I have that same watch in black DLC - the limited 1903 edition if you are familiar. I remember buying about a year ago a new calf strap directly from Zenith in NYC - $200. I only serviced my watch during warranty period so cost I can't comment but i can tell you that every time i sent my Zeniths in, they came back with additional small scratches or dings (my recent service of Defy 21 is no exception). One way to deal directly with Zenith bypassing the middleman is trying to reach out to them via fcbk or Instagram. I remember being given a runaround and wrote a pretty nasty message under the CEOs post about a new watch release. He responded and then shortly thereafter I received an email from their customer experience team. I am not sure if the events were related but eventually my watch was sent directly to Switzerland and the issue was rectified there. Also, if you purchased the watch second hand, there's a chance that the card you got was from a different watch as opposed to having a misprint. Otherwise an awesome watch which I really enjoy wearing.

Nice video Giacomo. Considering you got a new crystal and strap I wasn't surprised at the service cost. Beautiful watch!

For my Aeronef type 20 annual calendar, the chronometer one, they charged me 747 euros (no strap , no crystal changed) for a complete overhaul. I sent my watch directly to Zenith. I remember that straps were very expensive with them, around 300 euros ,a few years ago.

My father-in-law just had his Rolex serviced and it was around $900. So this price wasn’t as much of a surprise as I thought it might be

Rolex charges 3× what any other brand does

I would have guessed more money for the work. OEM straps are often expensive to the point of being silly.

The main problem with buying used ( ebay ) is the used watch you buy is, most likely, near its time for service. F.Y.I. Japanese automatics are known for going for longer periods before needing service. ( And yes, I do own a Zenith Port Royal! )

Wtf are you on about. Japanese automatics last longer before a service...? 😂 im a huge fan of Seiko and Orient, but thats just false information

What watch have you got on the wrist there? Good job by the way! :)

For all the work and parts replaced that price is fair. Less cost is always better but that's never the case with Swiss luxury watch brands.

Have the same watch, the hour hand became out of alignment. It's being sent to Zenith for full servicing by my jewelry store, not looking forward to the bill after watching this :(

Would love to hear an update about the process.

@@bright9187 Well, got the watch back after almost three months and the GMT hand wasn't lining up with the 24 hour markers properly. Just sent it back to them to correct the issue, hoping it doesn't take long this time. Don't have much faith in their workmanship after them sending it back to me not in perfect order. We'll see, but very inconvenient and disappointing.
