One thing I find in Red Velvet that I don't find in a lot of popular girl groups is they have great musicality (pretty sure that's the word for it at least). I usually don't like cute concepts but when I heard Ice Cream Cake I was hooked af, and it's not b/c of the concept, but how interesting the music is (relative to other pop music) and how genuinely good their voices are.

Exactly. People are always asking me why i hate cute concepts, but i like red velvet but not twice. That's the difference. Their vocal ability songs through regardless of the concept.

I'm sorry, but I've heard from many different accounts that the ICC lyrics are not sexual in Korean. It's just that English has a LOT of euphemisms to sex, of which are not applicable to other languages and vice versa. For example, in the last scene of Bae Bae's MV, BB and their foreign lady crew are dressed in traditional Korean dress, hanbok, on the moon with rice cakes. To anyone who does not understand Korean culture, this would have little to no significance other than ~aesthetic~ choices by the MV director. However, "making rice cakes" is a common euphemism for sex in Korean and there is old Korean folklore that says when you look at the moon, you can see a rabbit standing beside a Cassia tree, pounding rice into flour to make heavenly rice cakes, thus connecting the two together to make one GIANT metaphor to sex that only Koreans would understand. Different languages have different nuances. What may sound dirty translated could not be sexual in any way shape or form in its mother language.

That pounding the rice flour is a euphemism for sex in korea bcs I've seen it in a Kdrama where the two protagonists accidentally had sex(due to alcohol) and instead of them shown kissing etc, they were shown pounding rice flour under the moonlight. (The drama is *Fated to love you* )
The end of the ice cream cake mv is pretty sexual tho. Flames don't shoot out like that unless it's something else such as...

We don't really have any classical musicians complementing kpop in Korea (probably because they think it's just completely different/they don't want to be bitten to death by angry kpop fans who can go pretty viral) so you really are a one of a kind :) please keep up the good work!

I so much appreciate how technical they are when it comes to how they comment in music. To be honest, when they talk about the melody and some other things related to music instruments (idk what else to say pls correct me) and the voice of these KPOP groups, they just know how to say something, unlike other reactors who only focus on the face, appearance and the music video itself. This is just what I want to bingewatch bec then you are able to learn and appreciate KPOP artists for their music. Thank you for coming up with this kind of channel. I appreciate it!

lol Major/minor scales are the scale in which pop music is written. There's no east west south xD And the "up" and "down" they were mentioning were the key changes. If you listen closely during the Lalalala part before the chorus the song's key changes (modulation) and goes up, but then after the chorus it goes back down.

And please mention that Russian Roullete & Rookie don't have straight division into Red and Velvet sides. they are like a combination between Red and Velvet concepts

Kevin and Jenny are my favourites out of the reactors. I love it when they get excited because none of the other reactors get as excited as they do. They almost always feel the same way about things and when they go on tangent I love it. They're very entertaining to watch. Also, Kevin is very quirky which is actually kinda cute and Jenny has nice style and is really pretty. (wow I'm fangirling a lot while writing this.) You guys are great.

I think it's just an attention thing; if you can keep your attention on the screen, actually actively "watching" the whole time, then you'll pick up on all the minor elements they put into the video... Because modern videos are full of tiny fraction-of-a-second clips, you almost have to pause it all the time to see some of what's there...

I care about music, I also like watching people care about music, and other react channels just comment the looks, dances, most doesn't even care about the music and reacted just for the sake of kpop being kpop. I hate that. Those people doesn't even care about the music. I like the fact that you guys focuses more on the technicalities of the song, instead of appearances, and actually care about the vocals, beat, sound, tone, chord progressions, etc. in the song you reacted to. My English is not good so I don't know If I understand well. You seem to think that the lyrics of ICE CREAM CAKE have a sexual meaning. BUT most Koreans DO NOT really think this song has a sexual meaning. This song is about love on the surface, but there are many people who interpret the story of a vampire girl who is trying to make a boy who loves her a vampire. In fact, it is said that SM referred to a movie "the velvet vampire" as a music video concept. Of course, the lyrics of this song can be viewed in a sexual sense, because people think differently. However, everyone seemed so obviously to think of the lyrics as sexual thing, so I wanted to explain another point of view.
