@@degaulle30 Me too. I've still got Moz in the corner of my room holding a torch. The man's a bloody fire hazard.
I love that they didn't neglect any of the instrumental parts, everything is in there! I feel like sometimes memorable elements get hazed over when singers want to sing what they love and the band doesn't get the time to actually put it together so it sounds heavy-handed.
If he took this set on tour I’d be there in a heartbeat.
Me too... How someone has gone from being a guilty pleasure to a badge of honour is impressive 👍
They already did a tour doing this! Maybe they will again after the reception here
Too late bud 😢😅

No chance I'd miss this.
One of my highlights of Glastonbury, so glad I was there to experience it!
This is the best thing currently on TH-cam. Who knew. Great to see the youngsters knew the lyrics. Love Ashley’s growly vocals.
He even did the rolling R ...."crrrrrrrashes into us"😮
What an absolutely compelling performance from Rick and The Blossoms. And the crowd ! Amazing.
Jeez grew up listening to this music....I never thought I'd see Rick A sign it and kill it. I must have watched it 10 times at least and each time I have smiled and teared up on equal measure....legend.....👏👏👏
The strings were 100% spot on. To think, Johnny Marr composed the strings in the original, all by himself. That blows my mind. The Smiths will always live, even though they died. 👍
There is a light that never goes out.
Were they hit by a double decker bus?
To think he composed the whole smith's legacy by the age of 23.. !!
@@andyduncan6215 wow... my usual 'they did it by' is the beatles were under 30 when they split ( maybe ringo 31).. but that's astonishing...
My man Johnny Marr started and broke up the Smiths by the time he was 23. Absolute legend.
You wouldn’t have imagined this but Rick and the Blossoms absolutely kill it. He is an absolute showman we saw him here in Oz with aha and it was a brilliant night.
Wouldn't have expected to get goosebumps reading this, but I did. Oh, the very thought of it , you LUCKY people!!
They played a nationwide tour last year and smashed it. ⭐️
I've been watching this for over 2 weeks and it's just amazing, they should tour this around
Your not the only one... something special abut this
One of my favourite ever Glastonbury moments. A joy from start to finish. Rick and the band paid perfect tribute to these amazing songs. The fact that Rick came in early a few times or forgot a few words just added to the charm.
They played my three favourite
Smiths songs - Bigmouth, William and this. And what a finale. Totally joyous, the whole crowd singing along, it brought a lump to my thoat.
I cannot stop watching this. Life long fan of Rick. Genuine person with humility & down to earth. Great voice and drummer! WOW...
Absolutely CRUSHED it !!!!! Blossoms deserve some credit too. Rick you legend
Elton John is a legend and so to is Guns and Roses but this has got to be my highlight of all of Glastonbury this year... You have won my respect RA an the Blossoms ❤
I totally agree - this performance was amazing.
The best performances I've experienced at Glasto are when the crowd and artists have fun together.
As an original Smiths fan I find this phenomenal. I love the fact so many youngsters appear to be right into it too.
Must be second generation 😀👍
Did you know that Gen Z listens to the most music released before they were born than any generation prior? I’m glad they found the Smiths.
The Smiths are TIMELESS!!!
you can't be a real Smiths fan !!
Using phenomenal, come on, man .
@@flo2474 I'm female, I sometimes use more descriptive language. It's better than great so ........
Listening to their parents music :)
This is definitely one of the best live performances of a rock/pop act in history
This set is gonna be remembered as one of Glastonbury's greatest!
This is such a blast from the past! A PROPER performance along with an audience, not on their fucking phones, or barely paying any attention to the band in front of them. Astley looks fantastic, and sounds better, whilst The Blossoms owned it, and a special shoutout to the drummer who looked so thrilled. Joy personified!
Been listening to this all week, it's absolutely joyous. Please go on tour with the Blossoms performing the Smiths Rick we'll all come! Wonderful to be able to enjoy the Smiths again. Thanks Rick and the Blossoms, more please
One of the best I’ve ever seen at Glastonbury. What a fucking superb secret set
Not only is Rick absolutely amazing at sinigng the songs of The Smiths, the Blossoms recreation of the music is just incredible. That Strat?!? oh yea it sounds incrdeible.
lost for words, most unexpected and best Glastonbury performance I've ever seen, can't stop watching it...
Holy crap, this is start to end awesome! The Crowd completely involved, the band pounding that out, and Rick... dammit it all was that just energy all over?!? Fantastic!!!
These songs need a true troubadour to make them soar.... Rick Astley is that type of great artist. He was arguably the best thing at this year's Glastonbury. Sensational.
I was a huge fan of Rick's in the 80's, and spent years listening to the jokes about him. I am so happy to see him win Glastonbury this year with such ease. And i love to see the respect he's getting from the same people who couldn't stand him back in the day!! ❤
That crowd participation is out of this world!
His deep, soulful voice complements this song so well.
True.
In the dystopia Rick Astley sings songs by artists who have been socially banished.
He sounds like a macho Morrissey
@@booster330 bruh you need your medicine
@@booster330 alright now, morissey, no need being bitter.
The highlight of Glastonbury. What a legend.
Rick rolled us all. Top talent, top class performer. Absolute legend!
he smith-rolled us
Captures everything that makes the song great from the humour to the emotionand from my perspective a great slice of Northern life.A gem of a performance.
Possibly the TH-cam video of the year
Now these are the ARTISTS i wanna see at festivals ❤❤Real legends ,real music, we all miss it!
