I reviewed this one early on in my reviews, I genuinely thought I'd hate it...Came out absolutely loving it, the applied indicies really did it for me and the skeletonised hour hand fitting the hour markings entertained me more than it ever should have!
Just got this watch, really impressive in person. No I’m not a watch snob I have others but mostly seikos and citizens but, I got because I saw it from interstellar. Really nice gotten a lot of compliments
It wasn't nadd specifically for the movie, unlike thd Murphy, this nakes it pretty cool as it is a catalogue watch chosen by the filmakers. I think the Day Date got inspired from some of the Lacos, it's not a pilot watch really but inspired by the bhur. It's a bit more dressy than the traditional. Having said that, my absolute favourite 'Dressier' fleiger is my Timefactors Speedbird III which is just awesomely designed. It has 100m screw down crown, case and bracelet made by the chap who makes Sinn cases, the bracelet is the best engineered and most comfortable jubilee I have ever worn with a butterfly catch. The dial is made of a matte black iron disc that gives the watch huge magnetic protection, it is also reverse pressurised designed not to explode if the cabin pressure is lost in the aircraft. Screwed in crown tube, which you only normally see on very very expensive watches, Lume is awesome, ETA. I'm lucky because I got one of the batch made 5 years ago which had top of the range ETA movements and had the 'even better made bracelet than the current superbly made one' Best is the price, it retails at £400 I think. OK you've got to go through Timefactors eccentric opening hours etc but it is simply superb. My one has a sterile dial, the only writing is a tiny 'Great Britain' at 6.
The only downside of the Speedbird iii is that , with that lump of iron, it's quite a heavy watch which means it doesn't sit so well on a nato, but then, like this Hamilton, the bracelet is so awesome and so comfortable you rarely change straps
it's definitely a flieger style pilot watch. as for timefactors, i'd avoid them with a 10 foot pole. there have been numerous issues with the guy who owns it, including one guy had a warranty issue with a timefactors watch, so the guy (i believe his name is eddie platts?) who owns timefactors published his name, email address and possibly his real life address on his forum (time zone?) which is very strange and illegal, as he obtained this information when the customer purchased his watch, and he is not allowed to release that info willy nilly. he also enlisted his lackeys on the forums to track down and blacklist anyone who sold one of his watches after they had purchased one from him.
@@HarryFlashmanVC I lean towards smaller/slimmer nowadays as well… I did pick up this watch though and because it’s a pilot ‘style’ I think the size is perfect… I have a 7 1/2 inch wrist for reference but I really think for this application 39 might be a little small… Just my two cents…
This is one of those underrated, over reviewed watches which makes it kind of an enigma. I too, though I’d dislike the watch bc of the size, but this actually fits my 7” wrist perfectly 🙌. Hope to see more watches with the reflective applied Arabic numerals 🙏
8:27, I also have a 7.5 wrist, you could probably wear even a 45 or 46 mm watch and still look good, matter of fact everything below 42 mm will look like a women's watch.
Nice looking watch. It would be nice for the Khaki Field Automatic to have 3 micro adjusts on the clasp instead of just 2. I don't understand why Hamilton would do this but it's very frustrating 😕
I have this watch. And the Arabic numbers are not proved in fact those are little tiny roofs causing the light to reflect off at a certain angle. I've check this out under a microscope
9:56 Amen Brother! Totally agree about 3Hz vs 4Hz beat rates. 3Hz used to be for Orient Mako's and Seiko 5's. Sad to see $1000+ Swiss watches drop to this choppier beat. The Power Reserve isn't worth it - 40 hours is plenty.
That triangle should definitely be lumed, but the biggest drawback, is that non-adjustable-by-user movement. I have the same one in my King, and it just sits in its box, because it runs slow, and has done so since I purchased it in 2016. If it ran a touch fast, I wouldn't care, but running slow is unacceptable.
I have one and have a love hate relationship with it. I loved it when I got it but it doesn't get much wrist time.. I find myself grabbing my Speedbird III for a pilot which is Timefactors IWC homage.
The day complication is too big and the date too small. The slotted hands are just strange and the indices should be lumed. I love flieger watches but not this one.
No it's not. It's all in your head and you are just imagining it. If you look closely at 3:19, the font and font size of the day and date is exactly the same, including the font size, same as the Khaki King.
A few years ago I met the guy who played Pickford in Dazed and Confused. I told him that he should have been the movie star instead of that idiot Matthew Mcwhatever.

Heck yeah! It turned out to be great! Thanks for watching sir!
Hamilton seems like they always gets the length of hands right. I’m a fan of this one.

I’m cursed with an 8” wrist and this watch fits me absolutely perfectly! 👍🏼
This is on my ‘must have’ list. It was the Murph… And I’m glad that I waited… This seems to be a much better choice… Thanks for the great review
The Murphy in 39mm would be spot on, it's just too big for the latest taste

I’ve got it and loved the film, really nice watch
Congrats on the watch. I’ve been back and forth with it as well for the reasons you’ve mentioned.

I loved this watch and I still love it! Good video, haha. New subscriber!

Very nice watch … I own it and it’s a keeper!
Good review of a good watch. I like your presentation style. Nice pun on those masquerading end links 😂
I love mine it’s alright alright alright
Missed your videos brother. Great broll and editing 👏
Thank you sir!
6:40 I’m a pilot and God forbid I’m in a cockpit for 80 hours.

Very valid points.
This is a big problem with Hamiltons, they are looking make money from servicing by making their movements proprietary.
Luming the triangle won't help at all. It would have been better to lume the numbers instead.
I love this watch but it’s too big for my tiny wrist 😭
Hamilton does grow on you.
Nice review nice watch, unfortunately my wrist is 6,4 so I got the murph 38
When are you coming back?!
I have one and have a love hate relationship with it. I loved it when I got it but it doesn't get much wrist time.. I find myself grabbing my Speedbird III for a pilot which is Timefactors IWC homage.
Please where can i get the same bracelet?
What is the strap on your Ticino Depthmaster
The non gender specific (x) end links had me rolling 🤣🙏🤙 Free your mind , there is no time lol ✌️
Come back!
❤
What happened, man? Missing your reviews...
@William M ROFL (then again, so sad)
He probably got sued by the LGBTQ+ community for his male/female endlinks joke, which was solid. 🤣😂
I'm always afraid of hamiton water tesistance. other than that It looks good.
I agree. A screw down crown would have been a plus!
Why? Do you spend all day underwater?
So, did you finally go broke and quit making videos? Hope you are doing well, good sir!
I’m doing great. Thank you for your thoughts. I don’t know if I have quit. Let’s just say extended hiatus.
這款手錶絕對可以算上經典
I agree. But only for the movie connection. I don’t know if it would be so iconic if it wasn’t for that.
3:20 Fun fact: Even Arabs themselves call those Indian Numerals because thats what they are😂
Zero people care
This is a $500-$600 max watch. No AR coating.
The day complication is too big and the date too small. The slotted hands are just strange and the indices should be lumed. I love flieger watches but not this one.

The movie sucked 😂
