Julie Crocker was murdered by her partner, who was reportedly very controlling and killed her in a rage when she stood up to him during an argument. He was sentenced to life with minimum of 15 years and died while in prison.

I knew he done it as soon as her Daughter said she went to see her mother and he answered the Door and asked was she in and he replied oh no I have no,t seen her in a few days.

The police aren't stupid, they knew he did it.
After Crimewatch did an appeal in 2011 to find the owners of jewelry recovered the previous year, Sharon Osbourne's wedding ring was identified among the haul, and returned to her. A Crimewatch fan recognized the ring and tweeted a pic of it to Kelly Osbourne. No information on the necklace or sapphire ring, though.

The crimes get worser.
Unpopular opinion probably but the recent crimewatch lives are actually an improvement on the show 2008-2016. There's still too much padding and the studio itself is a bit too similar to the set from The One Show but the presenters are quite good, Rav has dropped his wise cracking persona and Michelle Ackerley comes off as very kind and compassionate. The reconstructions are done much more sensitively again without graphic details or rapid fire editing, the music is much more fitting not the kind of frenzied horror action music either. We also don't have Kirsty Young anymore grandstanding and passing her judgement over every case. She always had to have her two pennys worth.
The show will probably never be as well produced again as it was in the 1980s but it couldn't sink any lower than 2014-16, Jeremy Vine hosting it in a carpark.....
I agree. I suppose the padding comes with the budget. But it's well produced and presented. Surprised Michelle isn't a bigger "star", with her look and very human skill with interviewing.

Named locally as Robert Mercati, 63, and wife Margaret, they had two sons
Police were called to flat in Rugby Street, Bloomsbury, on Wednesday
Tributes have been left outside their home, which has a police guard
Neighbour said couple had 'volatile tempers' and argued frequently
Mr Mercati was convicted diamond thief - stole £200k of gems from hotel
And in 2011 he stole designer coats worth £6,000 from Bicester Village

Does anyone remember which episode from the early 2000s this reconstruction is from. A young girl was harassed by a man in the street after her mum let her go and post a letter on her own. She ran up to an elderly woman and pretended that she was her gran, but the man still grabbed her and attacked her.

There is something off about this entire case. Does the envelope even exist? According to the wife's version of events, she got a very good look at him. Where is the image of his likeness of him?

@@jonathannixon8652 I have found what is a fairly recent update but seems as if the police know who has done it but just don't have a case on them. Really strange case this one...
In April 2022, Police Scotland announced that Wilson's involvement in a local planning dispute around a hotel decking area opposite his house was a likely motive for his murder. They said that the hotelier was not a suspect and that the killers were likely customers or builders involved in the construction of the decking area. In 2023, Police Scotland announced that they believed two people had carried out the shooting and that one of them was likely a local they have identified who has spent time in prison for drugs offences.

Are you referring to the Hoddesdon shooting in october 2003? Or the Enfield contract killing of the boxer from 2004? If so, that episode aired in April 2005.
