1:12 you are right about that I actually came across a youtube channel by one of the infamous bot hosters that seemingly stopped after getting his main account deleted over a year ago. He went by the name doeshotter and if I remember rightly he showed four laptops running the bots, probably not all his computers but it gives a good idea of how powerful this script is to someone who has never thought about hosting bots. One single computer or laptop running Linux can host many many bots at once and the TF2 client isn't even running its all being controlled and all the information on what the bots are doing is being relayed into the programs terminal. The limit of how many bots you can run on one computer depends on either the CPU or RAM (I can't remember which it was) but basically the more bots you run the more they have to fight over resources. If you've ever seen bots lagging and missing shots it means that the person hosting them is running too many bots for the computer to handle.
I know this is late news, but I had to play TF2 myself before confirming anything. The ban wave may also not be directly related to #fixtf2.
