It's very nice to see you doing this. But I would like to tell all there is no need to remove the assembly and avoid the power supply. one can just measure the ohmic value at the motors connector. It should show 8 to 15 ohms even when spindle is rotated.

I replaced the defective DVD with an old Apple PATA DVD-RAM DVR-115DBK. I removed the front bezel and tray cover and fashioned some brackets from the bad LG drive. Works great.

Kal maine dvd ko khola our use thik se handle nahi kr paya. To pura loader kam se gaya.
