You can either: A) Get the PS4 version, which is playable on both PS4 and PS5, comes with the PS5 upgrade, and possibly costs less than the PS5 version. or B) Get the PS5 version, which is the same game, but only playable on the PS5. At this point, the only reason to buy PS5 versions of games is for that white-banner box art.
And then I lose out on all of the visual and performance upgrades. Seriously, if I wanted my game to look and run like it did on PS4, I'd have just kept my PS4. What the fuck?
Remember in 2012 when sony sold us a bundle of 5 god of war games for $40 and now ten years later we get the last of us part 1 for $70. Modern gaming sure is fun :)
Remember how you (someone who never played Last of Us) paid $60 for Last of Us as a new game? (PS3) Now people (who have never played Last of Us) can pay $70 for Last of Us as a new game. (PS5) Or they and you can wait 4 months for it to become a $40 game. I really don't understand how you people can complain. You literally have no argument. You have no stakes. You either already own it, so what do you care about waiting. Or you don't plan to get it again, so what do you care about how much it costs.
@@thedarkemissary Look, I don't want to argue with you. I'm just saying the remake of tlou does not need to be $70. Many remakes and remasters, and even collections like the crash and spyro trilogies were $40, and those offered more than what the remake of tlou offers. The game isn't even 10 years old, it didn't need a remake, it had a perfectly fine remaster on PS4 that is still accessible. Understand that people are upset because instead of remaking games that could benefit from remakes, or making a new game, they do things like these. There needs to be a limit.
.....Uh, the God of War games already existed lol. The HD versions were quick ports and touch-ups. Last of Us Part 1 is a remake for PS5 gen. It can't use the old assets so they have to rebuild. It more or less has the budget of a new IP.
Unfortunately, we're just at a point where video games take fucking forever to make. Although I don't know why people are complaining about less exclusives, less exclusives is a good thing.
Hands down the best collection/remaster of this generation has to be Halo MCC. It was really rough at launch but now, being able to play all 6 games plus with their respective multiplayers and being able to queue up for any of them is fantastic. Aswell as the recent addtion of playing custom games. Makes you really feel like you didnt miss anything from the original titles. Sure with other remasters and collections, they let you play just the story, but they also miss the community from the original game and the reason why people loved the game
Not to mention with the recent shutdown of all 360 online services, were it not for the MCC, the online multiplayer community for Halo 3, 4 and Reach wouldve been gone for good (save for some niche communities potentially running private servers). With the MCC, not only can you revisit the classic and iconic Halo CE and 2 multiplayer (already long gone by now on the original Xbox), you can continue to play Halo 3, Halo 4 and Halo Reach online as if nothing happened.
I got that on game pass to prep for infinite. Never played halo in my life. Played mostly in order, and no I can say with an unbiased OPINION, that reach and 2 are best in the series.
The most important thing about rereleases is that, usually, they have ALL the content and bug-fixes on-disc, including DLC. So you get the "Definitive Version" of the game and get to keep it!
the only one of those games that crashes if you try to play it on the PS5 is the first Uncharted game. whether it's disc or digital, you get to a certain point and the games crashes and it'll keep doing it. I'm guessing that why they released the PS5 later on. they should have just released a patch.
Scott, you know since you owned uncharted 4/lost legacy you could've gotten Uncharted Legacy of Theves for 10 us$? If you put either game disk in, you could've bought the game digitally for really cheap. I'm not sure if Sony is still doing this, but it is how I got the game, since I had uncharted 4 already.
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I always advocate for remasters/re-releases being done. I got to experience SO many games from past generations due to this, as someone who grew up strictly on Nintendo consoles. The Crash Bandicoot Trilogy, Spyro Trilogy, Uncharted Trilogy, Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, Mega Man Classic/X Legacy Collection, I can keep going all day. So I always support remasters, I see them as inoffensive/harmless at worst.
Same, it always helps me with games I missed the chance to play like Stubbs the Zombie for example or MediEvil especially since it is now my favourite video game ever and you can unlock the original PS1 version by completing a side task in the remake.
This is absolutely nothing wrong with them inheritly, the problem is companies charging more then what they are worth. All of remasters recently are only a generation or 2 old and have very little to no improvements. That is specifically the kind of “remaster” Scott is talking about.
@@itsonlyme112 The graphics were remade, yes, but the games still control and play exactly how they did back then (at least for the most part, minor differences here and there). That's why I still lumped them in because they're mostly exactly the same, unlike the brand new Crash 4 which is just it's own experience.
@@steelbear2063 You are right, for some games where the print qty's are quite low or for some other reasons, sometimes you need to jump the gun, but not often and its hard to know when a game just released if you need to buy right now. Usually though you can wait for at least the 1st price drop 😁.
Much like the PS3 and PS4 in it's first 3 years, This is one of the reasons why the PS5 is currently not worth getting for as much as it costs, I whould rather wait for more exclussive software and refreshing expireinces + a price drop.
Does Scott know that his PS4 disc of Uncharted 4 (or Lost Legacy, either works) would've unlocked the PS5 versions for $10 as opposed to the...I'm gonna assume $50 that he spent on the PS5 disc?
@@onerandomguy4832 Except it literally does. His whole point is that it's insane that it costs $50 for just those two games, when other collections have received full on remakes for less, and how you can just play the original PS4 versions of them on the PS5. Except he neglects to mention that if you own JUST ONE of the original games in this collection (which most PS4 owners do, the game was packed in with a majority of consoles), be it physical or digital, you can get the PS5 version by just upgrading for $10.
The only noticeable difference for me with the Uncharted 4 PS5 remaster was 60fps boost. It's annoying that I had to pay 60 dollars for what was essentially a 60fps patch (which the Last of Us Part II got for free) but it makes a huge difference to me. I know it's a first world problem but 30fps makes my eyes bleed lol. It seems like 60fps is the new standard with this new generation and I hope that keeps going
@@DiskusGames well even then, the REAL new standard is having graphics options. you have those die hard "4k raytracing" goons, and the performance mode
What really makes me mad is that no one really cared to do this when generational leaps really mattered. Like it would've so cool if GBC games were remade for GBA or PS1 games for PS2. Another thing that's beyond me is the wild obsession of polygon count and fps. Like when last of us was "remade" everyone was bullshiting about how it feels like a "modern" game now. As if the og wasn't a modern game.
The gap between consoles in terms of visuals is reaching the point where you barely tell the difference because a lot of the games are still using the same engines as games from the previous gen and games with hyper realistic graphics have kinda already hit their ceiling or close to it.
That's why I won't buy the PS6. The difference between current generation and next generation will be even smaller, so I think there will be many new games on PS5 even when the next generation has been out for a while
Technically, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart can only run on PS5 because the fast storage is required for the "rifts between levels" to function without a loading screen.
@@RodaMoonknight thats different. The portals in Portal use data from the same level. In Rift Apart, the portals have to load in data from entirely different levels.
@@onerandomguy4832 Apparently most people did care since PS5's are still limited availability. The big improvements are in framerate anyway. Rift Apart runs at 60fps while R&C for PS4 runs at 30.
There are differences between PS4 and PS5 differences of classic style indie games, believe it or not. Take Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom. The PS5 version is capable of running at 120Hz / native 4K. On a nice display that supports that it'll look amazing. It's a great game too. Worth checking out. The new Klonoa game also looks and runs better on a PS5 than a PS4.. And don't even bother with the Switch port of that if you can help it.
I feel like FF7R and Legacy of Thieves collection are kind of bad examples as it actually showcases something really good introduced in this generation, that being upgrade paths, Itergrade was a literal free upgrade, just intermission cost a little extra which was understandable considering the quality of it. And Legacy of thieves collection also had an upgrade path for 10 bucks for both PS4 discs, meaning you got one of the 2 games free if you didn't own the other game already. Both games run and play significantly better, Uncharted and FF7R both were miracles on PS4 and espeically FF7R was absolutely held back by the hardware, Uncharted uses great motion blur so the lower framerate isn't that noticable, but going from 1080 30 to 4k 60 / 1080 120 on both isn't a minor upgrade i'd say, definitely worth a small upfgrade fee (as long as it's no more than 10 bucks) plus remember it's not like they're wasting years of development time on them, these games were both developed with higher fidelity in mind. And selling them at a more expensive price is defintely no not immeditely devalue the IP, Nintendo is very cautous with discounts or ports for the same reason. It also shows that they're trying to get a great experience across the board, the PC versions for all 4 games you showed being a thing is definitley a factor in some of these definitve editions happening currently.
@@aoBubs yeah I was wrong on that, there have been updates to unlock the framerate so rn it’s at about 4k 40fps with freesync, still a considerable upgrade imo, for 5 bucks there’s no reason not to upgrade if you have the chance
For me most of these remasters are just these games coming to PC for the first time. And if they are gonna go through the trouble of releasing them for PC it makes sense to put them on ps5 as well
9:44 that’s exactly how I feel. I treat my PS5 like a PS4 Pro Max since I don’t have any games that really take advantage of the hardware (Alan Wake 2 and Spider-Man 2 for example). If we get a PS5 Pro that’ll probably feel like true next gen. Maybe 4K 60fps minimum or more 120fps.
To be fair FFVIIR is the only title in that PS5 batch that offered a free upgrade for all those features. Episode Yuffie was $20. If I wanted to play Spider-Man remastered at launch I would have to pay $70 for what should be a free upgrade and an expansion that builds upon its base mechanics less effectively than the thing I paid $20 for.
With stylized art design, stuff like "graphics" and "Fidelity" don't matter that much as gameplay. Just look at "Deep Rock Galactic" and "Warhammer Boltgun"
Honestly this is why I’m still in no rush to grab a ps5, as much as the quality of life stuff would be nice, I’m waiting for amazing software I can only get there. I do think it’s a shame that we are getting less and less new ip through the generations though.
yeah my excuse was I wanted to get it before Final Fantasy XVI comes out next year. and Spider-Man 2 is supposed to come out next year as an exclusive too. hopefully they'll be worth it, but...either way, I do love the PS5. sold my PS4, no regrets so far.
Even if you only play PS4 games they play so much better on PS5. Honestly if you can afford to there’s no reason not to buy a PS5 now if you plan to eventually, you are just having a worse experience.
The Cowabunga Collection I kinda understand if both versions are the same price, people just like to have certain covers for consistency's sake. Also with FF7R, it had a completely new DLC scenario and I don't think I ever heard of a previous gen game having next gen DLC so it makes sense they went the whole "upgrade route" with that. Stuff like Uncharted though having an entirely new collection with very slight changes at 50 bucks when they could easily just make heavily discounted ports of each just with the PS5 box art is a bit of a headscratcher, ngl.
Uncharted Collection was a $10 upgrade if you owned U4 (which can be bought for $6 used). It included Lost Legacy a new game and a free Uncharted movie ticket at launch. Also personally the 60+FPS, DualSense, loading times, graphics were worth it for someone who hadn’t played them before. These remasters are much better than PS4 gen simply because most have a paid upgrade path except TLOU Part 1 which I think had an outrageous price to buy again.
I highly disagree on when you said Ratchet and Clank Rift apart isn’t that big of a jump from the 2016 game. Rift Apart literally takes full advantage of the PS5’s SSD instant load times that they literally turned it into a mechanic. The instant switching wouldn’t have really worked on PS4 unless you had a giant load screen at the beginning of the game. Also the environments and models are giant improvement from the 2016 game, to the point where Ratchets ps4 model looks off, especially with the subpar fur shading.
Pretty sure the "Rifts" effect has been done before as well as shown on Psychonauts 2. If you mean like Fur textures and so on sure, that's next gen and maybe the triggers and Dualsense vibrations but the game overall could be done on ps4. Look at Returnal and how it'll be on PC. It can be done, just like any brand, they try to sell you on with smart talk. The SSD is indeed fast, but we haven't seen a game that actually uses it to a full capacity because most games already feel like ps4 games enhanced. Even more when games weight a lot even if they said they could compress it, look at Horizon Forbidden west
Actually , if you have uncharted 4 for ps4 and you upgrade the game for ps5, paying the 10 bucks, you also get the uncharted the lost legacy for free, i did that and it worked, so thats nice at least for sony.
It's like they run out of Ideals i feel your pain . When a new cool game comes out its better just to wait like a whole year Maybe more. To see if there gonna. Add any new content . What you said you're so right this is the reason why I stopped collecting games.
The Gears community has been trying to get a Master Chief Collection style game for Gears for yeeeeaaaarssssss now. Gears of War: The Marcus Fenix Collection just rolls off the tongue. We NEED it.
y'know, to give Scott credit of the whole "GBC is a separate console" thing, there are way more games you can only play on GBC than games you can only play on PS5 man this generations wacko
It's safer to remake an already successful game than to make new game. Remakes and remasters have their place, but if the game is already playable via backwards compatibility, it looks like a cash grab.
You're not wrong. I still can't decide whether I should just buy the remaster or play the original versions of some games because the differences are insignificant unless there is additional content included.
@@GenerationZ313 most of the time unless it's a price issue, 9 times out of 10 there is literally no reason to play the original over the remaster, especially if it's on PS5 where the much faster loading times make it superior by default.
I’m interested in getting Metroid Prime Remastered for Switch. Mostly because I never played the original GameCube version in the first place. That’s what happened with Skyward Sword HD. I never played the original Wii version so that’s why I got it for Switch and loved it. So remasters/ports for new consoles can be decent ways of reselling the old game to new players that never played it the first time. Especially if the original was on a now obsolete console.
i don’t see why he got mad i would rather play the best version the generations go from 720-1080p 30fps to 1080p 30-60 fps to 4k 60-120 fps with no load times
this gen felt like the most "make a console so next gen that the blockbuster games are sure to follow" but most games were barely using up the PS4 or Xbone so having a huge suite of new tech was cool for God of War, Spiderman and Sony's Astrobot Playroom and no one else needed an update.
The problem with something like Legacy of Thieves collection is that if it was any other publisher, an update that minor would be released as a free update. But with Sony, it costs $50 USD.
Scott's being misleading, It was a $10 update for all owners of the PS4 version. In fact, if you only owned one game it'll give you the other for no extra cost. It's actually a great deal. I only owned Uncharted 4 and buying LL alone would have cost $10, so for $10 getting it and a remaster of U4 was incredible.
Gears of War itself was a test project for Epic to develop Unreal 3 on the Xbox 360. The toolchain for the Xbox 360 wasn't fully completed prior to its release, and there was even a lawsuit over that between Silicon Knights and Epic over this; albeit Epic won the case, due to their contract stating it wasn't complete, from what I understand, and then counter sued them. Gears of War 3 was used internally to stress test the PS3 internally at Epic. So, in a way, Gears of War Ultimate Edition being made for the Xbox One makes sense to me, albeit it wasn't done by Epic this time. edit: I believe that the Mega Man Legacy Collection is also _technically_ not emulation in a sense, Capcom for whatever believes that emulating an NES breaks some copyright that Nintendo owns (even though it doesn't), even if the emulator is developed in-house by Capcom, so the team behind it had to figure out how to emulate the game in a way that doesn't actually "emulate it." The game isn't running "in an emulator," from what I understand they had to figure out what an emulator would do and then just code it to do that to begin with. This solved Capcom's concern with shipping an NES emulator and NES roms even though neither are technically Nintendo IP.
I think with the “remastered” PS4 titles on PS5, those might have been because Sony wouldn’t allow access to stuff like 120FPS for regular PS4 games running on PS5, so while developers could have updated the PS4 version to run better on PS5 without creating a full PS5 version like some games did, Sony effectively forced most developers to make full separate PS5 versions if they wanted to take advantage of everything the PS5 offered. This is again, something Microsoft did differently by allowing regular Xbox One games to take advantage of the Xbox Series X & S for things like 120FPS without having to make a native Series X & S version.
I like when popular games are lazily remastered because it means the price to get the previous version second hand is going to go down so I can just buy that
I like the recent remasters because they're being released alongside the games coming to pc for the first time. So if pc players get all of the upgrades, why wouldn't the console players, so they just release it on pc as the game itself and then as a remaster on console. Also, I think they're great as a fan too, cause I get to experience the game again in a better way. Also tlou remaster looks genuinely so much better than it use to and it looks so gorgeous. So I don't mind the recent remasters....Also you DON'T have to buy them if you don't want to. Some people need to grasp that
Great point about Cowabunga Collection being released on PS4 and PS5. However, Rockstar released the original ("remastered") Red Dead Redeemption on PS4 and people complained about that. But yeah, I got a PS5 in 2023 and am mostly playing my PS4 games on it; just enjoying the faster load times. Not much new shit I care about. Gaming DOES feel like it's plateued over the last 5 years or so.
Although a newer and more well optimized versions of 7th gen games is great, it would've been even nicer if the Xbox one and PS4 just launched with backwards compatibility and focused on games that were actually new.
To be fair Sony only charged $9.99 to upgrade to the Uncharted Legacy of Thieves, if you has purchased either of those games on the PS4. The 60/120fps does make a big difference with those.
I just wish they would of made more. I want the Ratchet trilogy or Resistance. Jak as an affordable physical copy. All of those and God of War 1, 2, and the PSP games playable on my PS5 so I don’t have to keep a PS3 plugged in would’ve been great.
We consumers really need to start getting pissy about partial collections…if you’re going to ask us to pay for old games, give us more complete collections, the whole series plus spin offs.
as a guy who skipped ps4/xbox one era, now havin a ps5 I adore some of those ps5 remakes, notably ghost of tsushima directors cut and last us part 1. I never played either of those games before this gen, so experiencing them for the first time in this gen is pretty awesome with all the ps5 gimmicks.
I see it as Playstation is moving their attention to PC, which is crazy to think about, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Ghost of Tsushima next. On PC, Playstation games are some of the best looking games in general available on the market, and PS5 is being side stepped to put them on PC with a "new" audience. I think Sony is doing fairly well on PC because they bought a studio to only port games to Steam. Love it or hate it, Nintendo is constantly giving people a game to talk about and Playstation wants to take on two markets going forward, sort of following Xbox's focus on Gamepass rather than the console, and that's too bad. Overall appeal is nice, but they won't develop another Gravity Rush or LocoRoco. I don't see people getting nostalgia for the PS5 or this generation of consoles in general because they're losing their identity that made them special in the first place.
Some games don't deserve to be put on the same pile. Yes, FFVIIR has a PS5 version (which includes the DLC), but you can still use your PS4 disc to play the PS5 version (doesn't include the DLC, which you can still just buy only that). The worst ones are when there is a PS5 version released that has no improvements but they are still too stingy to let you download the PS5 version to at least get a new trophy list.
Lol just after you posted that video, they are rumors of a remake of Horizon Zero Dawn. A game that is only 5 years old and is already running at 4K60 on PS5 and available for free for PS Plus owners
All I got from this segment of Scott's Stash is that I should buy God of War III Remastered despite owning the PS3 original. Also, I had no idea the Saga collection exists.
Unfortunately some of the games in that collection are download codes and by now the codes have expired, so the collection is a lot small as a result. I just picked up a ps3 for the first time and was hoping to pick up a sealed copy and was disappointed to learn this. I ended up getting the gow 1 + 2 bundle instead as a result
Apparently PS5 has more input latency when using the PS4 side of things, so that's a legitimate benefit to getting the PS5 versions of stuff like Street Fighter 6.
I think we're underestimating how much help a lot of the more casual gamers need to buy a game. A good portion of people who play on consoles but don't pay actually attention to games don't understand backwards compatibility and won't buy a game at all if they don't see a PS5 version. I remember a few years ago Microsoft was releasing stats about play times on Xbox One, and the vast majority didn't actually use the Xbox 360 backcompat function at all, even though that was positioned as a big selling point.
For Ps5 the best thing that made me feel like "ok this is starting to feel next gen" was playing the Dead Space remake. And i have a Series S and its nice but just as a better xbox one. Hi fi rush and psychonauts 2 being my favorites to play on it.
@@JB2FROSTY I did give it time. Twice as much time as PS2. I got one from PS Direct and sold it. Aside from technical hardware improvements, there's no reason to own it. Many games still play better on Xbox as well due to limitations of PS4 Pro versions of games.

I honestly see the difference in the 2 versions of ghost of tsushima. I don't know about the other games u spotlighted. I have seven games that I own on both ps4 and ps5 and can honestly say the difference in versions is extremely noticeable. I do agree the last 2 generations of gaming have gotten a little boring. The last of us part 1 looks alot better than the ps4 remaster. Just my opinion Scott awesome channel keep the good content coming man.
I only got my ps5 back in July, and only did cause my ps4 was barely hanging in there. I've enjoyed my time with the console but I'm waiting for a game that will truly make the ps5 stand out.
I'm happy to see so many games being kept up so people can continue to experience them. Even if it's definitely about the money, it seems to at least be some form of preservation by legitimate means. AND im very happy they brought it to pc. But it's crazy how often they do this. The big benefit in my opinion for all these stupid remasters (I could already play these games on PS5....) is that they often use this as a grounds to also bring it to pc.
@@TurtleSauceGaming i am not negative since i don’t use that crap. You know only small amount of games and mostly relatively new being re released. It is not for preservation by any means but for ez profit.
I agree with this entire video… except for the end, some of these Ps5 remasters are really gamechanging. FFVII Remake Integrade is vastly better on ps5 than the original version, and same goes for Ghost of Tsushima. Now I agree some of them are kind of head scratchers but those two are vastly better in the ps5 version lol
Ghost of Tsushima runs vastly better, but IIRC Digital Foundry found that there isn't a single visual setting difference between the PS4 and PS5 versions. Loading time is faster, performance is better, and the haptics are better. Is that _really_ "vastly better"? Don't get me wrong, I just picked up a physical copy of the directors cut last week. But that's because I'm a collector with fiscal responsibility problems, not because the PS5 version is much better than the PS4 code running on the console.

They still have so much work to be faithful to the OG games though, MCC still needs fixes to this very day.

The most important thing about rereleases is that, usually, they have ALL the content and bug-fixes on-disc, including DLC.
So you get the "Definitive Version" of the game and get to keep it!

PS4 was my very first PlayStation and I am so thankful they released the Uncharted trilogy on the console. Now it’s one of my favorite series.
the only one of those games that crashes if you try to play it on the PS5 is the first Uncharted game. whether it's disc or digital, you get to a certain point and the games crashes and it'll keep doing it. Scott's hands having their own channel is going pretty well so far
the PS5 is quite literally just a remastered PS4
Now officially on a Dunkey video. What a time to be alive.
It's still so weird to me that we're in the 9th generation and we talk about the 8th generation in the past tense now
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I always advocate for remasters/re-releases being done.
Spyro and Crash are a different case because they were remakes rather than a remaster
For me, it was games like Grim Fandango that made me appreciate remasters.

@@onerandomguy4832 He should’ve mentioned it especially since PS4 remasters didn’t offer the same upgrade path.

I’m a new viewer and I love your talks about gaming in the videos, keep up the good stuff man!
Harvest Moon: Back to Nature, which was released on the original PlayStation, has a PS4 and PS5 version.
Just watching this knowing his rug is on a table hits different.
Bro what really?
The only noticeable difference for me with the Uncharted 4 PS5 remaster was 60fps boost. It's annoying that I had to pay 60 dollars for what was essentially a 60fps patch (which the Last of Us Part II got for free) but it makes a huge difference to me. I know it's a first world problem but 30fps makes my eyes bleed lol. It seems like 60fps is the new standard with this new generation and I hope that keeps going
Then you need a better Tv or monitor. That isn't Sony's fault
@@JB2FROSTY it depends on the game's frame rate cap, not the tv.. even then all modern tvs already have a 60htz panel.
60fps was already the standard for years, at least for video games. The new standard is 120fps for consoles.
Let‘s hope then that devs don‘t fall too hard into the raytracing meme, then we might actually witness 60fps becoming a standard.
The difference between current generation and next generation will be even smaller, so I think there will be many new games on PS5 even when the next generation has been out for a while
Technically, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart can only run on PS5 because the fast storage is required for the "rifts between levels" to function without a loading screen.
even then, im sure they could make it run with an hdd, albeit a bit slowly
seems like they already put in safeguards for slower drives into it
Psychonauts 2, Portal: hello there
@@RodaMoonknight thats different.
That's a pathetic excuse since original Prey did that years ago.
I thought uncharted was 1440p 60fps, 4K 30 fps, 1080p 120 fps
@@aoBubs yeah I was wrong on that, there have been updates to unlock the framerate so rn it’s at about 4k 40fps with freesync, still a considerable upgrade imo, for 5 bucks there’s no reason not to upgrade if you have the chance
The ps4 lo was limited to 1080/60, there were no 120 fps games on ps4
If I wanted to play Spider-Man remastered at launch I would have to pay $70 for what should be a free upgrade and an expansion that builds upon its base mechanics less effectively than the thing I paid $20 for.
completely unrelated, just wanted to say that I love the Hausu pfp :)

Returnal and Rift apart are worth the ps5 alone.
@@RodaMoonknight ignorant
Actually , if you have uncharted 4 for ps4 and you upgrade the game for ps5, paying the 10 bucks, you also get the uncharted the lost legacy for free, i did that and it worked, so thats nice at least for sony.

Especially if the original was on a now obsolete console.
the original looks just as good, look at a comparison video
i don’t see why he got mad i would rather play the best version the generations go from 720-1080p 30fps to 1080p 30-60 fps to 4k 60-120 fps with no load times
I feel like Scott’s carpet is about to get the best back massage of it’s entire life.
I only have the current consoles so remasters are super useful to me. They let me play old games I normally wouldn't be able to.
this gen felt like the most "make a console so next gen that the blockbuster games are sure to follow" but most games were barely using up the PS4 or Xbone so having a huge suite of new tech was cool for God of War, Spiderman and Sony's Astrobot Playroom and no one else needed an update.
Got through the whole video like "wow, surprised he hasn't brought up TLOU rema- oh there it is"
In hindsight, seeing the PC port of Rift Apart, that game would NEVER have worked on an HDD.
*$10
Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy feel amazing at 60fps though
Also 360 games, I’ve heard you can run new vegas at 120fps or og gears trilogy at that framerate
Nintendo fans complaining about 3d all stars
Meanwhile PlayStation guys buying The Last of Us for the third time:
However,
Rockstar released the original ("remastered") Red Dead Redeemption on PS4 and people complained about that.
But yeah, I got a PS5 in 2023 and am mostly playing my PS4 games on it; just enjoying the faster load times. Not much new shit I care about.

Unless Sony and Microsoft change their act, Nintendo only for me from now on.
Uncharted remastered on PS5 is not even a full remaster cause it doesn’t include Golden Abyss :(
Golden Abyss is one of the Best.

GTA IV Remastered is all I ask
as a guy who skipped ps4/xbox one era, now havin a ps5 I adore some of those ps5 remakes, notably ghost of tsushima directors cut and last us part 1.
So what you're saying is Sony is given us console guys the finger
Some games don't deserve to be put on the same pile. Yes, FFVIIR has a PS5 version (which includes the DLC), but you can still use your PS4 disc to play the PS5 version (doesn't include the DLC, which you can still just buy only that).
The worst ones are when there is a PS5 version released that has no improvements but they are still too stingy to let you download the PS5 version to at least get a new trophy list.

Also, I had no idea the Saga collection exists.
Unfortunately some of the games in that collection are download codes and by now the codes have expired, so the collection is a lot small as a result. I just picked up a ps3 for the first time and was hoping to pick up a sealed copy and was disappointed to learn this.

Great games. Really enjoyed the ps4 gen and ps5 gen so far. Just miss having new metal gear solid games and some other old series.

I got a copy of Lost Legacy for $4, a $10 upgrade for the PS5 version of U4 and LL ain't bad.
I think I'm gonna hold out for Uncharted Remastered on the PS9.
