Why do we like watching a compilation of murders? So morbid but there's something addictive about it

    Updates on the cases covered:
Maartje Tamboezer - Solved. Maartje was a victim of the ‘Railway Killers’, John Duffy and David Mulcahy, two British serial killers and serial rapists who together attacked numerous women and children at railway stations in Southern England during the 1980s.
    Ricky Haywood - Unsolved.
    Jacqueline Palmer-Radford - Unsolved.
Katie Ratcliffe - Solved. Katie’s murderer was a 12-year old girl called Sharon Carr. She apparently committed the murder ‘for fun’.
Helen Gorrie - Unsolved. John Corcoran was convicted of the murder but his conviction was overturned on appeal.
    George Leitch - Unsolved.
Marion Crofts - Solved. 21 years after the murder former soldier Tony Jasinskyj was found guilty as a result of advances in DNA testing and was sentenced to life in prison.
Milly Dowler - Levi Bellfield was found guilty of abducting and murdering Milly Dowler.
Hannah Foster - Maninder Pal Singh Kohli was found guilty of Hannah’s murder. Kohli fled to his family’s home in India a few days after the murder and assumed a new identity. He was finally extradited to the UK in 2007 and sentenced to life imprisonment.
Micky Little - Craig Harman, a teenager at the time, was jailed for six years for throwing a brick at Micky’s lorry causing him to have a heart attack.

Thank you for posting another vintage compilation video, crimewatch uk was great when it 1st began, original, scary, and hard-hitting, in its latter years the format and presenters changed, and not for the better either...

I think it started to go downhill after we lost Jill Dando. Was still good up until about 2010, but was never the same.

@UkeOfHazzard. yes, and Mr Rav Wilding didn't help the programme much either, with his quirky little comments, it was meant to highlight serious crimes, not for any intended puns.......

The early reconstructions were fascinating. They're little time capsules now. I read somewhere that some were directed by the guy that made Threads (Mick Jackson?). Would make sense (as you said, they were scary and hard-hitting) but I can't find anything to back that up.

@hihowareyouthen As much as I used to 💩💩 myself when the original theme tune came on, with the opening credits, I was fascinated by the programme, but very wary of any noises etc afterwards, and I actually do like the movie Threads as well (showing my age here....) that is another timeless classic movie, which hopefully will never ever take place, but with the way all these wars are going right now, I don't know, the 80s was a very grim era, but I grew up in it, so I remember it well, when Nick Ross always said; "Don't have nightmares, sleep well" it might've had the opposite effect on me and others, those were the days....

I agree. It got a bit silly with jokes about criminals.

I don't think I ever felt more sorry for any man as Marion Croft's father , he looked utterly broken 😟 The Murderer was Tony Jasinskyj based Aldershot in the army catering corps. He was convicted on DNA evidence in 2001. He showed zero remorse and never admitted his guilt. RIP Marion.

He blamed himself but it wasn't his fault.
Marion's mom had a hard time recovering from the shock and had to be in hospital for a time.
She was a smart woman not to proceed further in the search for her daughter, saving herself and her other daughter form the sight and preserving evidence. Jasinski is a nasty piece of work.
I'm so glad they finally caught him and put him away where he can't hurt more girls and women.

The Kate Rackilffe one is quite fascinating in hindsight. None of the "suspicious" characters are anything like the 12 year old female killer it turned out to be!

Maartje was killed by “the railway killers”, but they weren’t apprehended until the late 90s.

Thank you. Is there any crimewatch programmes you have from 2005 to modern day? I can't seem to find that many from 2005 onwards

No wonder he was done in, wearing shorts like that.
