Eric you are a true bad ass in my opinion driving a trail and holding a drink like it is no big deal I would be afraid of spilling it. Your years of experience definitely paying off well. And the keeper clip that belongs on the bottom??? sadly have seen many incorrectly think shock will limit, or oh it won't flex that much once it's together
@@edzimdahl1158 In many cases that keeper clip is not strong enough. This is why limiting straps are so important. Also helps when getting pulled out of mud. Prevents axle from being pulled out from underneath.
From the looks of it, no instructions were used on installation? Easy to bypass a necessity when ya wanna go ride , easy to forget after ya get back and it never fell apart, we’ve all done it 😂

If the people you "rescue" can afford these offroad rigs, can trailer them to places to stick them, roll them, and break them, with the price of fuel and the wear and tear on your truck, then they should be prepared to afford you and your expertise service. Anyway, I love your videos, I love your attitude, and I admire your heart.
Amazing that Northern Minnesota looks extremely similar to the U.P. of Michigan. Only major difference is the U.P. had copper mining not iron. But the leftovers from the mining are identical, small to very large SHARP rock piles and the same red tailings everywhere! Great series of videos and congrats on the money raised for a great cause 👏 👍 😀
The inside of the tire was rubbing the spring and spinning it into the perch , crazy 🤪 I've seen them fall out but this is definitely a first 😆 I like my leaf springs, tried and true old technology, some of the oldest! I drive on them front and back every day hundreds of miles a week in my S.A.Swap Tacoma, does great with these fuked up NY streets and offroad, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, I've watched your 9000lb Wreaker go through Everything, and Leaf Springs! You and a few other Offenders I watch were my deciding factor, I love simple, no Wobble, stable and tall , Daily driver/Offroader, I love when people actually drive their shyt! Hell Yeah brother!
I know you said you don't charge for recoveries most of the time but hopefully people use the honour system and pay what they can to at least cover expenses. Running simple old school setups keeps cost down but nothings free these days.
Is that a new camera you guys are using? The pictures on today's video feel like they are jumping out of the screen on my 4K UHD android tv! All on top of your usual great content. Colour me impressed 👍
Yup, one common denominator, whether in videos I've watched and actually seen on the trails,,, coils popping out is caused by failing to put the keeper back on when swapping springs, combined with not using limiting straps

getting an appreciation of Eric's talents. however that little Kiddo tugging the tow rope towards wrecker and hitting her shoulder while wrecker was backing up could have been catastrophic. teaching Safety to the young ones seems to be an issue yet to be dealt with.

Lol there is nothing that makes that tow truck a off road wrecker. Its a basic tow truck with hummer tires. Anyone with a 4x4 tow truck with a boom can do what you do. Please don't embarrass yourself at the Olympics event. I mean all the others have more then 4xs the amount of winches u have and way more tire and gearing and just alot more truck. I mean I will come I have your setup with 40in ground hawgs. So I'm as capable or even more then you are.
Just because you have the equipment doesn’t mean you have the skill to use it. But You’re right, any 4x4 truck with a boom can do what Eric does…. Once…. until it breaks then they will need Eric or Rory to tow him out. Eric has towed out literally a 1000 broken trucks from the woods over the past 20 years and has not charged them a penny.
@@RustyZipper yea well I been towing and off roading since the mid 80s so I think I have a little experience in it. But I really am surprised he is going to bring that for the off-road Olympics. But I'm happy to laugh and have something to slow things up.

In Moab , Utah , during the 2022 Easter Jeep Safari , Rory Irish ( Trailmater), spotted Eric on a trail rated as an " 8 " , and , only once did Rory have to winch Eric up a ledge . Why get on Eric`s channel and disparage him ? He seems like a very decent , hard working man. If your skills match or exceed his , good , but that doesn`t give you the right to knock him . If you so good that you could compete in that " Off Road Tow Truck Olympics, then go compete .

Limiting straps will prevent the spring from coming out again.

They make hold downs to keep the spring in the pocket on the axle. That and a set of limiting straps and he won't have that issue again.
