I joined a local repair café, just for that reason. Because it's sometimes shockingly easy fix, help people save money and it diverts the item from going to the landfill. 👍👍 I am sure you have help and inspired many.
I have watched a few of your videos and I like your diagnosis approach and your video production skills. It's entertaining and educational! I subscribed. I enjoy taking things apart and figuring out what is broken or how they work and learn from these videos., If I can't fix it they usually get broken down in useful parts before going to the land fill. thermal fuses, power cords, switches, springs......
Thank you! I really don’t like throwing things away when oftentimes it can be so simple to fix them. The videos take a lot of work, but I hope it helps others, even if only to inspire them to try.
enjoyable video but I have to ask...did it last? Looks like a temporary fix at best but the motors can be purchased separately with or without the plastic top called a hub.
It’s not really a long term solution. It honestly needs a new motor for a lasting fix. It’s still working but a little bit intermittent, depends on the day and the disc.
I have s question: i have the samsung HT725 dvd player (complete home theater) and the problem is the dvd loader drive deck. I order from ebay the same dvd player (used) but is region 1 (my player is region 2). If i take dvd loader drive deck from that i order and put to my player, i will have a problem with the region code?
Hey, so i have an old philips dvd player, which has a led screen ig beside the dvd insert area, apparently it keeps showing the word “load” and none of my dvds are working. My dvds are all good, the player still shows this How do i fix this?
Unfortunately there are quite a few possible reasons it could be doing this, but a failed drive motor like I found in mine is a very real possibility. Good luck!
Previous coment got removed, probably due to pictures link. I just bought a used Sony DVP-NS52P (Euro spec) to play some Region 2 DVDs I have on my CRT that never made it to Blu-Ray. When I put a DVD it gets stuck on loading. Opened the top and the motor spins, capacitors don't have leaks. If there is no disk, player shows message that it can't read CD/DVD. Where should I look next? Thanks in advance.
Unfortunately It’s hard to show, because the brush leads are inside the motor, and it’s not really designed to be disassembled. Honestly the best proper fix is to replace that motor, but sadly it might be cheaper and easier to replace the entire unit.

yes, yes you can fix it.
Hah! Well, not always, I was borderline on giving up this time... persistence prevails!
Interesting to see inside of a DVD player.
I was a bit surprised by the layout and components inside as well.

Я так понимаю, что бывают проблемы с моторчиками, да! Но чаще, все же, дохнут эти дешевые лазеры SONY. Like!
Thank 👍👍👍👍
You're welcome!

I haven’t tried it personally, but I bet it will work. I doubt the region lock is part of the drive unit.
Excellent 👍👌
Thanks!
Where are you located? I have a dual dvd vhs Sony that’s doing the same thing! Lol
Now it is stuck on “the disc is dirty” & won’t play.
Bummer!!! You can try cleaning the laser lens with soft cloth and rubbing alcohol
