware of how much he contributed to a true American style. It's very rare that a designer's work becomes timeless and can be worn at any time......his designs transcends the decades. He was truly a genius and the ultimate American designer!

    Halston put American fashion and fashion designers on the world map. Halston's designs still stand the test of time. His clothing is still relevant.

    I remember when Halston was popular in the ‘70’s. My dad loved Halston cologne. Great video. Yes, many of his designs looks modern and fresh today.

      That's it! It was definitely Halston vs YSL during the Battle of Versailles, much in the same way that it would've been Oscar de la Renta vs Givenchy on the same battle

    He along with Yves St. Laurent were Civil Rights Workers in their own way since they Hired Women Of Color for their Shows. Pat Cleveland who would later work as a Fashion Consultant for various African American Magazines most notably Ebony. He showed that American Designers could hold their own considering that the Top Designers were of European Background. He worked as a Clerk in A Chicago High Class Department Store where The Soap Opera Genre was created and it was in Chicago, Ill that Eric Forrester got his start working with his Father at his Tailor's Shop.

    When he spoke he tried to mimic Diana Vreeland! Boy oh Boy! I was 7 and already aware of Halston! At 13 I was admiring the bathroom tiles Ads of Gianni Versace! Fun fact: My brother in low bought them to isolate, for hygienic reasons, the space where he filters Honey of his bees: He's a semi-professional beekeeper, but his Honey quality is at Gianni Versace level of perfection! ( forget Michael Kors Times, I m talking about the 70s...)

    Tom Ford referenced Halson when he designed Gucci's Fall/Winter 1996 collection. Tom did a great job at Gucci, but for his second job at YSL, which was still good, I think he should've worked at Halston instead. One can only imagine what the Halston brand would be like today had Tom Ford or Karl Lagerfeld became the creative director.
    Some models seen in this video are Pat Cleveland, Alva Chinn, Anjelica Huston, Karen Bjornson, Connie Cook and Pat/Patricia Ast (the plus-size model); known as the "Halstonettes."

    Alot of folks don't know who certain folks are in the arts. The Hidden Figure Ladies, The Wrecking Crew (Session Musicians,) Motown's Funk Brothers, Writer Patricia Highsmith. He also influenced Isaac Mizrahi, and Tom Ford. He was also very secure especially when his Buddy Yves St. Laruent (RIP) did a perfume line before Halston or even Calvin Klein jumped on the scene.

    More geniuses needs to learn from halston. He sold his name, lived life too free and in the end those two things claimed his life. When you’re trying to make it and do make it remain focused on your goals, disassociate with anything dodgy, sketchy or unsafe in any way, develop and maintain healthy habits and for the love of god never loose sight of your vision due to glitz and glamour.

    Sorry to say that, but Kaftan wasn't invented by him, it's actually a traditional African dress, he just made it fashionable in the USA. Besides that, Halston was a Revolutionary Fahion Designer and you made a good job with this video! Loving it!

    • @anaaraiza5532
      @anaaraiza5532 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The creator only said that he made the kaftan popular, not that he invented three kaftan.

    If he wasn't been so messed up he could have easily become another Calvin Klein or - even- Giorgio Armani. Besides that, his Tragedy is that all his archive was destroyed, so his innovative experiments are lost forever: that's a pity! Even Lagerfeld, always looking foreword, and forgetful about his previous collection, wouldn't have been pleased if his testimony would be utterly annihilated...Wouldn't he?
