This is so tragic both for Jonathan and his mother. Imagine being a single mother trying to take care of your young son and having to leave him at home alone so you can work some shitty minimum wage job to try to put food on the table, only to have some psycho take him away from you and torture and murder him horribly. I can’t imagine the grief and guilt.

This is such a horrible nightmare and a good example of why parents need to be very picky with whom they associate with. I would imagine the mother must live with this every single day but she did have a responsibility as she exposed her son to this monster. She obviously had very poor judgement on whom she trusted. It's as bad as if a parent brought their kid to a meth house because the operators were "nice". You can never be to picky when kids are involved. Very sad that poor child.

I've changed my mind on the death penalty. But not because of this. I always knew there were people who deserve death. The problem is that how do you make sure you don't execute innocents? The problem with the death penalty was never the penalty itself but the fact that unlike other penalties, you can't rescind it after it's been implemented. The solution to this is the very highest standard of evidence required.

*- death, it's over, no guilt, no punishment, just...gone. over and done.
*- the rest of their life being raped and beaten and being fed Sh*t Sandwiches for lunch... all alone in their tiny cell with nothing to do and no one to talk to for hours, days, weeks, months, years, decades... and they'll still be alive knowing they'll never the sunshine again. 🌞

Absolutely tragic. I agree that poor Jonathan may have not been her first victim. This clearly wasn’t a blind/drunken rage crime. Everything she did was deliberate and methodical: she called the mother to make sure she was at work. She kidnapped her victim, tied and tortured him, hid the body, and knew to hide herself from a passing vehicle. She knew what she was doing. Without the surveillance cameras, she may have gotten away with it.

Part of the thrill of harming a child is the pain it causes the parent. Mona spoke to the mom. She wanted to cause pain to the child and to whomever cared about that child. That also means she gets to hurt all of us who learn of this story and are broken-hearted for him. Keep her locked up.

      The little boy was "white".
      The murderer was "black".
That's why race may have been a factor in this case.
      Facts:
*White people are more often the victims of racial based crime than vice versa.
*White people are victimized FAR more often by black people period - whether race is a factor or not
*It's very rare that any white person ever harms a black person period.
*Much, MUCH rarer that a white person harms a black person for "racial" purposes.
So yes, this case may very well have had racial undertones. Black people just hate white people with every fiber of their being. They blame us for things that only THEY can control.

@@peteywheatstraws4909here are some sympathetic comments in this comment section, but if I’m being honest, the mother should be held at least partially liable. She went to work, which is a good thing, but she did leave the child alone when she should have had a babysitter. I suppose she couldn’t afford a babysitter, as she had a very low level job and probably didn’t pay well. If there’s no one to watch your child, paid or not, it probably means you are not being a decent person and people or family are not willing to help you anymore. Children are born to unfit parents all of the time. Some of those times, these parents can continue to increase their success of raising children by continuing education, working harder to receive better pay, and at least maintain good relationships with family and friends.

Well done doc. I appreciate the lack of joke and alliteration when dealing with such a heinous crime. You mopped the floor with Mona, you didn't pull any punches. 10/10.
What's crazy is I saw the guy in the thumbnail and wondered, did doc ever cover that woman who hit the man and left him in the windshield to bleed out, she was an absolute monster with unchecked motives. Then it turned out the picture was a woman who sounds to be as horrible and heartless with similar disregard for her victim. Chilling

I get the impression that the doc is a bit of a stoic. He certainly seems the sort by the way he appears online.
They’re always a good group to follow. The Christian stoics are my very favorite, especially the well read and practiced ones. They’re fewer and farther between in modern entertainment and news, though.
More often these days you see the atheist stoic. Which I believe Dr Grande would be a part of, though he doesn’t self identify his ideology/personal philosophy anywhere that I’ve seen.
They make more mistakes, though, in regards to blind spots they have in their insight. They have just a bit less virtue in my experience, anyway. And they’re a bit slower to see the truth in complicated situations.
Dr Grande is certainly as successful as that philosophy tends to make people.
We really ought to be teaching these principles in public school, but of course we aren’t.

I equivocate on the death penalty and when I hear something like this, I lean toward capital punishment. The perpetrator should be killed in the manner which he/she killed the victim. The family of the victim should be given the choice to carry out the sentence.

Anyone insane enough to be offended by a child hesitating to open the door for her, had to have previously shown a series of wonky & irrational thought processes in Sharon's presence. Unfortunately, those red flags were ignored.

    • @kingcosworth2643
      @kingcosworth2643 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

The problem is there is no punishment for those type of red flags with a female. In Australia we had a women who killed and cooked her boyfriend. She had been visited by police all her adult life for domestic violence, she had stabbed people a few times, everyone knew she was a psycho. But regardless of her multiple interactions with the law, there was never any punishment. Remember, womens jails are 1/10th the size of mens jails, but both women and men are immoral in equal share.

The fear that little boy must have felt....I remember when I was little, my bus driver blamed me for smearing the windows with my hand (I didn't). She made me stay in the bus after all the kids got off and forced me to clean all of the windows. She sat uncomfortably close next to me and just stared at me while I cleaned each one. I know that doesn't sound like much, but the power she had over me and the fear of not knowing what was going to happen next was terrifying. I'm fairly sure she wasn't allowed to keep me on the bus like that. I've always wondered if there are repressed memories of something horrible happening to me after that, because I literally don't remember what happened after I was done cleaning those windows.

I was never a fan of gore horror movies or books. Some years ago I was watching a low budget movie about a group of strangers brought together on an isolated construction worksite. Soon people started disappearing but how they were killed was not made clear. Finally the villains were revealed partially- two individuals wearing full welding masks who wielded acetylene torches to dismember living victims.
By this point I was so disgusted yet outraged that I watched the rest just to see how the filmmaker would tie things up. The two killers were revealed to be a waif-like pair of teenage girls and as the film ends we see the two girls hitchhiking to a new place. Far from shame or guilt the killers were giggling and backslapping. I thought it was just a truly depraved, even decadent movie. None of the elements of Aristotle’s Poetics was present in this garbage. No catharsis, no Justice, no insight into character. Just garbage. And the ‘trick’ the film makers used to ‘tame’ the gore - they switched to infrared to film the dismembering- was both ineffective and artless. Depraved and disgusting.
