- Johnny Marr joined Pet Shop Boys and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra on 'This Must Be The Place I Waited Years To Leave' for BBC Radio 2 in Concert, recorded on 5 December at BBC Media City in Salford, and broadcast on 6 December 2012.
"Now let me just set the scene for the millions of listeners at home and around the world listening on BBC Radio 2, if we start stage left, we'll see from Electronic Johnny Marr!"
"And the next song we're going to perform, it''s going to be the first one with Johnny on guitar and Johnny actually recorded on this with us when we made it in 1990, and the song is from Behaviour and it's called 'This Must Be The Place I Waited Years To Leave'."
(Everybody E-E-Everybody
Everybody E-E-Everybody
Everybody E-E-Everybody
Everybody jump to attention...)
Each morning after Sunblest
Feel the benefit, mental arithmetic
I waited by the staffroom
in time for benediction
Living a law just short of delusion
When we fall in love there's confusion
This must be the place I waited years to leave
To our voices nobody's listening
We shiver in the rain by the touchline
Then a coach ride to the station
'My lord, the carriage awaiteth!'
Living a law just short of delusion
When we fall in love there's confusion
This must be the place I waited years to leave
This must be the place I waited years to leave
And how? How long?
I'm listening to the words I thought I'd never hear again
A litany of saints and other ordinary men
Kneeling on the parquet
Whatever has gone wrong?
The fear and feeling hopelessness
I don't want to belong
I dreamt I was back in uniform
and a candidate for examination
History, someone had blundered
and a voice rapped 'knuckle under!'
Living a law just short of delusion
When we fall in love there's confusion
This must be the place I waited years to leave
This must be the place I waited years to leave
And how? And how? How long?
I was so lucky to be there. Watching PSB together with Johnny playing live... nothing else can beat this!
Anyone else thinks this version is amazing?
Actually... Yes, Very.
I think behaviour is the top album of psb

@@alessandrotumino6873 me too. The best album of Niel and Chris
I do! Absolutely.
Behaviour the very Best of pet shop boys 👏
The Boys achieve perfection with this song. Such a unique gem. A timeless classic.
Johnny is the coolest damn thing God ever created.
One of the true great Pet Shop Boys classics.
And they've graced us with many a classic
This is my all time favorite song from the Pet Shop Boys. I cannot wait for the new tour to hit South Florida. Keep the music coming "boys".
They should play it live again. 😊
Haven't heard this for at least 20 years!
Quality. One of their finest songs ever
SET THE BOY FREE brought me here. Thanks JFM!
PSB's best album in 1990 Behavior, insane gem in pop music
I prefer Introspective album. Anyway, all psb albums are excellent.
I'm partial to Very myself 🧡🧡🧡
This was given to me as a birthday present twice in my life: First when I got 'Behaviour' and immediately listened to it on my 12th (or 13th?) birthday and the second time when this life performance took place on my 22nd birthday and I listened to the broadcast the next day. What a great birthday joy! :)
It's also my birthday! X Best birthday present ever.
Lucky you!
Absolutely Fabulous!!!!
The album is Behaviour from 1990.
It's by far my fav PSB song too!
Awesome song with marr and pet sho boys
Brilliant. One of my fav psb´s songs
Magnificent! Beautiful! I love this PSB song very much. Great music icons and Fantastic collaboration Pet Shop Boys and Johnny Marr.
This is one my favs too...I had no idea that Marr collaborated on a live performance of this song...so beautiful.
He collaborated on the album release also.
Johnny Marr collaborated on more PSB releases than any other artist.
Thank you so much for this! Amazing!! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Title is very Meanningful💕
Johnny reacts like the Greek avgolemono sauce in a recipe. Nothing can go wrong no matter what is the pallet of your taste
Elegant. Moody. Melodic. Powerful. My alltime favourite. ❤❤❤

Leaving Newcastle it means... For a new life! Like Shearer did in Southampton
Locos psb#1
멋져
Episch. ❤❤❤
Not only a great song, but this would have made a great and epic Bond song. PSB’s should have been given the chance. IMO this version is phenomenal and as great as the original, Billie Eilish and No Time To Die do not hold a candle when compared to this masterpiece. Listen to that song three times since February, I’ve listened to this five times in the last 24 hours.
It was PSB that cancelled this in the end, they wanted to make the whole soundtrack for the movie...Bond people wanted a song and one intrumental for the movie...this is why A-ha got it...
Ameritaba un video en blu -ray
insanely beautiful and elegant, from what album is this song?
Behavior. 1990.
흥행과 가치는 다르다
The living daylights
Javier Vázquez they wrote a demo to do ‘the living daylights’ soundtrack, it was rejected and a-ha got the gig. This became the outcome.
@@simonrichards6739 Yes, it is right, friend.
Side B
Ex de the Smith....que duo
I can see this in the umbrella Academy season 2
onde acha esse dvd?
if there is a bbc video ?
with some more instruments tweaking, could have been a perfect Dalton or Craig's Bond tune
예술은 1(예술인척하는것)과 2(진짜)가 있다
Zoro Astro is best.
I love the A Ha theme, this should have been the theme for License to Kill though. Gladis Knight tune is good but not very energetic.
:)
