    The best decision I’ve made this year was buying the V6 Camry. It looks amazing and it has a great MPG ( I’ve found it better than my previous car 2011 Hyundai Sonata). The V6 is the highlight of this car so smooth. It also handles pretty good for a sedan. Way better than I expected.

    • @skifree0
      @skifree0 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      2011 sonata? those were the generation 1 Theta engines.... ANYTHING has better fuel economy than those. I had a 13 optima with the 2.4 and man I was getting 20mpg tops....on a base engine

    • @RPD91
      @RPD91 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      skifree yeah those engines were not fuel efficient. The 2018 Sonata with the non GDi engine has worse fuel economy than my V6 Camry unfortunately

    This new Camry.... the first time in latest memory where Toyota started waking up...
    .....keep it up, Toyota! You guys are killing it with your latest vehicles! First the new Camry, then the new Avalon, after the new Corolla Hatchback, and hopefully the new RAV4 once I get the opportunity in testing it out in the flesh someday! With predictably more to come very soon!
    Toyota is definitely in the right direction.

    As far as appearance goes, this looks way better than the new Accord IMO. The Accord looks decent from the front, so-so from the side, and fugly from the back. The 2017 Accord looked much better.

    I bought a 2012 SE v6 model when it came out and still love it! Ended buying my wife a 16 SE when it came out. I highly suggest the v6. Hers is a four cylinder and it's kinda lackluster when it comes to that kick you need these days to keep up with the traffic.

    • @Toyota4Life

      I have a 2015 XSE V6 & it's still fantastic after three years of driving it! It's sad that hardly anybody picks the V6. My mom drives a 2017 XLE 4-cylinder & it sounds OK & has enough power most of the time, but it sometimes can fell lethargic off the line. The V6 just greatly transforms the car into a different animal & was well worth the $5k premium over the 4-cylinder. The dealer I bought mine at had around 390 Camry's in stock & only 10 of them had the V6. You really can't ask for a better engine.

    • @UPassEducation

      Hi Matt, I am a long time Toyota fan and Camry guy. Would I make a mistake in your opinion buying a 2018 xse V6 with 60k miles for $24k.
      Meaning considering this car stickered for $39k when new. The concern would be the engine may have been abused. My Camry inline 4 has almost 215k miles and is still running good. However, I am considering upgrading with this price point.

      Heavy Metal Rules I don't hate them, I just think they're overrated, I drive a kia and Ford, which, although they aren't as reliable, still are known for making relatively reliable cars. Plus their designs and driving dynamics and tech are all significantly better. Don't pull the Ford's are unreliable shit either, because you still see fords from the 90s driving around all over the place, I know people how've put 500k plus on them with little to no issues. Reliablity matters, not as much as design and performance. I'll put it this way, look at cars as a job, reliability = stability, design, tech and performance can been looked as like satisfaction, relevance, and flexibility. I'm sure most people would agree, it's better to have a job that's rewarding, relevant, and flexible, even if it's less stable, than most people will prefer it over just having a job that's stable but you hate going to it everyday, the desk job for example, or working in business. Reliability matters, but design, performance do as well. I don't care if I spend $500 or $1,000 more a year on repairs if I love the car everytime I drive it or look at it. There's a reason the overwelming majority of Toyota owners are old, they don't want something exciting or special, they just want to get through life. Toyota is for people who want to just get through life as quickly as possible, birth, live, death. But brands like Ford, with their stellar line of very sucessful performance cars, are for people who want to savor life.

      Kyle Everage I brought my 2018 Camry in July, just made my last payment on it 2 weeks ago. What I suggest is playing multiple dealerships against each other as to get the best deal possible. That’s what I did made my local dealership think I was willing to drive to Georgia or South Carolina from North Carolina to get a car. I even had the Georgia dealership offer to ship the car to N.C. if I brought it from them, which made the local dealership give up the car for about $6,000 off the sticker. Just play them like they try to play us the consumer.

    • @TNTtheLEGEND

      @Kyle Everage I was only able to get 3k off, its really tough over here in cali. Probably gonna b easier elsewhere, even than, 3k off huge in my location. Most dealerships dont give af. They make money.

    BEST looking car in its class and the best value.
    Wrong about 0-60 it has been tested at 5.7 seconds and so was the Accord. What no reviewer is saying is that the Camry will walk away from the Accord after 60 mph where the high strung V6 comes alive in the top end and will leave the Accord turbo behind once the Accord gets out of boost. The V6 Camry also gets really good MPG for a 301hp car. Sexy car for sure tho sexy red interior with swooping interior design, with two tone paint quad tip exhaust.. such a cool designed car. Great job Toyota. Love everything about this car. Would love to see a higher performance TRD or gazooracing model

      Indeed, that is why I went with the Camry, it was just so much cheaper to buy than its competitors despite the higher MSRP. My 2018 SE was $4.5k under MSRP with 0.9% 60 months financing, the Accord was $2k under MSRP with 2.9% for 60 months. The Mazda was pretty much selling at MSRP.

      Even small cars are tipping the scales and they aren't really small exterior wise. I have a 93 miata and pulling out a parking lot of like jarasic park, most of the trunk lids are higher than my stock ride. My old old Corolla kill some at interior space and it's smaller from the outside. Safety regulations and tech keeps increasing their girth. I wanted to buy a 87 Camry a while back, didn't like the test drive. The car felt badly maintained.

    Honda's Ive had are very dependable, but I'm tired of replacing timing belts on Honda's. Plus, the current Accord exterior is awful. The Camry for the first time has my attention. Especially this model, with the V6 and red interior. The Mazda 6 is another excellent option now that they've been without Ford influence for 5 years and are made in Japan again. Definitely, the best bang for your buck of the three.

    I own an LE 2018 and can totally agree with your review. The transmission sometimes feels very jerky and I REALLY wish it had carplay. However, I wanted a car in that class/price range with extreme reliability, gas mileage, and comfort (don't need performance since I get that from my 2017 GT). Overall I think the LE trim is a great option but I could not justify spending close to 40k on a camry... They are reliable regular sedans. They are not meant to be something sporty or luxurious.

  • @YasssStitch
    @YasssStitch 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Matt (MMM), Sofiyan (Redline), Dave (Everyman) are all reviewing the XSE V6 trim. Probably 96% of Camry buyers have no intention of ever crossing $30K mark, let alone $40k. They need to review LE, SE and MAAAAYBE XSE 4 cylinder - the cars most of us will buy or want to buy. Who buys a $40K Camry?

    Turbochargers are suppose to be more efficient according to manufacturers but it doesnt seem so. I dont have any numbers tallied but it seems n/a is just as efficient as a turbo and maybe slightly better when you mention mileage ratings. Anyways I dont know. Im diggin the vids big bro, keep em coming 👍

    • @dannytello25
      @dannytello25 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      792bnz well it isn’t the turbocharger that makes them more efficient it’s the fact that they can get the same amount of power needed with an N/A engine by using a smaller engine. The smaller engine saves more gas and bridges the power gap via the turbo charger

    There r only 2 things which i dont like in it. 1st its sound system v6 has a 10 speaker jbl sound system which is very nice but v4 has a toyota system 6 spekers.it sound below average. They should have given atleast in option.
    2nd wireless charging make the cellphone so hot it’s difficult to pick it some time when its on charging.
    Rest every thing is perfect in this car.its a head turner

    I drove one the other day and it just feels "meh". Yeah it's got some power, but it seemed to take longer for it to actually kick in. Drove an Audi S3 and that seems more responsive in every way, and also kind of gives you that "wow" factor when driving...although at a much higher price ($55k v $38k for the Camry). Love the look of the Camry, but not completely sold on the performance.

    I want the Accord, because it will fit my scenarios better than the Camry. But at the same time I can't get over the front end of the Accord. I'm not a fan of the interior of the Camry, color is good, but the layout is not my thing, I prefer a more sedate look for the interior. It's hard to make decisions now that most manufacturers are making better products.
